All I can say is it *is* possible. I lost 70 lbs. on a whole foods, plant based diet. I have gained about 15 lbs back (for various reasons) over the last 8 months. I'm determined to get back to where I was before and lose that last 10 lbs. as well. Tracking work, healthy eating works, exercise works. Hang in there; you can do this!
Hi Cynwyn, welcome to SparkPeople. I know that it is possible and much better for your health in the long run. There are many people who have done exactly what you are trying to do. One of the best ways to find the support you need is to join a SparkTeam. It is okay to lurk a bit to try and find the right fit for you. You can also post in these message boards when you feel you need support and help. The members here are so good about trying to support everyone else. Also, remember, this is not a short journey and you will not always be successful. I have learned to measure my success in a variety of ways. I move more now, I eat better now, I cut back on sugar, overall I live a much healthier life now than I did when I joined SparkPeople. Just don't quit, keep working on it, remember, you are always a work in progress and you are worth taking care of.

Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.
Hi my name is Cynwyn. I am attempting to lose over 200 pounds. I hope I am in the right place and that there are supportive people to hold hands with over and through the rough patches. Nobody believes I can do this without surgery. I have a hope that I can. I am excited to begin this journey.
