A fall hike at Wild River State Park, the colors, the glorious colors!
Friday, October 09, 2020
Yesterday was the perfect day for a long hike. 65 deg, sunny, and absolutely beautiful. We are hitting peak colors here in MN and it was absolutely amazing yesterday to be out in the state park and to feel at one with nature.
Come along for another virtual walk with me through yet another state park!
If you have read some of my other blogs, you probably know how much I love to take pics! There is nothing better than going back and looking at these amazing views in the winter, after a few years or when I need some breath taking beauty in my life! Truly, the pics don't do justice to the colors and just how amazing and vivid it is right now. Autumn in MN is probably the most beautiful season you will ever see.
I hope you enjoyed your virtual walk through another of our many state parks and it will inspire you to get outside for a little bit today and breathe in fresh air and enjoy a little nature. I never thought I would love hiking through the woods on a regular basis, but now I keep looking to see where my next adventure will take me!
Have a super Friday, be kind, find joy and be happy!
Sending spark hugs to all of you beautiful people.
1ZIPPYC We miss those gorgeous fall colors up north. We get a touch of color here and there, with maples, rain trees and oaks, which is nice. Better than nothing. But, it's also nice not to lose all those leaves and we stay green all winter. We're looking forward to our 65 degree days to hike!! Thanks for sharing your hike. 39 days ago
Beautiful pictures! All of your Minnesota Parks hikes are making me more determined to get back to Minnesota to visit my family next summer and visit some of the parks. The fall colors are beautiful. 42 days ago
We hiked the MO bluffs in Anderson Conservation Area alongside the Mississippi River yesterday, about 5 miles of similar beautiful colors, challenging elevations! A great workout and perfect weather. What amazing blessings!! 44 days ago

Hi Holly, spark on my friend. I love the heart shape in the tree. All of the colors are awesome. You are an awesome photographer. My other favorite is the first one of the group with the bench with the lake far away. Such a great eye. Thank you for sharing your hike with your husband.
Have another great hike this weekend. I love nature. Blessings and Love, Debbie 46 days ago
Holly, your so right, fall in Minnesota is the best season for so vivid colors. I do moss those colors, as here we don't have any around that I have seen. you and your husband do take the most beautiful pictures when your out hiking. I noticed that the water in the pictures looks so blue too. So keep taking and showing us the beautiful hikes, as I do miss the fall colors. 46 days ago
Wild River is one of our very favorite state parks and we've stayed there often. Fall is my favorite time in that park because they really do have such beautiful color. Thanks for sharing with us! 46 days ago

You are so right that nothing matches actually being in the midst of the beauty, but the photos give us those hints to trigger the memories. And for those who cannot get out, they become the stuff of dreams and story-building!
Thank you so much for sharing, and grateful for your joy!
Yes, the colors are spectacular in MN. We were in Rochester last week and going again (DH having 2 surgeries) in November. I love the area. Went to school there in the 70's (yeah, I know . . . I'm 'OLD' -- LOL)
Thanks for sharing the beauty you saw on your hike.
