Tough day

Monday, October 26, 2020

My body worked fine when I woke up and sewed the borders on the quilt but then after I ate lunch I got super tired and a bit shakey so it was time to give myself a rest. I slept for 4 hours. Odd for an afternoon nap. But here is the quilt waiting to be sandwiched with the batting and backing and quilted on tomorrow. It is a cutie and very very bright.

Enjoyed parts of my day at home. Even made baked chicken for dinner along with some rosemary potatoes. Will have my last banana for a bedtime snack. But I have no intention of going to town until at least Thurs. or Fri. Too much covid in the rural areas right now.

thank fulls
1. making really good progress on an important project
2. being able to just do what my body asks
3. changes in plans won't kill me

So I'll try to make phone calls tomorrow since I didn't get to them today. Maybe the thought of them didn't help how I felt today. I don't know. But whatever it was this afternoon is gone and I enjoyed my dinner with no problems. Too bad I can't concentrate the way I used to. I used to be able to sit at a sewing machine for hours and hours but the last couple of years it seems like an hour or two is my limit and then I need to change positions for a while.

Love the quilt. Yes, our bodies can't handle sitting in one position for long! Getting older isn't for sissies. That was my late Aunt's favorite saying

Bright pretty colors in the quilt.
Sorry about today, glad you took a nap, you must have needed the sleep, since you slept for 4 hours.
Tonight I finished the final touches for two table runners I made over the past couple of weeks---awe such a great feeling. One is very long for the kitchen table, and quilted with a thicker batting. The other is a smaller on with thinner batting for my glass square table my sewing machine sits on.Hopefully after going to get some more groceries at another store for the week, I may get started on the valances for our bedroom. I still need to buy some material for the couple of decorator pillows on the beds. I will get that material some day, no hurry at the present, needing them done.
I do hope tomorrow is a much better day for you.

What a lovely quilt. It resonates happiness. When I read through your biog I hear your frustration but I must admit that I read all that you accomplished!!! Even a 4 hour nap is a great thing. It's definitely self-care!!!! I wish I had an ounce of your talent. I hope you feel better and wish you luck with your calls tomorrow.
