Welcome to SP. Good luck with your goals. I'm finding lent to be a great way to start with my goals as well. I love your walking to work. I need to work on my exercise program more. Stick with it.

Welcome to SparkPeople! I had to give up diet sodas also and guess what, I don't drink them very often at all. Maybe once a month. I am still a work in progress but overall, because of this site I make healthier choices.

You are off to a great start, keep it up!

I am 63 years old and raised two amazing daughters as a single mom. I found myself stress eating and at 245 have a 100 pounds to lose. I made a job change and told the CEO if you hire me I will walk to work and not take up a coveted parking place. Two weeks into the job I walk to and from work. I gave up diet coke and fast food for lent. The diet coke is a huge deal. I am setting goals and moving forward.
