Us vs Gator!

Yesterday I went to Brazos Bend State Park, here in Texas, with my daughter. We love that park. Lots of trails and wildlife. Well, we were walking a trail next to the swamp, just jacking our jaws, talking and talking, not paying any attention to our surroundings, and then, I looked up and about 10 feet from us, on the trail, was an 8 ft. alligator! I saw him and grabbed my daughter's arm and started backing us up. At first she was looking at me like I was crazy, and then she saw the gator and her jaw dropped.
The gator was pretty ticked off at us and was hissing, displaying that beautiful set of teeth of his. lol We couldn't go back the way we had come because he was between us and where we had parked the car! So we backed up a good distance away and waited for him to calm down. Eventually he did, and he went ahead and crossed the trail to the other side of the swamp.
Needless to say, we started paying attention to our surroundings! lol My daughter said, "I just almost became the first person in the history of Brazos Bend to be eaten by a gator!"
We hiked 5 miles. Talking and laughing. The weather was perfect! Blue skies and 66 degrees, and now we have a great story to tell the G-Kids. lol
How Granny was almost eaten by an alligator!
This is the gator!
