11/30: Certainty and Thankfulness

Monday, November 30, 2020

Today on this last day my 30 days of Thankfulness I thank you, my Spark friends and Sparkpeople for offering us the framework to support each other.

As I look to December I see another month of possibility and one of joy. I'm a big believer in self-help books and online support resources and groups. I also believe in setting the bar very high. I asked myself what do I want in December. The 3 things that came to mind were:

1) Clean and Paint the Trim in the house...baseboards, spindles on staircase etc. This will take much longer than one month, but I want this started next month and finished by the end of 2021.

2) Weight loss. I'm looking for a 10.2 lb loss between now and 12/31. I believe it is totally possible with intermittent fasting and I speak from experience. My current 6-8 hour window of eating what I want has been giving me a rollercoaster trip over the past month and it's time to get off this ride.

3) Organize and reduce clutter/items we are no longer using. Yesterday I took 3 large hefty bags to goodwill. 2 were filled with clothing and 1 had other household items. Getting rid of my clothing has been a challenge. I have a lot of "hope it fits again clothing" and then there are the work clothes I'll likely never wear again but am not ready to get rid of them yet. How do you all deal with this?

4) Embrace creativity time. Winter is a perfect time to stitch or quilt. This is one of the habits I plan to do everyday. 20 minutes per day. It's a way to keep my hands busy and it has nothing to do with the kitchen!

First of all thank you for all you have done for our Cloverleafs team during the fall challenge.
I had never done one before (not that I remember anyway) and I am very grateful to have been a part of it.

Not just for the weight loss although now being firmly back in my maintenance range is a plus, all the other types of challenges help make our journey more well rounded and not just one dimensional.

You may remember that your #3 Goal was a hard one for me, but I have continued to do a little bit every day and intend to continue.

Oops, just realized that my blog today may sound like I've given up on #3 LOL,
    But there's an explanation.
All is still good and on track.

It's hard to get rid of outfits that I like, but . . . if I haven't worn them in a year, they're out. Kinda weird, but if I want to remember it, I take a picture of it.

Good job and wishing you loads of success in December. Then . . . movin' onto 2021.

I look at clothes and if I have not worn them in a year - they go. Except for my wedding jacket. That stays; but everything else is fluid.

I am cross stitching too and just donated a bag of clothes of my daughter's clothes today! I took 2 hours this morning and completely went through all of her drawers. She couldn't close the drawers because there was so many pairs of socks that fell in the back of her drawers. I am not kidding when I say she has about 60 pair of socks! and 40 pairs of underwear! She is a clothes horse!

I love your scale picture and the message it says.

    You are doing great!
I have the same problem of hesitancy to get rid of clothes I like because I hope to get back down there soon.

emoticon very nice goals! I've gotten better about donating clothing - pants are my hardest thing to give away - I've got some dating back to the 70's! I've gotten "plainer" in what I like to wear -- and anything too fussy or "young" is easier to put in that bag. I get my fun with the jewelry I add to a simple solid color top.
