Me and my niece Mame on my 85th birthday, August 5th!
My daughter-in-law Barb with the birthday carnations she brought me.
My birthday carnations, they were beautiful!
I had a very nice birthday lunch with my niece Mame, at the Red Lobster. Anyone who knows me would know what I had, my favourite, lol, Escargots!! This Wednesday another niece, Dianne, is taking me up to my sister Bernice's home and the 3 of us will celebrate, Dianne is even bringing a birthday cake.
We had planned on a big family do but because of the virus, that became impossible so instead, we are having several small celebrations. My 3 daughters are coming to my home either late September or early October to have a big do for all of our birthdays!! That will be awesome too!
My grandson Steve, his wife Jocelyn and their two little girls, Hazel and Violet had a photo shoot and they were all done in black and white and also coloured. I much prefer the coloured, it adds life to the photos.

Oh my, I have a lot of these family photos and love them all but too many to put on here.
For those who keep tabs on me (and thank you for doing so), you would all know that I recently was told that I have COPD. Apparently I really damaged my lungs when I smoked when younger. I quit 30 years ago but my doctor said the damage was already done and I'm now experiencing the affects. Wheezing, a deep cough that gets really awful then subsides for a few days, etc. Also loss of energy, oh several other things. It hit me hard but after a couple of days of feeling sorry for myself, I came to accept it. As I'm always saying, "It is what it is." Stay strong and one day at a time. I practice what I preach. I feel okay, just the wheezing and deep cough wears me down at times.
I truly love coming to Sparks and talking with my friends here. Thanks to all of you, you keep me going and I love you.
