What my status meant

A few are asking about my status today so here is a short explanation.
Another user (not on my friends list) posted a comment on a friends status. It was only one word but honestly, I could feel the hate dripping off of it.
Look, I do not care what political party you belong to, what religion you are, what race you are, what gender you are, who you love, or anything else! BUT...Sparkpeople is NOT the place for hate or divisiveness!
If you don’t like or agree with someone’s status, then scroll on by (or if you feel it qualifies – report it). For the curious, the original post was a very simple statement about the persons plans for the upcoming holiday in the United States. I had commented I was doing something quite similar. The offending person responded with their one word answer and honestly, not sure if it was directed at me, the other person, or both of us!
I have tried so very hard to keep my political feelings off this site. I’d say most of you have no idea of my current stance on much of anything going on right now. (except a status begging everyone to stay safe for the holidays) Mine and the original posters statements were quite innocuous and nonthreatening. Nothing about what we thought others should do.
My last comment about this...keep your HATE to yourself or your political Spark team (that is why they exist). It does not need to be ANYWHERE else on this site. (this is not the first time I have seen this, but this is the one that "got" to me)
Spark has been my safe haven from the nasty world since 2006. I do not want to see that end.
If you are nice to me, I will be nice to you, it is that simple.
