Ready for the Marines?

Hahahah...no, I'm not going to join the marines. However, one of my teams has a challenge where we take the Marines fitness test and see how we score. After a month, we will test again to see how much we've improved. Apparently, this is an actual test that marines must pass semi-annually.
The test involves a 3 mile run, full military style sit ups (not crunches) and a flexed arm hang for women (pull ups for men). Then, you check a table to see how many points you get for each items depending on your time/quantity. I really like to think that I am fit...I tell myself that all the time, (lol) but I was not sure how I would score on something like this. For example, I run 4 miles, interval style that includes a little bit of walking. I have not run 3 miles non-stop in ages. Also, I do crunches and plenty of them...but not full sit-ups.
So, depending on your score, you can end up in a 1st class (most fit) or 2nd or 3rd class, or non-qualifying. The points needed to qualify for each class is broken into several age groups (i.e. 17-26, 27-39....). I scored very well, which made me 1st class given my advanced age. hahahaha I was pretty fired up to learn that I qualify well into the 1st class for my age group. I do hope to improve somewhat by the end of the month, but don't plan to change my workouts too much. It was just kind of a fun thing to learn.
