Well, my break from all things weight related lasted a week, then I saw the result on the scale the next week and thought, I can't let this go on!! So for the last week I have been quite reflective and from today I am starting a new plan.

The basic principle of this plan is to focus on habits rather than results. I know this is going to be difficult for me, but I have faith that if I can nail down certain healthy habits, the results will follow in good time. The idea is that I choose one habit to observe for 2 weeks, then I add a second habit for 2 weeks, then a third, etc. Here are the habits I have planned out so far:

- 2k steps a day
- 4 x fruit / veg a day
- hit 1870 calories a day

These will take me to 6 weeks away, at which point I will probably increase my steps goal and then look at what else I can change. I would really like to be at 5k steps a day by the end of the year, but we'll see.

This week I found out that I will probably be working from home until at least March 2021, so that has reinforced my need to adopt new habits. It would be so much easier to change things up if I was back at the office and life had actually changed, but I need to do this now. 6 months has passed and I know for sure that my fitness levels have dropped. Another 6 months the same and I wouldn't like to think where I might be!
