Welcome to SparkPeople. Don't be nervous, these message boards are a great way to get questions answered and to find motivation and support. You should also look into SparkTeams which are groups of members who share something in common, sometimes it is an activity or the diet they are using. Sometimes it is a shared interest like knitting, etc. You were placed in a class team when you joined, that is the group of people who joined in the same week as you, that is also a good place to begin since the leader of that team is an experienced Sparker! Under Community you will see SparkTeams, go there and you will see what teams you were placed on automatically - you still have to join but the support provided is great!

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement. -Foster C. Mcclellan
Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.
Well, you can't say that anymore because you've been on one now. The best way to start is to hit the "Learn" tab above and then the "SparkPeople 28-Day Program" and that will help you find your way from the beginning. Best of luck with the goal and welcome to SparkPeople!

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see. - John Burroughs
