Changing my diet

I haven't done a blog in a long time but I feel now is a good time to. In the past year, I have been diagnosed with Barrett's Esophageal and Sleep Apnea. For the Barrett's Esophageal, I have gone on an acid reflux diet that eliminates fried, spicy, creamy foods. Also, any meats that are high in fat. I can't have any chocolate or caffeinated beverages or soda. I had to make the choice of following the diet or having surgery on my esophagus later on down the road. Not a hard decision to make. Getting use to not having all the foods I loved was actually easy. My husband weighs 128 pounds and can eat anything without having any medical issues. So he eats his food and I eat mine. I am down 11 pounds so I guess the diet is working and I haven't had any acid reflux.
As for the Sleep Apnea, I am on a CPAP machine at night because I stopped breathing during sleep and never even realized it. It isn't too hard to get use to but sometimes I have trouble but I am not giving up. I need to use this and that is that.
Each day can bring a new challenge into our lives that we never expected but how we deal with it is how it will affect our bodies and moods. When you are faced with a problem, take a deep breath and tell yourself that you will be fine and don't stress over it. Never pays to.
