At odds with DH over a memorial

Wednesday, December 02, 2020

My husband's sister and brother in-law are angels on earth. Their best friend was in NYC for cancer care this summer when the doctors told her there was nothing more they could do after her 20 year hard battle with sarcoma. Kim lived with them for the end of her life as she was unable to travel home to Indiana. She passed Monday; it was a long overdue blessing.

There is a memorial service tomorrow and I said I would not attend. There are going to be too many out of state travelers and local people who I don't know how well they behave. My in-laws understand but DH feels he needs to support them. He may find himself living in a different bedroom for 10 days.

Darn, the choices we have to make these days.

I know how it is....have been there. I am sorry for the loss so try to keep your mind on the after time. I honestly can't think how it would be fore me in something like that! emoticon

First of all, so sorry for the loss. Tough. This is a horrific time for sure. I do not blame you for your decision. Personally, I would not take the risk, either!

My prayers for your sis and BIL's friend's family and for DH if he goes. Definitely would have to quarantine. Difficult choice.

    Ahhh ... geeeze.

Our neighbor now has COVID ... the ones we joined forces with and dug ditches for culverts. We are going to the store for them today ... and leaving goodies on their porch. No interaction ... though I know a hug would help.

    Take care of YOU.

It's just so... frustrating at times. Just when one needs humans most... it's not wise. Many virtual hugs for you and your family. Stay safe, and may everyone be tolerant of risk based decisions. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Sorry for your loss.

I agree with you. Our Church services are resuming after 2 week "freeze" & having to watch on-line. Last time I attended, I noticed too many giving hugs, not keeping a distance & someone near me was coughing. I decided best for me to stay home Sunday & watch on-line again. I'm sure others won't agree but I do what's best for me.

Yikes. Any chance I, the retired critical care nurse, can talk him out of it.? Your husband's sister knows your husband's history. Everyone needs to be on the same page on this one.
