New Year's Day

Daisy and I just got in from a very nice winter walk. It's been close to a week since we've been able to go. The temps have been too low and the wind too strong - and a couple days last week it snowed. It was 23 degrees when we went, almost no wind, and sunshine!
I do love sunshine, especially in the Winter. She was so excited when she saw me put on my long underwear and pull out my boots. I wish I had taken a picture of her sitting there almost smiling at me.
And on the path - she couldn't get enough of all the new smells. We took the 1 1/2 mile path which seemed to be plowed a little bit better. I suppose I need to get my ice cleats out, would make walking easier.
I am so happy to say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021. I know things won't change for awhile but I have a more hopeful feeling. I don't do resolutions any longer because I realized that year after year they were pretty much the same. But I would like to change some of the habits I've gotten into during this pandemic time. The biggest change is to get up earlier and do something other than watch the news. In the summer I have one cup of coffee with my local news station and then get out for a nice walk with Daisy. But since our first snow fall in October I've been staying in bed longer and then watching way too much news. It just depresses me. I'm thinking exercise of some sort - maybe a short yoga session would be good.
Today I did Roll & Recover with my favorite instructor, Darcy. I woke up with the worst pain in my upper back. The RnR class is just amazing. Darcy takes us from our feet to our head and hits all the trigger points and other sticky places where we hold tension in our bodies. I'd do it every day if it was available. One 45 minute session and the pain isn't gone but it's so much better!
I wish each and every one of you a very good start to this brand new year! Thank you all for being my supportive spark friends.
