holy cow, i thought i had a whole nother day!

Tuesday, December 22, 2020

i thought my son had school all through tomorrow. today he announces that they're watching Polar Express, getting out early, and officially on vacation. he is so excited that he has been singing and quoting random shows and games, across the whole house, for the last hour, while doing his classwork. it's like a parrot on methamphetamines, but i don't think he'll quiet down if i put a blanket over him. . .might be worth a shot. . .

honestly, i think it's going to go well, because he is going to be allowed ridiculous amounts of screen time, instead of just an hour a day. gotta make the most of that vacation time. we're also cleaning the trash heap that used to be his bedroom, so. . .balance.

had a lovely Christmas with my in-laws (we're passing on the larger gathering on the 25th). we'll be spending Christmas at home, everyone gets to choose a favorite meal and we'll zoom with my family and my husband's. gonna be strange opening gifts via video chat BUT, feeling very blessed that we have that option available to us.

working on finishing age-old projects and getting things picked up and put away from all the time my back was so messed up. still really tight and a bit twinge-y, but that's manageable.

have eaten so many cookies. husband's family makes a variety of gourmet-like cookies and we get a plate every year. so. many. cookies. i usually take them to work or up to my family...but that's not a doable thing right now. Covid Cookie Christmas. no regrets.

My mom is bound and determined to do Christmas cookies this year! We don't normally because she's super busy at the nursery selling Christmas trees at this time of year, but desperate times call for desperate measures!
