Just Keep it Healthy, track and weigh!

It's that cold time of year when once again, I suspect I am descended from bears, whales and sloths. I have an instinctive need to bulk up and rest. So I have decided I need to at least choose healthy foods. I also must keep myself accountable by tracking my Weightwatchers points and weighing myself at least several times week to keep myself honest.

Now I know some people here have found the scale doesn't work for you and I think it's awesome you know that. Works for me. This morning I think it even whispered in my ear..."Honey, your choices have caught up with you!" Gertie, my scale is a wise woman, who truth be told I used to resent. She and I both know exactly why I am up. I an hungrier and eating more carbs. The scale/Gertie reminded me I need to wake up and probably add more protein and healthy fats, because I don't think my stomach could handle more fiber.



I am exercising every day. I may try to increase a little, but pretty proud of how I have been working in walking, a little aerobics, a dab of weights and a little tennis. Exercise keeps me sane and happy so for me it is much like my cup of coffee.



Does you appetite increase in winter too? What are you tricks and tips? May we all be losers (of weight) in 2021! May we stay healthy, happy and silly!

    If we don't take steps to keep ourselves accountable then we are lost in the wilderness with no clear idea how to move forward. Gertie is your compass.

    Hibernation? Yep. I am sure we are related to bears. Just want to sleep until Spring. I could skip all of February and not miss it. Dark days here are difficult. I have tried the light thing, not sure it works for me. Exercise always.

    OH yes, Gertie will always tell the unvarnished truth, and sometimes it's hard to listen to that. BUT if we do, we can make wiser choices.

    I love that you have named your scale! In winter I do get hungrier. I drinkk more hot beverages. I also make sure I get enough protein. Happy New year emoticon

    I love the puppy meme - it reminds me of better days when I would weigh in once a week at the super duper scale at the gym. I always thought maybe I should take my fitbit off before I step on the scale!!! I love my scale and weigh myself every few days. Some days it goes down, other days it goes up. But at the moment I am staying kind of steady.

    I am having trouble getting in my steps. Poor Daisy hasn't had a walk in almost a week. It's cold, windy, and the darn snow plow guy did a lousy job plowing the path. The streets are full of snow which makes it so hard for me to walk. I'm afraid I'm being a bad puppy mom but Daisy loves me anyway!

    I've decided to stop my morning coffee and news routine and instead put on my workout clothes and do some exercise. A much better use of my time!

    I have a bitter-sweet relationship w/ my Gertie---and sometimes the old gal is not flattering. Oh well---It does help though--It tells us on us---and every time, I can see what I need to do. (or stop doing) .... Nice attitude and mindset regarding your exercise! ... Best wishes for a happy and healthy new year!
