"She handed me information about the DASH diet which is basically low-salt, chicken, fish, and veggies. Nothing "dash" about it. "

Not sure what you mean about that...
DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension

I needed to get a new Doctor one year ago because we moved. She handed me information about the DASH diet which is basically low-salt, chicken, fish, and veggies. Nothing "dash" about it. I have returned to Spark as I have had better luck with it. I'm 65, retired, and need to lose weight to relieve stress on my joints and feel better. Unless I have other health issues I don't feel like I should give up foods I enjoy and cooking (which is my therapy). Spark suits me. I feel like that Doctor just handed me information on DASH because it was easier for her. She poked, prodded, peeked, tossed me a DASH print-out and retired a few months later.

There is a significant body of research supporting DASH. I have found online information and books through Amazon and Barnes and Nobles. Hope some of those resources will be helpful for you.

In my weight loss journey, am considering the DASH diet...has it worked for you? What suggestions do you have?
