Thanksgiving is over but being thankful never is!

My youngest great-granddaughter Violet is all ready for Halloween! emoticon

Yes, it's time to be thinking of Halloween and how it's going to be this year. Young ones are anxious to go round to houses, but will anyone be handing out treats or will all doors be closed? Is it even safe in this Pandemic to take children out for that evening? My apartment building usually has tables full of goodies and parents from all over bring their children for treats but I don't think they're doing it this year, in fact I'm sure they're not. We don't really want people coming in our building this year. Sad, isn't it? Are you having Halloween where you live?

Today is a typical Autumn day, raining like cats and dogs and very dull. But it's so warm and cozy indoors, who wants to go out anyway?

Monday, my three daughters came for the day, to celebrate all our birthdays! Yes, we celebrated our birthdays right on our Thanksgiving Day and what better day than that can you get together with your family? I'm just so thankful for having my children. Anyway, we ordered in Chinese food and I had them take home all leftovers, so no temptation left here for me. One daughter did leave me a small container of her homemade cookies, I love to have one or two with my nightly tea so that was just fine! We had a lovely day together, caught up with all news and had a great time just being together!

Autumn is so beautiful, another thing to be thankful for!

And when we think about it, there are many things each day that we can be thankful for. I'm thankful for all of you SP friends, thankful for my caring family, so much much more that makes my days worth it!

Usually we shut down the main street through town and have a Halloween Stroll - the businesses handing out candy to children and the whole town turned out in costumes. It has been cancelled this year, so in our neighborhood we're looking at putting candy in individual baggies in containers at the end of the driveway so the kids don't have to come up to the door. It will be different, but I'm glad folks are trying to think of safe ways the kids can still celebrate. You're so right - there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for, sometimes we just have to look for it a little!

Your granddaughter is adorable. The fall colors are spectacular. Here we are still mostly green. As for Halloween. We got notice in the mailbox about how our town is handling Halloween. they suggest shooting candy down a PVC pipe to distribute to the kids. I do not think we will be participating. emoticon

I'm glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

This year we're not doing Halloween, not even the decorations outside. It's sad, but our numbers are going up in Denver. Just a few weeks ago we were in the 200's in daily cases and yesterday we were over 1,000. We'll keep our porch lights off and just watch Hocus Pocus that night.

Your girls as so cute!! Love seeing pictures of them. Glad you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have 3 of us celebrating birthdays in Oct. and due to distances just can't seem to get together to celebrate. I will have to check that out in the future.

You share my sentiments exactly! Violet is beautiful, as is Hazel. Sometimes I pause and take a peek at your page to look at them And see how adorable they are! Such blessings! ... emoticon And it's wonderful you got to share birthday celebrations with your sisters! That must have been very special! I agree there are so many things and people to be thankful for! And we can't stay thankful everyday of the year! ... I got back to writing in my gratitude journal daily and what a blessing that is! When you can't hear blessings there is no room for anything else but good! ...On that, thanks For sharing such an uplifting blog and also thank you for commenting on my blog today!......🤗 ...🐦 ...🎶..

It was so nice that you finally had your day with your daughters
    I am surprised (no pictures)

Fall could stay around a lot longer then it does, don't you agree?

Not ready for the white stuff yet. emoticon

I am so happy that you enjoyed your day with your family. I am unsure if we will be handing out candy to the trick or treaters. We may just leave some in a bowl and have them help themselves.

I think Covid has made us all more appreciative of our families.

It IS wonderful to be together and I think we appreciate it more this year. We will not be turning our outside light on this hallowe'en night. I believe it is safer for all that way.

It sure is raining today. I think Mother Nature is trying to make up for some of the days when we needed rain.

    I could not agree more!
What a wonderful birthday/Thanksgiving celebration you had with your daughters… Jealous!
Our governor has been saying that the children can have Halloween but no door-to-door trick-or-treating so everyone is sort of scrambling to come up with creative ways to let their children celebrate.
