Weigh-in Friday emoticon 141 pounds. +1

My weight has been up & down every day over the last week with a final scale number showing 141. A one pound gain but I think it is due to a drastic change in my food plan which in the long run will pay off.

WOW RICHARD - Come on already !!! You are killing us. LOL

Mary so sorry to hear of you and your husband falls, they are so dangerous for our age group. I have fallen serval times in the past year or so, and each time the hurt goes plum thru me. I will be sure and make mention of you in my morning prayer time.

Oh Mary, You did have quite a day. I hope that you were able to get some sleep last night. Will your DGS be staying with you for awhile. It sounds like it was a blessing that he was there to help.

My DH had a mis-step on stairs going to our basement yesterday. He was carrying a small table down the stairs. I had told him that I would help him with it, but he did it on his own. The sound of the table and him was scary, but he was ok. He missed a step at the very bottom. Whew.

I am grateful that Mary, her DH, and my DH are ok. I am also grateful that my daughter is now out of quarantine and I can hug her and sit at our dinner table with her.

Well it's 12:45 a.m. & I'm just now finally in bed. Was going to post about 10:30 when I thought DH was getting ready for bed. Instead, he slipped & fell in the bathroom & laid there a good 10-15 minutes when I went to check on him. He was trying to get up on his own but couldn't & never called out for me. Thank the Lord DGS is here so together we got him up, then I helped him get undressed & into the shower as he had wet himself. I stayed with him, then dried him off, got him dressed & to bed. I'm exhausted.

Today has been a day. This morning we got results of his biopsy from the Dermatologist & it was positive so we have an appt to get some more cut from his arm.

This afternoon we went drink coffee with lol sister. As we were leaving, I took a mis-step & would have gone down a flight of steps face down in gravel but brother in law was right behind me & caught me around the waist. I got bruised arms & a deep abrasion/skin tear on one arm. Thank God that was the worst of it! You can probably guess that I am happy that this day is over & done with. LOL

I have much to be thankful for. emoticon

Hugs,
Mary

Good Morning

AGNES - I understand your reluctance to go to your book club. Yesterday they called to tell me that the township building has re opened and we can meet there with rules. Only a small group of 12 people allowed to quilt on June 15th. We must wear a mask, sit at our own table and eat our own lunch at THAT table. THis is a huge room so we will all be far apart. I am planning on going at least for a few hours.
You can't stay home forever but if you use caution I don't see why you wouldn't go- just stay away from everyone. If you are not comfortable at the group you can leave early. That is what I am going to do. Glad your DD is finally out of her room LOL

Today we are bringing fish ( DH caught more this week) to our son & daughter and we will see the three grands. So I am happy.

Hope everyone is doing well.
Be back tomorrow for weigh-in.

Hello All,

Margaret, Happy Birthday!!! emoticon Please accept my heartfelt wishes for a healthy and happy year ahead! (and apologies for the belated greetings).

All,

I'm doing ok, especially since yesterday I saw some tiny sprouts coming up from the ground where I planted wildflower seeds. I've been watering and tending to that area for a little more than a week and it looks like I may have some wildflowers there eventually. I also slept for an hour in the afternoon. I guess I needed it. That meant I didn't sleep as well last night, but so be it.

Today my DD will be set free from quarantine. It will be odd and wonderful to have her roaming around inside our house, eating with us, and really being part of our lives here. I'm not sure how long she will stay, but we'll take what we can get.

The leader of my book club wants to have next week's meeting on her screened porch. She has let us know that she and her DH think that we can sit 6 ft apart and will be ok. She's asked the group for thoughts. So far I've seen three of the 10 are ok with it. I know the leader really wants to do that. She loves having the meeting on her porch and has been talking about this for several weeks. However, I just don't feel comfortable with doing that yet. I'm not sure when I will. I hate to be the one to say no. I could just say I can't attend this time, but that seems cowardly. Any thoughts?

Good Morning -

MARY - DANG!!! 385 days of posting and you missed a day!
Sorry about your family loss.Hope DH understands it is for his health also that you should not go, so difficult.

MARGARET - I did feel better going to bed early the othr night and yet I still need to break that habit. I start reading and I don't want to put the book down- that is what is keeping me up late. LOL I read a cute little book about Ireland called TheTour. Just a basic story about all the people traveling from USA through Ireland together- cute.

RICHARD - emoticon emoticon Super job on the weight loss.
your Goodie is on the way!!
Have a nice visit with your DD. She will really be surprised with your progress.

AGNES- I hope youa re feeling better tofay. I had a few days last week like that.
I think it is just the weight of the world situation, virus/riots/prejudice, that is weighing heavily on all of us. Get some sunshine - feel better.

Today is Day 3 of my new eating plan. I am still working out balancing my foods according to my ideal weight but I think this is a good plan for me. I am anxious for this Friday's weigh-in to see if anything will change on the scale.

I have been busy also learning and studying French online. If I am stuck at home I thought I might as well learn something. I had French in school so some of it has been coming back to me. I am enjoying my lessons. I don't have anyone to speak French to but my DGD is taking French in high school so that may work out for us both to practice.

Tonight for dinner we are having Stuffed Peppers in Tomato sauce and a green salad.
Have a good day!

Hi Everyone,

Richard, I sent a goodie to you. Sorry it's a little late, but congrats to you on your weight loss. You're doing a great job. We all know that it's not easy, but it is so worth it.

All, I'm feeling a little down today. Just so much sadness and pain in the world. I'm fine, but there are days like this. I'm heading to the kitchen to get some coffee and will move forward with the day. It's going to be rainy here. That's ok. I have plenty to keep myself occupied.

Good morning everyone.

Mary sorry to hear about your hubby BIL. That's usually the way it happens. When one goes it's hard on the remaining one. I know it was very hard on my dad when my mom was gone.

Richard your daughter will have a surprise when she sees you.

Dwayne are you still getting in the exercise?

Today the nurse will be coming again. I think I'll have a visit from our DGD and DGS along with 2 GGS. Other then that it's going to be a quiet day.

Stay safe and have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Hello all. I was up at 6:30 this morning & out to help in senior commodities where over 300 boxes of food were distributed to local senior citizens in our small town. Had my mask on. Then did a little grocery shopping. Tonight, I cooked a turkey meatloaf, green beans, & zuchinni noodles for supper. Just finished cleaning the kitchen.

Today we also got a call saying that DH's BIL in AR died. This was his only sister's husband. She died last Feb & now he's gone too. DH is taking that hard & wants to go but his niece said they will not do visitation, just a simple graveside funeral & suggested we should not come because of covid19. He doesn't agree but he will have to accept it.

Margaret, hope you fine better soon.

Richard, keep up the great work. Glad blood work is better.

Hugs,
Mary

Good Morning to All and very special thanks for your support. One more pound and will have lost the first 50 lbs., all my blood work ups sure have shone great improvements.
My daughter called and had a great visit, she is planning a big Fathers day at her house on the lake. She has in a new fishing dock and planning on doing some fishing. Since "19" has come to visit our nation, haven't seen her since I starting losing weight, she is the wind beneath my wings.
Sure enjoy reading all your post, we sure have a diverse group, I mean that in a very positive way.
Have very blessed day, Richard

Some changes have taken place this week. Our GS moved back home with us. Saturday my nieces had planned a surprise 70th birthday party for my sister, the one that sometimes comes to stay a few days or weeks with us, so we took off & drove 2.5 hrs & she was so excited to see us after this time of no visiting. so 2 of us sisters were there out of the 3. Small close family plus one of her dearest/longest time friend. Niece did a group video live so other family & friends could see her opening gifts. Niece had asked for pictures with signs of special messages to be sent & they were all loaded to a digital picture frame for her to enjoy. She loved it.

Then yesterday, after 384 days in a row of log-ins every day, I completely forgot to log-in so I'm back to day 1 emoticon

So today, I finally got around to doing the May tallies.
Agnes, = 0.5 lb loss
Deana, only one weigh-in for May
Dwayne = 0.5 gain
Kathleen = stayed the same @ 140
Marilyn = 3 lb loss for 2nd half of May
Mary = 2.2 lb gain
Richard = 5.5 lb loss!! emoticon SparkGoodie on it's way to you! emoticon emoticon

As the saying goes, "Early to bed -- early to rise". So true for me today.
Made the effort to get to bed early for a change and was up at 5 am this morning!

MARGARET - How nice things are getting a little more normal where you are. Having that visit from the grands sounds wonderful.

AGNES- YUM, that dessert sounds delicious. Haven't had a brownie in ages.
I agree we know what we need to do for getting on track with diet- it is just a matter of when we are ready. Your plan is a good one. With all that is going on it is hard to keep that focus.

Today we will go to the grocery store. That is all that I have planned.
Take care

Good morning everyone.

Agnes sounds like your going on the right track. Here's wishing you all the best this month. We had a frost last night. I hope it didn't damage the gardens any.

Dwayne were you saying you didn't have to work yesterday? That would have been nice.

Kathleen sounds .like you had a lovely day out in the sun shine. Hope you are coming along with your knitting. I haven't done any of mine since I've been home from the hospital.

Today I'm waiting for the nurse to come. We are supposed to get warmer weather today but I'll let you know. We have been in the lower teens for the last few days and now we should be at 16c.
Saturday we had a visit from DD and she had her grandchildren sleep over so they came along for the visit as well. I was in the process of making an angel food cake and they wanted to help me. They couldn't stay for the finished product but I made them cupcakes on Sunday and they came to pick them up.
DGD started back to work and DGGD went to daycare and DGGS went to be watched at mom's cousin's home. They are starting to get back to normal.

Stay safe and have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Ah yes. A new month starts today. Like some of you I've been stalled on losing weight. I've been eating well most of the time, and my weight has not increased so that's good. I know what I need to do to lose and be healthy for my various problems: 1200 calories/day, low fat, low salt, higher calcium, lots of water, tracking what I eat, and keeping up the exercise. Simple, but not easy. Yesterday I made brownies. It's been a very, very long time since I've baked any dessert. Yes, I had a warm, chewy brownie after dinner with ice cream. It was heaven. DH and DD enjoyed it, too. I know I won't be perfect, and I don't think it's a disaster to have a treat now and then, but this month I will make an all out effort to do what I know I should do.

We had beautiful weather yesterday. I was outside a lot and enjoyed all of it. I really must do some housecleaning today. It's getting pretty messy!

Best,
Agnes

Hello -
Today I woke up refreshed and feeling great! Like myself. (?) not sure why, LOL
But I am glad I feel more energetic and happy today.

AGNES_ I am so happy your DD will join the family on Thursday.

MARGARET - NO we decided to wait and have that fish fry for the July 4th celebration. By then we hope we will have some normalcy around here for a fun family day.

RICHARD - I hope you are feeling much better today.

I was outside for most of today knitting in the sunshine and just enjoying a relaxing day. Later I came inside to do my online french lessons - which are coming along quite well.

CHANGES- i have been making many changes with my diet plan too. Listening to many pod casts and U tube doctors on weight loss plans. I have been stalled for the longest time following Keto and I needed to change things up. So I am moving on to a different strategy.

So I have a new plan in place called P:E diet plan by online Dr Ted Naiman. I will be upping my proteins, upping my carbs and lowering my fats. This plan is a 1400 calorie plan. I will be following this plan for the whole month of June.
I am hoping this will jump start my weight loss again.

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone.

Agnes hope you get more sleep soon. Maybe when your daughter is out and about with you. Are you going for your walk with your friend and her husband?

Mary hope you had a good night sleep last night and all is well with you and hubby.

Kathleen you'll be okay today. I get those blues and the next day I'm okay. Hope it's the same for you. Did you ever have that fish fry for your family yet?

Marilyn glad to hear all went well at the dentist.

Today is a Sunny day but not to warm right now. Hubby will take me for a drive after we have had breakfast . No where far just to get some gas for my car and to the bank.

Stay safe everyone and have a great day.

Hello All,

Not much new on my end. DD will be out of quarantine on Thursday night. We're all looking forward to that. I spent a lot of time outside yesterday as it was sunny and pleasant. Moved a lot of hoses around so I can more easily water plants in the future. I've been ignoring the housecleaning that needs to be done. Today - an exercise class and a walk with a friend at 10 am. Then I may need to take a nap as I didn't get much sleep last night.

Mary, I hope you have a restful night.

Things have been a little hectic here so I have not really had a chance to do much posting & have not tallied the month's weights yet but hoping to do that tomorrow afternoon. Will fill you in on a few changes that have taken place but right now I'm very tired & heading to bed. All is ok so not to worry. Good night friends.

Hugs,
Mary

How is your Saturday going? Mine is a bit different. Woke up to a storm warning tht will go on till at least 2 am. Severe lighting, thunderstorm, wind that will be able to life a car and rain up to 2 feet in places. So we are staying inside and watching. They have advised us to make sure our phones and laptops be fully charged as we could lose power. It is now 2 pm and some rain has fallen with a few thunder rolls but all is quiet right now - praying that the storm has lost its strength and will just continue to pass over

All went well at the dentist (my problem was that I had a chipped tooth - small one so he grinded them down to help out. Nor for my precious daughter - her tooth had had a root canal done on it a couple of years ago and the filling fell out - beind Down Syndrome and having been affected from her birth mother drinking and drugs it made her teeth very soft and small - therefore she needs this tooth pulled the dear girl has had quite a few pulled as it seems the more we work at keeping them clean the weaker they become.

Staying on my plan - a few slips with regards to sugar - but all of the problem food is now out of the house so even if I have a craving the food isn't here so wont be able to eat it. Am starting my 2nd week of starting over and on June 1 the program I am doing (boot camp it is called) is putting up some new videos to help us on this journey. Looking forward to them.

Listened to a blogg by Susan Pierce Thompson interviewing Deni Hill the winner of the Biggest Loser in 2011 - worth the watch if you can find it on youtube Just watched another where Susan interview a man the went from 430 pounds to 200 pounds in 16 months and has kept it off - very interesting story

At any rate am doing well - have been reading all the messages and think of all of you each day - you are all doing so well - keep coming and sharing as it is a great encouragement when you do.

Hello
Nothing new here. I am tired and just not motivated to do anything. Just sat outside in the sunshine for awhile and then took a nap. GEEESH when did I get this old. LOL. Just something I am going through this weekend.

RICHARD - I hope you are feeling better and it is nothing serious. Feel better.

MARGARET - Glad you are beginning to regaining some strength. You sure have a full month of appointments planned! Hope you are feeling good.

MARY - I also had shrimp last night ( Chinese) and today I feel the water bloat in my belly and legs. I should know better but..............it was so good.

AGNES- I hope by now your DD has been able to blend into your family again and leave her room.

DWAYNE- The lake sounds like a nice area to work at. At least you get some different scenery on the job.

MARILYN - Hope all goes well at the dentist for both of you. Thank goodness they are taking patients for emergencies. Nothing worse than a tooth ache!!

Take care-

Good morning everyone.

Agnes you beat me again this morning. Last night when we went to bed it was still in the 30c But this morning it's 15c. Now they say we are into cooler weather this week in between 14-16c so it should cool us down for sure.

Richard I sure hope the doctor can do something for you. Take care of yourself.

Dwayne sounds lovely driving around the lake . But that doesn't give you much exercise. What do you do to get it in?

Kathleen staying the same is a good thing. I'm so glad you can finally breathe a sigh of relief now that the man has been captured.

Mary hope your hubby is feeling better today. You might manage to get in some walking before it gets too hot again.

Marilyn my hubby needed emergency dental care while I was in the hospital. He gas to go back on the 4th of June to gave it pulled. The dentist made him use mouthwash for a good 5 minutes then she was ready to look into his mouth. But everything went well.

Today my DD is bringing the great grand over for a visit before she takes them back home. She had them over for a sleep over.
I managed to get in 1500 steps yesterday but last night the legs were swollen again.
My month of June us looking pretty busy. Along with the nuclear test I have an appointment with 2doctors the following week. Then the cardiologist called and wants to see me on the 15th. Then the eye doctor wants me on the 22nd. So I should be pretty busy for the month.

Stay safe and have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Hi Everyone,
I've been very tired lately, and just not motivated to do much of anything. This morning I decided that if I wait for motivation it will be a long wait, so I'm going to push myself to do the things I should be doing. Not any heavy labor, just eating well and keeping busy and active.

Richard, I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I hope that you'll be able to address your health issues and feel better soon.

Marilyn, It is unnerving to go to the dentist, but I'm sure they're taking significant precautions. And it's important to tend to dental problems.

Mary, the grilled shrimp sound wonderful. We had take out from a local restaurant last night. Owned by a young couple and her brother. They opened a couple of years ago and have done very well in their first couple of summers (just open in the summer). Now they are doing take out only. We want to support them and it's easy because the food is excellent. I had grilled salmon and a salad and roasted veggies, with some leftover for lunch today.

Dwayne, you're not doing anything wrong - just need to be a little more mindful. It's hard to focus on nutrition in the midst of this crazy time in our country. I'm trying, as always, to getting back to tracking what I eat which helps - but only when I do it!

Kathleen, staying the same with weight is a victory. good for you.

Margaret, I'm happy to hear that you're making progress with your health. It's been a long haul, but you're in a much better place than one month ago. That's a very good thing.

All, it's foggy and overcast today. I will get moving soon with a lot of little things that need to be done. first, to track my breakfast!

Good Afternoon To All: 316 dn 1 Wish I could say I feel good, but that's not the case.
Just not much to say, so I WILL get back later when don't feel so bad. I think it is my kidneys, just got blood work up back, all looked good except my creatinine 3.6 which is bad. It is the test to measure kidney function, should be less than 2.

Morning everyone hope you are all doing well. As much as I don't like going to a dentist office at the best of time and especially now with this virus am having to take my daughter for an emergency visit in an hour and then go back later this afternoon for him to look at mine - hopefully he can save my daughters tooth - and praying that we will be protected from any of the virus - think the nervousness is getting to me.

emoticon today - same as last week - hopefully next week will be better.

emoticon 175.4. Up a little but I think it's from fluid because my grilled shrimp salad last night had allot of salt & my legs are a little puffy this morning. Oh well, it was delicious & I enjoyed it.

All is good, sunshine & clear skies after all the last few days of stormy weather. Blessed & grateful to be in good health & loving life.

Good morning everyone. It's weigh in Friday. Hope you all have a great weigh in.

Dwayne so enjoyed your post. Just what I needed.

Agnes look at the bright side. You didn't go up any. Another warm day here till about 2 this afternoon when the thunder storms roll in. Then the temperature will drop. They say this weekend overnight it will go down to -1 but the days will be cooler 14 --16 c. What a change from 32c.

My doctor appointment went well yesterday. He was very pleased with the progress. He said I would have to wear the vac machine for at least another month.
My other doctor was disappointed that I didn't go to see him. I told him I thought I would have seen him at the same time as the other doctor seeing I never got a call from his office to tell me what time to go. Oh well my next appointment with them will be on the 10th of June. He should be there I hope.
On the 4th of June I have a nuclear test on the lungs to see how the blood clots are doing. I hope they have gone.
I'm just waiting for the nurse to come and replace the vac machine again. I've started my washing and got the second load in with one more to go.

Stay safe and have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Hi All,

Posting my weight at 143.5 today. About the same as it's been for many weeks.

Dwayne, I loved your post. They are all so good that I can't even pick a favorite, but maybe it's the pizza one. Thanks for the smiles and chuckles. I needed it.

Good Afternoon '48ers,

A few chuckles we can identify with?!?

1. My goal for 2020 was to lose 10 pounds. Only have 14 to go.

2. Ate salad for dinner. Mostly croutons and tomatoes. Really just one big round crouton covered with tomato sauce, and cheese. FINE, it was a pizza.... OK, I ate a pizza! Are you happy now?

3. How to prepare Tofu:
a. Throw it in the trash
b. Grill some meat, chicken or fish

4. I just did a week's worth of cardio after walking into a spider web.

5. I don't mean to brag, but I finished my 14-day diet food supply in 3 hours and 20 minutes

6. A recent study has found women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it.

7. Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

8. Senility has been a smooth transition for me.

9. Remember back when we were kids and every time it was below zero outside they closed school? Yeah, Me neither.

10. I may not be that funny or athletic or good looking or smart or talented. I forgot where I was going with this.

11. I love approaching 90, I learn something new every day and forget 5 other things.

12. A thief broke into my house last night. He started searching for money so I woke up and searched with him.

13. I think I'll just put an "Out of Order" sticker on my forehead and call it a day.

14. Just remember, once you're over the hill you begin to pick up speed.

Pass this along to your fellow seniors, I did. 😂😂

Hope you enjoyed...

'til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Afternoon everyone - praying you are all doing well.

Things are well with me - each week now I have 3 zoom meetings each about 2 hours long so that is a big chunk of my time that is now different. But so far loving it.

But truthfully right now I am tired, so am going to sign off and go for a nap

Good Morning-
UPDATE - The shooter fled to Maryland where they finally caught him. So glad that is over.
MARGARET - I hope you get some good news at the appointment.

DWAYNE - Sorry about the pup. But we do what we need to do to take care of them. Sure is a kick in the gut spending that kind of money -

Nothing new here. It is hot and humid today. I am feeling a bit off- like tired and a little cranky- no reason. A good day to sit alone and knit.

Good Morning '48ers,

Quick note again...Barney has to go back into the Vet's today; he said the abscess isn't healing right so he's going to open it up, cut out the bad flesh and sew him back up...does it ever end...I just feel bad for Barney but it's got to be done...

Hope all are making this a "Terrific Thursday"...remember, it's YOUR CHOICE what kind of day it's going to be, no one else's...

It's been a good day. Up early to bring SIL to an eye appt while DD had to be at another appt about the same time in a different town so He asked if I would bring him. We got there & we were told the appt was yesterday. LOL He had misread the message so had to schedule for late July.

While I was in town, decided to finally go change my phone carrier to Consumer Cellular which will give me a little more data/month but will save $50/ month! So I was pleased to finally have that done. Was able to keep my same phone & number too.

Read all the messages. Looks like all is well. Can't believe we are already near the end of the month & yet the last 2 months seemed to be endless with the isolation.

Agnes, good to hear that you are finally having some warmer temps your way.

Deana, seems like I am joining you with doing the majority of the yard work since DH hasn't been up to as much these days.

Margaret, so glad you're able to start doing things again. Just remember not to over do it. You are still healing & need to rest also.

Dwayne, ouch! That was quiet a bill for your fur baby but we do what we have to for them. I'm sure the OT was appreciated then.

Kathleen, heard on the news that he had been seen again in a store maybe?? Hope they close in on him soon without any more people hurt.

Well I hear my bed calling my name to Good Night people!

Hugs,
Mary

Good Morning

Yesterday was helicopters circling my house and small airplanes also looking for the fugitive. So far he has not been caught. Don't know if he left the area yet. We are safe because my DH carries a handgun and is an experienced shooter
(professional level) so we are safe.
But today while he is out I will stay inside with the doors locked. I hope they catch him quickly.

Nothing else new except we finally put the A/C on yesterday with was in the 90s F.
Take care-

Hi All,
Sounds like everyone is keeping busy.
It is very warm in 80s and we are getting the pool opened; the cover came off yesterday. I have decided to hire pool service bi-weekly to take some of the pressure off DH trying to keep it clean. I know it hurts his back and I am not willing to add pool maintenance to my list of home responsibilities, I already do 98% of the yard work.
Agnes, I am so happy to hear you and your DD are working thru the quarantine. It must be so hard. Yes, I am still doing alot of yard work.
Margaret, I hope you get better soon.
Dwayne, I hope the pup is doing better and sorry that you had that extra expense. Those are the things we do for animals we love.
Kathleen, the shooter and the police that must have been terrifying. I do hope he has been caught.
Mary, I am sorry to hear about your SIL and daughter. These are stressful times and increase the anxiety in all. I hope they work it all out.
Well, here I finally have my hand woman back and she is completing the door replacement they started back in March. Tomorrow, they are suppose to do my kitchen floor. We are social distancing and wearing mask, as necessary. I will be so glad to get this done. The bathroom is the big problem, we are a bit afraid that if she tears it out they might close down business again. Then, we would be in a real mess. We will see how it goes
Have a good day.

Good Morning '48ers,

Quick note before I get 'pretty' for work...Got 6+ hours of sleep last night, feel good this morning. I've found that 6+ hours of sleep do me just fine for the day. It's a rare night when I sleep 7 or more hours. I just wake up and that's it, I'm up. You ALL know that feeling. Mary & Margaret I so appreciate your concerns, but as I tell the Supervisors about the overtime, I'm doing it for 'need' not for 'greed'...Spending $1,000.00 on our pup that I didn't have set us back, and I hadn't worked any overtime for 3 weeks so things got pushed around and I hate that. That's a stressor for me and none of us need those! Know I do get my rest most nights, regardless of what the Fitbit says...LOL!

Hope all of you are having a great "Hump Day"...enjoy it all and stay safe...

'til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi All,

Foggy here today, and will be in the 60's later on. For us, that is warm, but not as warm as Margaret's part of the north! That must be a shock for you, Margaret. I'm hoping that it will be warm enough for us to sit on our porch for dinner tonight, so that we can visit with our daughter again. I'm starting to think about things I might do with her when the quarantine is over (8 days more).

Mary, It is so good that you have a strong relationship with your SIL. It sounds like you and DH were helpful to him and DD, and hopefully this crisis will bring them closer together.

I've been awake for about an hour, but I'm still not awake as I've just started to drink my coffee, so this will be short. I check other posts later today.

Good morning everyone.
Early rising for me today. I only had 5.30 hours sleep. I'm sitting here having a cup of hot water. It feels good to be able to do so.
I sat on the swing a bit yesterday it was mostly in the shade but it was still very warm. It's going to be another hot one today.
I managed to fix lunch and diner for hubby and me so I think that was a good day for me.
The nurse comes today to change the vac and the plaster . Then tomorrow I have an early appointment at the hospital to see the surgeon and the bio chemist.

Mary if hubby has skin cancer they will be able to take care of it in the doctor's office unless it gets too big. Glad you got your walking in before the mosquitoes got you.

Kathleen hope they caught that guy out your way. But if they haven't make sure you stay in where it's safe.

Agnes we have another hot day coming our way. How about you? It does feel nice to feel warm for a change.. sounds like you had a lovely walk with your friend and her husband.

Dwayne I'm with Mary you need to make sure you get enough zzz's. We are getting up there and we need a little extra sleep.

Stay safe everyone and have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

We were on the road to DH's appt by 8a.m. He frozen a spot on his face & it's still swollen today. I just now cleaned it for him. The spot that made me call for the appt is something that just came out about 2 months ago & it reminded me of something that my had on her lower leg some years back that was a skin cancer & sure enough, the Dr. thought it probably was so he biopsied & we should get results in about 10 days & if it is, he thinks he'll have to cut more.

On the way home, DH wanted to stop for okra seeds but didn't find at the 2 places we stopped. He did by some radish seeds & a few other kinds.Late this afternoon, I had a call from SIL & he & youngest DD had a bad argument & they were both upset. He wanted me to please go over, so I went & calmed DD. About an hour later SIL walked over to talk with DH & I about the issue they were having. He broke my heart as he almost started crying. We were able to listen & console him. When he was ready to walk the 2 miles back home he refused the ride we offered so we walked with him a good part of the way home & I thanked him for feeling he could confide in us & assured him he could feel free to do so at any time. He's a good guy & admits to some anger issues but asked for some Bible study material that he could read to help which we gave him.

Agnes, I really am not sure if I'll ever be ready to be as busy as I was before. LOL Glad you & friend had a nice walk. I know she must appreciate your friend & time you spend with her. I may not have a friend to walk & share with, BUT DH is a good walking partner. He holds my hand & feels safer walking that way & I'd much rather be walking with him than have him walk alone without me. The temps were just right about 6:30-7:30 pm so we enjoyed being out until we got back & the mosquitoes rushed us back inside!

Margaret, wow, 30C is 86F for us so that was warm with all the cold you've had recently! But I'm sure the humidity is better that ours down here near the Gulf. Right now it's 72 & humidity is 82% so it doesn't feel as cool as it should.

Kathleen, yes, we heard about the guy on the news & I did think of you when they talked about having spotted him in your neck of the woods. Hope they catch up with him before he kills again.

Dwayne, sometimes I think you're a "gluten for punishment" with the crazy hours they have you doing but then again you say you like the OT so I guess the benefits out-weight the efforts? Yes, you need to take heed "Young" man, you may need to concentrate a little more on rest. It is after all, OUR 72nd year emoticon

Deana, Marilyn, & Richard, missed your posts today. Let's all have a Wonderful Wednesday!! emoticon

Hugs,
Mary

Good Afternoon '48ers,

Missed posting yesterday...one of those days; worked my regular shift, then went home, came back 4 hours later, worked 4 hours, went home, 3 hour 'nap' then up for my regular shift today....and I'm pooped!

Kathleen, you & DH stay safe...if your DH has a gun, now would be the time to keep it handy...just in case.

Mary hope you're enjoying a bit of a rest...you deserve it...

Agnes, always good to see your posts...

and Margaret, how are you doing today? From your post it sounds like not so hot. Did you get the one machine taken off? Hope you're taking it slow. I know our minds tell us otherwise, but I'm learning there's that little voice telling me 'you're not that young anymore...that was 20 years and 40 pounds ago....'

So with those words of wisdom I'm off to do a couple 'lil things, kick back for a bit, then an early bed time for work tomorrow...

Take care everyone, prayers coming for all of you...

'til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hello
Yesterday I just didn't turn on the computer. It was a beautiful day and we were outside enjoying.

Bit of a problem here- If you saw the news this weekend there was a murder of 2 people killed in Connecticut? Well that crazy killer has been spotted in my area here in the Poconos PA behind my home. 6 state troopers are combing my area and we are in the house with all doors locked. CRAP ! What next.

Other than that we are fine. Later

Good morning everyone.

Agnes we were busy then but still busy now. We will adapt to the changes for sure. It's going to be very warm here today it's going up to 30 c. I think I might go and sit on the swing. I slept well with getting in another 7 hours . It felt good to sleep on my side.

Mary take it a day at a time. Call your family over one at a time to do an odd job for you. At least then you get a new face to see.

Kathleen it will be coming soon and you'll be able to eat as a family again only at a distance.

Yesterday was a quiet day. The nurse came and finally took off the vac which was on my chest. It felt so good and gave me a good night sleep. Now I only have the vac on my knee and that is coming along great as well.
Today with the warm weather I'm going to try to get outside a bit before it gets to hot.

Stay safe and have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Good morning,

Yesterday I looked back in my calendar to see when I last saw my dermatologist. I found that info, but also was surprised at how busy I was during that time. In a way it's hard to believe how many appointments and outings I had, and it made me wonder what it will be like in the future and whether it will be difficult to adapt back to the way it was. I'm still busy now, but in a different way. Just a thought.

DH cleaned up the bicycle, but the chain is rusty and the breaks squeak. I'm not sure it's safe for DD to ride. We'll wait til she's out of quarantine and take it to a local bike shop to see if it can be fixed. If not, they rent bicycles and that's what she'll do.

Mary, I hope that when this stay at home situation lessens, you'll be able to get out more and get a break from your daily routine. I do think it helped my friend to be out for a walk. She had to keep reminding her DH what direction we were going in, when to turn, when to go straight, but even so she was able to chat with me and it was a good visit.

Best wishes to all for a good Tuesday.

Checking in to post & read messages & just noticed that I did not post yesterday. So thought I had. Everything is ok here. Had a quiet day. Tomorrow have to bring DH to the Dermatologist for something that came out on his arm since his last visit.

Margaret, sorry to hear you've been having some upset stomach issues. Hope it's better today. I hope your family are able to come visit you soon. I know...we all miss our families.

Agnes, good that you & DD are finding ways to be in the same areas together & still do social distancing. Hope the time flies by for you both. Sorry to hear about your friend's DH experiencing cognitive decline. Good of you to get her out for a walk. It's hard being here day in & day out 24 hrs a day without a break. I believe it's one of the things that get to me the most. Our bikes are too old & in disrepair for years now. Glad you DD will get to ride. It will be a good outing for her.

Dwayne, I also enjoyed your long post the other day.

Marilyn, we're still doing live services as well. Time for this to end. Missing our gatherings at our church. That was a great drop in your weight for the week. Keep up the good work.

Kathleen, I agree, it's time to be able to get out & at least visit at a distance. Boy, that was quiet an increase in the price for the fishing trip. Wow.

High School Seniors finally got a chance to have a graduation ceremony of sorts even with the restrictions here in our area. Some had parades, some small ceremonies with their class & only 2 guests. But from what we've seen on the news, they at least got to celebrate in a new way.

Hugs,
Mary

Afternoon everyone - praying that you are all doing well

It has turned a bit cool where I live - we had turned the furnace off a couple of weeks ago but it feels like we might have to turn it on for even 20 minutes to take the chill off. But the weather forecast says it should be very hot the rest of the week.

Am still working my program - and am enjoying a new platform that they have - i have a number of ladies that i now communicate with that are doing this program and it does help - 3 of us have a weekly zoom call - it helps talking with someone who is working the same program not sure why as losing weight is losing weight - but for some reason when you talk to someone that say having (1) 3 meals (2) no snacks (3) measuring all food (4) no sugar or flour and (5) committing the food for the next day by writing it down in a journal and then sharing this commit with someone = has been an eye opener for me.

At any rate I am on my 2nd week of starting over and all is well - 1st 7 days I did lose now am working on getting below the number i recorded on Saturday - and I am looking forward to seeing if i can get more active as of June 1

Funny with all of this 'staying at home' i am more busy then ever - morning routine has changed and is so much better as it really is helping keeping me on track - don't have time to think of food all day and thankful that i plan it out the next day and then dont need to think about it the next day as my routine and things that I am now involved in are taking up more time - and because so much of this is around my 'faith' I am feeling so much better - calmer, no anxiety, no stress, happy, sleeping very well = life is good even though we are in the midst of a crisis.

So it is now lunch - so will go - will check in later for messages to read and will update tomorrow

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was a full day of exercise class, a long walk with my friend and her DH (6 ft apart, watering the outdoor plants, and doing some other yard work. I was very tired last night, could hardly keep my eyes open til 8:30 pm. DD wants to go for a bike ride, so we cleaned mine off, pumped up the tires, found the helmet and it's good to go. She doesn't use a bicycle in DC, but here there are a lot of places where she can bike safely and it will be fun for her to give it a try.

One thing for sure, we're eating very well. DH has been cooking nice dinners every evening. I think we'll be having some grilled chicken tonight. It's still chilly here, but the weather is good overall and that helps my mood.

Hope you all have a good day, and, Margaret, hope you feel a little better.

Good morning everyone.

Agnes sounds like you and your daughter have come to a way to beat the distance barrier. I bet you had fun at diner.

Kathleen on June 1st they are supposed to open up the stores that have an access door to outside. The ones in the malls will still be closed. The barbers and hairdresser will also open but with restrictions. The daycares are supposed to open up as well but they change their minds often.

Dwayne hope you had a good evening after your work day and you weren't called out again to replace someone.

Marilyn hope you enjoyed your Sunday.

Yesterday I was sick just about all day. I managed to keep a little soup down at lunch and again at diner. I ended up sleeping most of the day. I'm sure it was the antibiotics that did it to me. They have to be taken with a meal. I couldn't finish my breakfast before I was sick again. Needless to say I didn't take anymore pills for the rest of the day. Went to bed at 8 and had 7 hours sleep. Hopefully it will be better today.

We are allowed to have outside gathering up to 10 people including yourselves. So many of the families around me had visitors.

Stay safe and have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Hello
It is hot and sunny here so I have been outside enjoying!
Things are getting a little less strict but everyone is still wearing face masks and will for a long time. There will always be people out & about who are just idiots! I try and stay far away from them.

The neighboring state (NJ) where are our children live just opened the parks yesterday which was nice. They are there now playing a game called Disc Golf.
It would be nice if our parks were opened also. At least it would be nice to be able to social distance and visit with our friends.

DWAYNE - Yes the boats are open but they are under strict rule to only take half capacity until further notice., All fishermen should wear a mask ( and they did) but to compensate for less people on board they raised the price per trip. So instead of it costing $85 dollars to fish now it is $125. dollars. That is a forty dollar increase. Other boats have an also increased but most are only a $20. dollar hike. Glad the puppy is better.
Take care-

Hi Everyone,

Nice to see your posts. Yesterday was a lazy day for me. I'm not sure why I was tired all day, but I was and that meant I didn't have the motivation to do much of anything. I feel better today. This morning I'm going to go walking with a friend of mine and her husband. He has been experiencing cognitive decline, but keeps active. He doesn't go out on his own now, except very close to home. I've always enjoyed talking to him. He's a sweet, gentle person.

My DD is doing pretty well. Two nights ago we ate on the porch together. We have a very large porch, so she was in one corner and DH and I in the diagonal opposite corner - really about 12 ft apart. Crazy, but it worked and at least we could see each other. Last night it was too cold and windy to eat on the porch so she ate alone in her room. However, this too shall pass. We're texting and face timing all day long.

Margaret, the nausea may be due to the antibiotics. They do that to me. So, hopefully when your body is rid of them, you'll start to feel better.

Dwayne, thanks for the update on your puppy. Seems like you're managing everything very well indeed. I spoke with a friend in another state yesterday. Her 12 year old dog passed away a few days ago. This is the only dog she's every had and she's devastated. We know how that feels. They are precious to us, aren't they.

Kathleen, I've never been fishing and probably never will, but I sure like to eat fish. You're going to have a great party some day.

Mary, no need to apologize - ever - you do a great job at keeping us on track. Hope you get the sleep you deserve.

Deana, is the pool open? I envy you having one on your property.

Marilyn, like you we are staying put. It seems best right now. My only exception is a walk with my friend once a week, with masks and 6 ft apart. Even small connections help.

Richard, that bike ride must have been challenging. I can't handle the heat, so I guess it's a good think that I live in Maine.

Hope you all have a good day

Good morning everyone.

Saturday was not the best day. I felt nauseated all day. Got to bed at 8.30 and I've been up since 4. Today I want to get up and try to get something accomplished. I'll let you know what that brings.

Dwayne I loved your long post . You made me laugh a few times. Have you done a drive through visit to see Quin lately? I know how your wife must be feeling not seeing her. At least mine come over and play in the yard so I can see them.

Mary you sure do a lot in one day. Hope you had a good sleep last night and your well rested.

Kathleen sounds like your hubby had a great day fishing. Here we have been given the okay to have up to 10 people including yourselves from 3 different addresses to visit in the yard making sure you have your distance between you. On Friday one of my grand daughter brought her 2 little ones over to see us. They were having a great time following grandpa around the yard. Then yesterday we had a visit from our other grand daughter and her 2 boys.. That was my high spot for the day.
Hope you get to do it soon.

Agnes how is it going with your daughter so close? Do you sit and talk to her a bit through the door?

Deana hope you have been able to see your grand kiddies as well.

Marilyn we don't have the okay to have anyone in the house yet.

Richard I hope you have been practicing the 3 meter rule of distancing as well.

Hope you all have a safe and great day.

Hugs Margaret

Expecting a rainy weekend so got out there in the heat & cut grass this afternoon. Got a few other things accomplished as well. Did get to read the posts but very tired tonight so heading to bed.

Oh, also had a very nice visit from one of my sweet nieces & her new hubby late this afternoon after I finished with the yard. She will be moving to New Mexico where he is going to be stationed. We sat out under the trees & enjoyed the visit & the cool south breeze in the shade.

Sorry this is so short. Hope all have a blessed Sunday.

Hugs,
Mary

Afternoon everyone praying that you are all safe and well. We are still practicing physical distancing and am looking at who we would like to start having back visiting inside the house - we visit outside 6 feet apart but have been told we can start having up to 3-4 inside as long as well separated. Just need to decide who we will allow in to start with. Other than that we are not going to anywhere there are large gatherings

Weigh in - today is the day I do that. Here is what I have to report
Saturday May 14 = 256
Saturday May 23 = 253
Loss of 3 pounds for the week. Am smiling over that and am now ready for the next week and am praying for up to 2 more pounds at that time = but will see what happens

Have to run now - was a morning of many phone calls so am now having to get my daily morning routine complete before any of the afternoon routine gets looked at.

Have a great day

Hi Guys, hope all is well. I know one thing for sure I am going fishing in NJ. LOL
I love fishing but like lots of other thing in my life I stink at it. Olney Texas is about 50 miles south of Red River, just below Wichita Falls, Tx, home the Hotter Than Hell bike race. (100 miles long). They also have a 60 mile ride in which I completed in 2010. It is held the last week in August, thus the HHH 100. You can pull it up on the internet, it is quite a big deal. About 12,000 to 15,000 riders each year.
Glad to see each of you are doing good.
Catch you later, Richard

Good Morning '48ers,

Finally have an 'open' morning, no work and DW is sleeping...YES...Heaven on earth! LOL!

Richard, you mention 'west' Texas...where would that be? My D-Sis lives in Kyle, just south of Austin...beautiful area in an awesome state! Glad to hear you're doing better with that implant. Just can't imagine being on pain killers all those years...I don't do well when I'm on them for a few days!

Margaret, you mentioned making my DW 'happy'...much as all of us DH's try, that's like trying to forecast the weather...you don't get it right too often but you keep trying...LOL! Glad to hear you got some good news from the Dr. and the machine can go 'buh-bye'...and no more raw skin...that's an OUCH! You asked about my 'work schedule'...normally, that's the catch word here, my schedule is 6 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday...but lately with job openings, sick calls, etc. it's been a little more irregular, to say the least...DW is 'when are you working tomorrow' for a greeting now...LOL! So today was a pleasant reprieve...slept 7 1/2 hours...haven't done that in a long, long time...normally 6 hours works well for me...guess the bod decided I needed a bit more...hope you get that '7 hours' you're looking for soon...maybe after the machine is off?

Agnes, you and several others asked about Barney, our sick 'fur baby'. He's doing much better. I had a harder time dealing with DW and her being upset with the Vet for putting a 'drainage' tube in his cheek and no cone or anything to stop him from scratching at it. She was not a happy camper over that and neither was Barney...all I do is pay the bill and try to calm them both down...LOL! The drain tube is out now, but we took him back to our regular Vet. He's doing better now and hoping this Weds. will be his last visit. Now to get rid of all the foxtails in the yard... It must be difficult to have your DD back at home and having to 'social distance'. I know it's for the best, but for you Moms that's just got to be a 'heart-breaker'. I do sympathize. Hoping this is all over before she has to leave and you can enjoy some quality time together.

Kathleen, was glad to hear your DH got to go back out fishing. Has he heard anything about that being the new 'norm' for fishing - 50% capacity on ships?
I have to say...you so cracked me up with your 'story' of getting that griddle up onto your deck...you painted such a 'mental picture' I could just see the huffing & puffing, and cursing and wondering why did we buy such a big, stupid grill!!! LOL! But after it's all done you soon forget the difficulties and laugh at it all...at least your neighbors were entertained for a bit...and you're killing me with the description of hamburgers with fried peppers and onions...one of my favorites!!!

Marilyn, I hope you are doing well. I know that during this issue we're all going through things can get out of control, and we miss things that we'd taken for granted...maybe that will be the lesson we take away from all of this. You don't realize or miss it til it's gone...

Mary, sorry to hear you had to cancel your vacation, but in the long run it will be the safest and wisest thing to do. At least your DS and his family can take advantage of it. You asked if I finished work early and hit the hay 'early'...NO!!! I did my usual, got side-tracked for a half-hour then hit it the sack...And cursed myself out the next morning...LOL! I can understand the heat you're dealing with back there. We're in the 80's; next week into the 90's...yeah, I'm looking forward to the fall...biggest issue here is DW who DOES NOT DO WELL IN THE HEAT! Which means I don't do well...LOL!

Deana, you mention those who just don't take this seriously. The other day DW and I were out shopping, in Sam's Club and a man, 50ish with his mask dangling from one ear was going around, telling everyone wearing a mask, 'hey you don't have to wear a mask in our county anymore...the City Council lifted the restriction...blah,blah,blah...' I told DW, he's an 'internet troll' that got his information off of someplace like Facebook and is running with it. I hadn't heard that and the company hasn't put out any notices of masks being a 'choice' and not a requirement...plus Sam's 'requires' face masks...so....I won't say I enjoy wearing it but I'll do it when I'm in public, then when I'm in the car or truck, no mask!

Well, I think I've rambled on long enough...hope I gave you all a couple of chuckles, glad I was able to catch up...here's to a Blessed finish to the week-end for all...enjoy the holiday...

'til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Good Morning-
Yesterday DH went fishing at the NJ shore. The Governor finally opened the boats but owners are only allowed to fill boats to half capacity each trip and all fishermen are required to wear masks. DH got so many fish he was giving them away because he was catching too many for his big cooler!!! Sea Bass and Ling. We are keeping all the fish time because we are planning a big fish fry feast with our family - hopefully for July 4th. I pray things will have eased back to "somewhat" normal by then.

MARGARET - That is great news that the infection is gone and machine will be taken off soon, we hope. You are right- what an ordeal!! Hope the incision heals up well. I am still trying and my carbs have been fluctuating quite a bit up to 60g and sometimes down to 10 g. I am now trying Intermittent Fasting. Once a week I fast all day and only have liquids and then have my regular dinner. It is a never ending story....right? Once you are back on your feet and stronger you will be right there with me counting those carbs.

MARY - I can't imagine heat levels that high, uuhhhh. Even without any humidity it is still HOT! Wishing your DH some better days.

Doing a few more chores today inside. The weather is overcast and muggy.
So today I plan on passing a mop, with cleaner on it, over all the hardwood floors.
It removes dust and brings them to a high gloss.

Tonight's dinner is Chicken Minestrone soup with garlic bread for DH .
Okay I need to mop the floors '
Have a good one.

Good morning everyone.

Mary I love the sound of your weather. Is the humidity very high there as well?

Kathleen sounds like your back to your old self . Watching those carbs.

Dwayne you might have got the new you under control.

Richard you emoticon you are doing a great job .

Agnes how did you make out with the planting? It been beautiful her the last few days. Today will be in the 20s but it's still going to be nice.

Last night I finally got the call from my doctor. By Monday he is going to have the vac machine taken off the chest. The blood work came back and he was very pleased there was no infection in the blood so there will be no more antibiotics. Thank goodness they really played a number on me. He also wants to see me on the 28th at the hospital. So keeping my fingers crossed.

That's all the news for me today.

Stay safe and have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Hello all, just a quick note before I head to bed. It's been a fairly quiet day here. Heat is getting bad, ready hit over 90 degrees so didn't do much outside. DH did go out a couple times but not for long. He is feeling better but still falling asleep within minutes of sitting in the recliner. Still asking for the muscle relaxers but trying to ween him off because he doesn't have many left with no refills.

I worked on a few more masks today & been crocheting on another toy hammock for GGD. Just have a few decreasing rows left to do so will finish it tomorrow.

Looks like most everyone had a decrease this week. emoticon emoticon

Margaret, hope you can get more sleep! Maybe with the chest machine off soon, you'll be able to rest more. Hope so!

Hugs,
Mary

Afternoon everyone praying that all is well

Today is weigh in - I will post tomorrow as that is when my weigh in day is now with having started my program over.

All is great where I am - a few things are opening up but as a family we are still practicing physical distancing and not going to any place where they are now allowing crowds - such as our church. Oh how I look forward to the day when I can return, to give and receive hugs and sit in person to listen to our wonderful pastor. This weekend they are going to give it a try with 3 services allowing 49 people at each service - staggering the rows people will be allowed to sit in - the door of the church will be wide open so no touching of door, and all windows in the sanctury will be open to better ventilation (hope it doesnt turn cold ! ! ) Also what the pastor and elders have shared is that when we enter the church we are not to linger in the foyer but go immediately to where we will sit. After the service those that want to 'visit' will remain in their seats and visit that way - no getting close or standing in the foyer - then starting at the back row one row at time will be dismissed and those people will leave the church immediately going to their cars. Oh how I miss being close to my church family receiving and giving hugs and handshakes but this is not allowed so to prevent people getting to close they will be following this procedure very strictly. When our pastor called and outlined this to us he gave us the option to pick which service we would attend (and we would have to attend only that service until the complete congregation and met at one time) or if we intended to stay at home. Due to my health and my daughters we have decided we are not going to worship in the church at this time though we would love to be there. But it will be streamlined so we will still be there listening only from the safety of our own home. Another thing that will be different is all the wonderful singing we do each Sunday - we have 2 teams that rotate doing the music - my husband is on one of them so 2 Sundays he plays and 2 he doesn't. But now with all the 6 feet distancing this has all changed. The complete team cannot be up front (usually 6 of them) so now it will 3 different people, one at each service. Two fellows who play the guitar will lead a service each and our pastors daughter plays the piano so she will plan at one of them. Just not the same. And he told us rather than 6 - 7 songs there will only be 2 - 3.

Talked to our dentist and he has my daughter and myself on his list of patients that have health problems - they are looking at opening slowly as of Monday and has asked me to call back next week and he will put me into the last appointment of the day - that way they can clean the waiting room and where I have any work done with no concern of other patients around just him and the girl working with him. So we are going to see about getting a good cleaning hopefully in the next 2 - 3 weeks just in case a second wave comes early and they have to shut down again - that way we should be ok for 6 months if need be.

Now just to see when the hairdresser will be open - but again it will be only 2 - 3 customers in at one time. If she is unable to start up reasonably soon one of the ladies at our church cuts hair and I am considering seeing then if she would come over and do mine - we could do it on a nice day and sit out side if she did not feel comfortable coming in to cut it. In the mean time I am looking at some ads for wigs - one of my sister bought one for $60.00 and it really looks nice on her - looks very natural - so that might be the way I will go if I cant get it cut soon.

Well, that is all for today - will report my weigh in tomorrow - take care, be safe, practice physical distancing and we will all get through this together.

Good morning,

Margaret, everything seems in place when I see your early morning post! I wish it wasn't so early, as I know you didn't get the quality of sleep you wanted, but maybe you can plan on a nap today. I did that yesterday, just for 30 minutes and it felt great.

My daughter arrived and doing ok. It is weird to have her in the house, hear her footsteps upstairs, but not be visiting with her or having her at the dinner table with us, but we're doing fine and this will be over in 2 weeks.

Today I need to get outside and water everything that I planted. It's been sunny and pleasant, and also windy. The wind dries everything out quickly. The handyman who helps us out is painting our porch (it really needs it). We're hoping he'll be done today so that we can put the screens in and start to enjoy sitting out there. At least for this weekend. Actually the whole outside of the house needs to be painted and that will be the job for the summer (not for us, but for this man and hopefully some help that he can find). Back in the day, DH and I would be doing some of this job, but it's way too much for us now, and I was never great at getting on ladders.

I'm posting my weight at 143.0. About the same as it's been, and that's ok. I'm eating well and getting plenty of exercise and that feels good.

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone. As you can see its another early rising for me.. I only got in 5 hours sleep last night.

Agnes hope your daughter arrived safely. It must have been hard not to hug her.

Kathleen when we redid our dinette set last summer I also did a major clean up in it. The only trouble is the kiddies are on a nick knack binge. I received all precious little things from miniature teapots to pictures from the great grandchildren. I m due for another clean up.

It looks pretty quiet on the thread . I guess everyone is out enjoying the sunshine.
The doctor was supposed to call me yesterday but I guess he got to busy. So I still don't know if he would have taken the top patch off. I'll see what the nurse will say.

I want to move around a bit more as well. I was also hoping for confirmation from the doctor for that as well.

Well good luck for weigh in Friday. Hope you all have a great weigh in.

Stay safe and keep your distances. Have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Good Morning- I can't believe I missed posting yesterday. Just forgot.

DH had to season the new "cast iron" griddle and we used the griddle last night for dinner. It was great. DH made juicy hamburgers and fried green peppers and onions. The food was delicious. Easy cooking and clean up was easy too.

Yesterday I sat outside for my two hours of sun. When I came inside I started to empty my china cabinet. It needs to be cleaned - glass and mirrors. All the extra brick-a-brack I don't use is going to be packed away and put into the garage and anything I can give away I will. DD does not want anything.
So today after all dishes and stemware are washed I will be on the ladder cleaning and rearranging my cabinet. I will be glad when it is finished - another big job behind me. Sometimes I forget that I am a 1948er and tackle things I probably should avoid. LOL So I am trying to simplify everything here.

Okay lots to do today- bye.

Hi All,

Yes, today is the day that my daughter arrives - probably late this afternoon. I think we're all set for her. It will be nice to see her, even though it will be with masks on and from a distance. I'm not sure how long she'll be here. She plans to be here for ~2 months, but that will depend on how this virus situation goes and whether her company wants her to go back to her home office sooner than they planned. We'll just be taking one day at a time.

My eye appointment went well. She did some tests and everything seems stable right now.

Richard, Thank you for the explanation on your pain mechanism. I didn't realize what it is, and now I understand why you've been recovering from that surgery. I hope that it gives you the relief you need.

Margaret, you are a real trooper. It must be difficult to have the machines and nurse visits, but at least you are seeing improvement, so it's working. Are you able to get outside a little. I'm hoping that your weather is as good as ours. Sunny and in the 50 - 60 range during the day.

Mary, Smiling and at peace is a good way to be. Being human, we can't count on that every day, but it is a wonderful goal and a pleasure to work toward. Have you planted your veggies?

Dwayne, I think I'm on your sleep schedule now, and I don't like it. I'm hoping to get the 7 hours that Margaret got last night very soon.

Kathleen, when will you be firing up the grill?

Marilyn, It's great that you have a group to meet with every week to support each other in your weight loss journey. Support groups are so important.

Deana, I expect you're still doing yard work. I know I am. But, I've also planted the annuals and it's such a pleasure to see them, even though they are so tiny now.

All, hope you have a good day
