More bad news

Tuesday, September 22, 2020

Hi everyone,
As you know my hernia surgery went well and I am feeling better. Unfortunately the surgeon called me this morning and said he got the report from the pathologist and it came back that the tissue around the hernia was cancerous.
It didn't show up in the catscan or blood work and they don't know where it is possibly my ovaries. I asked if it was my lungs and he said no.
I can go back to work on Monday as long as I don't lift anything over 15 pounds. emoticon Which I probably will because I want to pay off bills and get myself set.
Did this ever happen to anyone? ??
I started out with diverticulitis, to a hernia and now cancer?
I have an appointment on October 8th with an oncologist.
Please pray for me that I get through this ok. I am so afraid and my poor Bill doesn't know what to do.
Thank you all for listening.

As Lorraine said, it is okay to be scared, but then be brave and have faith. My husband had skin cancer, and it was treated before it spread. I know lots who have fought various kinds of cancer. Ask the questions. Get your choices. Have faith. I honestly prayed over my husband, and I believe it helped...at least it helped me. I am praying for your peace of mind and quick answers and complete healing. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sending you all the positive vibes. You will get through this. Maybe that diverticulitis was a blessing because it led to the discovery of the cancer. Hopefully before it has spread and they can get it all. Try not to overdo at work! Love you, friend! emoticon

I had an unexpected cancer diagnosis fourteen years ago, and I was shocked, terrified, and devastated. I had two books that were my bibles: Prepare for Surgery;Heal Faster, and How to Survive Cancer Emotionally. I relied on my friends to get me through and quickly got over my resistance to asking for help when I needed it. When I felt awful, I practiced gratitude by naming ten good things as fast as I thought of them. A quilter friend borrowed my throw blanket and stitched a pair of hands and a heart on it. My friends and family blessed that blanket by placing their hands on the appliquéd ones. I requested that it be placed over me after surgery so I would wake up under that beautiful token of love and care. Five organist friends played for me, and one made a recording that I eventually wore out. You will find light in unexpected places. You and Bill will get through this. Send me a spark message any time. Hugs and healing emoticon emoticon

I meant to ask----Did you doctor said they will find out the origin of where the cancer cells came from? More tests? I hope they don't just dismiss it----because it is important to know to go from there.

I'm sorry to hear this Donna and certainly my husband and I will pray for you! Keep us posted, and is there any way you will not jeopardize your job if you have a doctor's note? I understand your concerns---and know how it is on the workplace, but take care of you too! ((Hugs))

It’s okay to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.
You’re stronger than you know and braver than you think.
