So I decided to make some changes after my bloodwork was kind of dismal. My previous blog explains the problems. This one is one to pat myself on the back!
In 54 days, I've lost 10 pounds, have lowered my fasting blood sugar to near normal readings and have learned (again) how to eat like a normal human being. I've cut out candy, cakes, sweets, chips and other no good for me crap foods. I work out by myself now (since COVID) and have embraced it. I have a sweet little gym set up in my basement and look forward to working out now instead of dreading it. I've made it a habit 5-6 days a week. I've been taking Saturdays off but feel like I'm missing something. I know it's a head game, so I ignore it. I need rest and relaxation just as much as I need exercise. I've also designated Saturday as a cheat day, but once again I really don't like when I have something that my body doesn't handle well.
Diabetes has taught me that I have to be vigilant and to keep track of my carbs. That is where Spark has always supported me. I've been tracking since 2007 here. Some days it was only breakfast, other times it was everything. I was really consistent for the first few years, then slacked off. I've been very consistent this year already and plan on keeping it that way. Spark tracking keeps me accountable to myself.
I hope that I can continue on this path and keep getting healthier.
