Sometimes you have to punt

Wednesday, August 19, 2020

Ever have a day that hasn't gone the way you expected? For most of us the last 5 + months haven't gone the way we expected. emoticon

Since the quarantine we are depending on good weather to get out and walk...and our dog was a great little encouragement. Last week on our walk we heard what sounded like a gun shot and it scared him...scared us too. As we crossed the street we heard the noice twice and he took off. Well since then he hasn't wanted much of a walk. So we've upped the fast walk we take without him.

Today all set to go out after a very short walk with him when the power washing team started working on our house. Figured that noice would not sit well with Fletcher so staying with him. And then it started to rain.

So I'll punt....do some stretching and weight work now. Hope the weather gets better to go for a walk later. What I won't do is give up and just sit.

What do you do when there is a glitch in your plans?

I always have a plan. Inside workouts when exercising outside isn't going to happen! YouTube has lots of these!

We have days when things just don't go as planned. Sometimes you have to just go with the flow. The sign on my page are the words with which I try to live.

    Stay safe. Be well. emoticon

I always find it's best to have a back-up plan, be prepared for any eventuality.

Plan B, C or D. Probably most who respond to this does that. If all that fails, I start to clean, and I mean clean where I move furniture. Let me tell you that is quite the work out I start washing everything and going up and downstairs (my laundry is in the basement) can be a workout also.

So there is always a way to workout one way or another. I make sure that I just do something.

Sorry those noises bothered your pup, we have that happen with one of ours too, noises scare her. I hope as time goes by Fletcher will feel safe to go out. I do have a back up plan that I can do in the house. Good that you won't give up and sit.

I always default to my backup plan which if indoors I have a series of Leslie Sansone videos which are fun and all very different using stretch bands. It I have my Aerodyn bike. I do feel for Fletcher as I know animals Do not like those loud awful noises! (I don't either!) ... emoticon

I end up walking in place. Very boring but it gives me a chance to catch up on TV or enjoy the quiet and solitude and pray. I also try to do some strength training. If all else fails I get a spark fitness video going.

Plan B is to switch days of exercise around (I have a weekly schedule). It usually works well but I don't beat myself up if it doesn't.
Poor Fletcher, my dog also has issues with loud banging noises. Next time at the vet I am going to ask for a new product in treat form that they prescribe. Maggie's main dislikes are fireworks and thunder, noises that are unexpected.
