Comforting smells

Sunday, September 27, 2020

Following on from my blog yesterday - I happened to listen today to a programme on BBC Sounds by a young woman called Sarah Corbett, talking about 'craftism' which is kind of gentle activism. You can read the full script here:-

and you might be able to listen to it here:-

In the question session following her talk, she is asked what smells she uses at her events - and she says: lavender, vanilla and cinnamon.

I'm now left with a deep desire to explore 'craftism' and obtain candles that have that smell. I don't have an oil-burner (I've had several and always ended up giving them to the charity shop as I don't really like or use them!)

This might be the nearest I can get - and it's a diffuser - so no flames!

"A warm and tangy orange and mandarin scent with hints of spicy cinnamon and aniseed on a base of sweet vanilla."

and a photo of me today - taken from the sunny bench where I was listening to the craftism programme, sipping coffee from my thermos and enjoying getting some Vitamin D! (I'm not the best selfie-taker!)
