Connecting the Spark!

Saturday, August 25, 2007

One of my goals is to meet as many SP friends as I possibly can. I haven't given any thoughts as to time frame or even distance, but since the very first meeting of a SP friend this summer I have been compelled to "connect the dots" by way of connecting the Spark!

My first experience was to meet one of my fellow TX Sparkers as DH and I were traveling to Lubbock, TX to visit family. I contacted COVEREDH (profile name) and told her I would be coming to Lubbock and asked if she would like to meet. It was a resounding, "Yes!" We exchanged information through SP mail and decided on a time and place. It was wonderful (to say the least) to finally meet someone I had been talking to for months. We laughed and talked for a couple hours then I was on my way back to family. We both had a great time and it will be an experience I will always remember.

My next get together w/a SP friend was out of state while DH and I were on vacation. This time my meeting took me all the way from Texas to Utah to meet DIEGOGAL. Once again it was exhilarating to finally meet someone so far away. Each time I was about to meet someone for the first time I would get a little nervous and wonder what was going through their mind. But once our eyes meet, introduced ourselves, and greeted each other w/a big hug, all the butterflies vanished.

My next trip to seek out SP friends began a few months ago as part of casual conversation on the TX Sparkers main sticky thread. Soon it became more than just casual conversation and a plan was developed. Now a small group of interested SP tappers has grown into "A Gathering" of TX Sparkers along the Gulf Coast in Kemah, TX.

It's truly amazing how one small goal can be turned into a major success when someone starts connecting and living the SPARK!
