Along the fence

My third birthday bouquet. Love the gerbera daisy especially.
It is another beautiful fall day here. Groceries have been delivered, are washed and are put away. It did not exhaust me doing that today. ANother step in the direction of healing.
Yesterday I took a short walk right after lunch. I walked around the near back yard where most of my flower beds are. Then I decided I would try to do a bit more.
See that white fence? I decided to walk back and forth along that fence, so I could grab onto it if I needed to. It is not far, as you can tell. But it is further than I have done before. I walked along it four times. then back into the house. I walked slowly. I was careful. I had to take a nap.
Then about three hours later, I did it again. Each time I was outdoors about ten minutes. I walked around the yard and then along the fence. ALthough it was tiring, I am so happy to be outside and getting a few more steps in. Getting my heart rate up a little.
It still surprises me how tired I get from the little bit I do. I know I am still healing. I am grateful to be able to walk around my yard once again. I will so this amount of walking for a few days and when I feel able I will add a little more.
Let's all think of something we are grateful for today. I am grateful for healthy groceries to plan my meals. I am thankful my daughter is starting to feel less pain since her ankle surgery.
Remember to smile.
