You will likely find it a lot easier, physically and emotionally, if you only change one or two things and allow your mind/body to get used to the changes, before adding something else to the mix. It kind-of tricks them (mind/body) into thinking that 'this is what it has always been like.' It sounds like you are trying to change loads of things at once, and this WILL cause anxiety, frustration and self-recriminations when you don't achieve those goals.

Be kind to yourself and give yourself time to adjust. You never know - you might just stay on course this time :-)

Take care,
Kris

Hi! Welcome to SparkPeople. It is a good place. My suggestion to help make this time the one that stick is to make small changes and don't expect perfection.

If you have questions, ask. We love to help and encourage.

Hello!

Here is a great blog on this topic that I have referred back to several times. It has tips from other members and SparkGuy's recommendation. I think you might find some good tips in it.

Greetings, all! These last four days have been challenging eating-wise. Sometimes I'm not sure if I become more emotional because I'm disappointed in myself when I overeat, or if my emotions cause me to overeat. I suspect it's both.

I went to bed last night feeling badly. In the middle of the night I tossed and turned and vowed that today would be different. This is a pattern I have repeated so many times. And then I wonder: Was I ever really *on* the horse? It sure as heck doesn't feel like it some of the time. The only difference is that I'm on Spark People now.

Do any of you have tips for getting back on the horse, so to speak? How to get focused again when you've gotten off course? Thanks all! Enjoy your day! :)
