Day 18 - Rest for Success:
Today, write a blog post reflecting on your current exercise schedule and see if there are changes you can make to optimize your workouts.

My current daily exercising schedule involves some gardening, walking, and hiking.

Stretching -
Five daily stretches (for my back) before getting out of bed

Gardening:
Mowing the lawn
Moving soil
Raking leaves
Digging the veggie garden (weeding, mixing, mulching, etc)
Maintaining the flower gardens (weeding, pruning, mulching, etc)
Building the compost bins up with organic materials

Power Walking:
I have two routes one route that is not busy and it's a hilly 8 km. The other is a flat15 km and it's very busy. Most days I do the shorter safer one. Sometimes I go out after dinner for another shorter walk.
Mowing the lawn - takes about 3 hours with the push / walk behind mower

Hiking:
Usually a 5 to 6 hour hike up in the Sooke Hills with a 20 pound pack. Always an adventure and good time with my hiking buddy. Try to do this twice a week, but depends on if my buddy is available. (I don't like going deep into bear, cougar, and wolf country by myself)

Moving soil:
10 yards of top soil - I finally finished moving it yesterday... Was doing about an hour a day so it would get done...

Raking leaves - from now until Christmas the maple leaves fall. Some oak leaves blow over from the neighbours, too. I rake and pile them for using later in the garden

Digging the garden over:
Using a shovel or fork, mix compost, leaves, and grass clippings into the soil

Building the compost bins up with organic materials:
Every day - gather a wheelbarrow load of fresh horse manure from the neighbours padock , push it home, dump into one of the bins, layer grass clippings and leaves on that, watering it if needed.

First day of fall is tomorrow, so the chances of going swimming again this year are very slim... There might be a few bike rides and the possibility of starting to jog again if my knee will cooperate.

Improvements that could be made to my schedule:
Stretching
Yoga
