Night Skiing - 1-23-21

Saturday, January 23, 2021

For those who just couldn't get in enough skiing during the day, night skiing is also an option!

Steph Appel got a shot of the slopes on a cloudy night:

While the other two photos show Mt. Werner and the lights of night skiing from across the valley (the pictures were taken from Emerald Mountain), THIS one shows what it's like coming down those lighted slopes:

I like that it shows Emerald Mountain across the valley as the last glow of the sun lingers in the west.

I ended up on the phone with my niece for THREE HOURS yesterday - not unlike my conversations with her mom. We don't talk often, but when we do, there's a lot of pent-up demand! She's looking at a new opportunity within the company she works for, and is also looking for a different apartment to move to, so she is juggling a lot of change right now. She lives in Denver and is single, so this past year of isolating has been difficult. She sees the people she works with, but that's about it. I know we will ALL be glad when we can mingle and hug again!

All those lights make for lovely photos. I think I would prefer nighttime drinking at the bar rather than nighttime skiing on the slopes. Take care and be safe.

Lovely pictures; I enjoy the first best... something about the combination of lights. It's great that you were able to catch up with your niece. This is a difficult time, but some surprising benefits are emerging. 💕

    Absolutely beautiful pictures!

Glad you adn your niece caught up! Yes, it's been hard not to socialize in the same ways I've done or years. But for now, it'll have to do.

HUGS and be safe, be well.

That’s funny, one of my nieces, whom I love but am not close to, started texting me a few days ago...just checking in, but I was so happy to hear from her and we caught up with each other.
I think everyone is feeling a bit lonely.

Can't wait until life returns to some semblance of normal. Good luck to your niece.

I loved nighttime skiing and preferred it any chance I could. So beautiful when you get to the top and look down at the Lodge and all the other lit-up ski runs. Also, it's great, when inside the Lodge and sipping on a hot chocolate by the window, to watch the skiers wending their way down each of the slopes. Great memories here, thanks, Sherrie. emoticon emoticon emoticon
