So here we are 5 days into the month that is typically the hottest month in St. Louis. However, we had a lovely cool front come through and the highs have been in the upper 70's/lower 80's. But the lows...oh goodness...have been in the mid to upper 50's! It has made for some amazing AM walks. I actually pulled out a light jacket to wear!
I haven't been pushing as hard this week after my marathon week last week. But ya know what? It feels strange to not push that hard. Yes, I was exhausted at the end of the day, but I slept really well at night. Yes, my legs felt a little bit like jell-o, but I could feel them getting stronger. Yes, I was obsessed with getting fitness minutes, but I was less focused on wanting to snack all day.
So even though I "only" need my daily average to be 80 fitness minutes to meet my August goal of 2500 minutes, I think I'll start pushing hard again each and every day.
I just walked for about 13 minutes during a work webinar, just getting to 80 minutes total today.
I've also thrown in a set of wall push-ups each hour. A friend and I decided to start this challenge yesterday. Each day we add 1 more to the set. Yesterday I did 10 at a time, and today I'm doing 11 at a time. My arms are so weak! I'm looking forward to strengthening them up!
