wonderful visit

Monday, September 28, 2020

good morning- yesterday's visit with my GD and her dad - our son went great. they were here 5 hours. I was very glad they came. but I was exhausted as was my DH after they left. GD is really independent now. She is not as huggy as she used to be before COVID. It was great for the virus but Nana misses her hugs. My son loves being home with us. We had great conversations. It was nice having adult conversations with my son. GD is such a talker at 3 years old. She is like my daughter and son both had early strong language skills. We played but mostly she played by herself with a water table and water buckets. I was glad she enjoyed the outdoors. It is much safer for us. DS wants to come back next Sunday. DH and I watch baseball. His team is in the playoffs - we want that Sunday to ourselves. All during this COVID isolation, I have never had my mask on 5 hours in a row. It is intense for both of us yesterday. I love my son, but I do not need to see him weekly. Glad they came. It was a nice distraction from the isolation. Have a good day!! emoticon emoticon

Thanks so much for adding me as a friend. Your blog made me smile....it seems we have so much in common. My son likes to visit two or three times a week with my twin grandsons (10years old) while our older grandson is at a socially distanced rugby practice. I love to see them come and we stay on the porch but I am exhausted when they leave! I am lucky that our granddaughter is still at the huggable age but she is extremely active, so once again, I love to see her come and I am totally wiped out when she leaves. And as you said, it is so nice to talk to our adult children. I hope you get to watch your game next Sunday.
