Christmas Cookies, Wow!

Saturday, November 28, 2020

Christmas tin my daughter brought to me today, filled with her homemade cookies and goodies!

Oh my, just look at these goodies! I'm tempted but will wait till after supper then will make tea and choose one - or two!
Every year at this time, my daughter makes dozens and dozens of a variety of both cookies and goodies. She puts all her love into doing this, then fills containers to give to her family and friends. She spreads joy and we all look for these in December. She's a bit early this year but none of us will complain. Such a kind and giving heart.

My 3 year old great-granddaughter loves to put on her mother's veil and dress up, pretending to be a bride. She is so sweet.

9 month old great-granddaughter is saying she loves it - whatever it is, lol.

I'm having another great day but have to do some hall walking and my leg exercises. This is a short blog, I need to go and do what needs doing - my exercising. I know you're all enjoying your Saturday and would you tell me . . . when do you start decorating for Christmas and put up your tree? It will be December in a few short days and then time will fly!

The cookies look so good. She is really organized to have them ready already. I am still trying to decide what I might bake. Enjoy.

Those cookies look AMAZING - what a wonderful treat to look forward to! Just be careful not enjoy them quite as much as your 9 month old great-granddaughter is enjoying HER treat. She looks like she'll need to be hosed down afterward!

Those cookies are inspiring! I plan to make molasses cookies whenever I can find molasses. The grocery store has been out the last two times I shopped. Also planning to make rum balls for my neighbor across the street. It’s a great blessing in this day and age to still have a neighbor with whom you can swap needs. I called her recently when I discovered I was completely out of real sugar and needed a cup. We’ve been neighbors for thirteen years and almost always come through for each other even when the missing item is something odd like a can of chili peppers. I’ve done most of my Christmas decorating, still debating whether to put up the tree. Some years I don’t. Your grandbabies are so cute!

WHat a delightful blog. ANd I always love the photos of your grandchildren. We usually get our tree the day after Thanksgiving. BUt with DH health situation and covid, we are probably not going to put one up this year. emoticon

Those cookies and candies for daughter sent would certainly be tempting! And I love the little picture of your granddaughter in that bridal vale! She is positively adorable! ...🤗 ... And the baby.... Pretty darn cute too! This Christmas I decided we are not going to decorate. .. I don't think anyone will care or notice since no 1 will be coming, And I am feeling way too tired and just not up to it this year.

Beautiful pictures and lovely cookie treats! Aha, yes, December and then Christmas right around the corner. I can honestly say I have no idea where the year has gone but where ever it is, it can stay hidden.

Great looking cookies. Takes some will power to resist those.

    Beautiful grandchildren.

Christmas? In my Brooklyn childhood we may have put lights in our apartment window and assembled the Creche, but the tree didn't happen until the week before Christmas. Then everything stayed in place until the Wise Men arrived to see the Christ Child.
Now in the South things are different. People are starting right now, but the day after Christmas or a few days later, it's all gone. I try to strike a balance between the two.

This year though, for just the 2 of us, probably just a few decorations that hold special memories and maybe the little artificial tree from when we were newlyweds.

    What delicious looking cookies!

Aria slept over last night and was helping us decorate today... lots done, but lots more to do. This morning she and Deedah did the outdoor tree, and we put wreaths on the bedroom doors. She has a tiny (2ft,) tree
in her bedroom here. We celebrate both December 25 and January 6 (Ukrainian Christmas), so have trees in both the living room and the family room. The living room tree is up and partly decorated; Aria will come back Wednesday after school for supper and to help us decorate the family room tree.

I hope you have a wonderful December,
