Finding ways to get exercise and movement in little chunks throughout my day. Today had to take the garbage bins down, so I added some extra loops up and down the driveway, moved along with a video workout, had to go shopping so stopped at a park with sidewalks and a bike path that made a 1/4 mile walk, and did that about 3 times, and then tonight, grabbed my resistence band and did a few more exercises.

When you find the activity that you LOVE to do. The one that you look forward to.

Sounds like the stationary bike is NOT that way for you.
Can you try something else?

@NJJEZ1 - I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but for me, it has never become any easier... so, I had to pick what works for me and bothers me the least. I walk over an hour a day, every day with no rest days since I'm retired and don't really do much else activity-wise aside from the formal exercise sessions. Bad weather days the walking gets done on a Gazelle step glider in front of a TV. In nice weather, I move some or most of that outside in the form of walks around town or trail hiking. My token strength sessions consist of resistance bands, bodyweight routines, dumbbells, and grip strength tensioners. I often get in two hours but none of it is overly strenuous and most of it is either tolerable or outright enjoyable. I love photography, so my camera goes with me on all my walks and I enjoy learning, so watching YouTube and various streaming channels like Curiosity Stream keep me happy on the glider, stationary bike, or power tower. It was either find ways to tolerate staying active or start losing limbs and eyesight to Diabetes, so I had some incentive as well. It's been working well for over six years now. I guess what I'm saying is find something you enjoy doing so that it's less a chore and more a reward? Good luck!

I struggle with exercise everyday!! I am still doing my stationary bike and achieving my exercise goals. I thought it got easier as time goes by, but so far NO. Can anyone tell me when it does start to get easier. I am tired of fighting with myself.

You're an inspiration. I'll be seventy-three in June and I've been at it on and off for quite a few years as well. The last six years have all been "on" since I found out I was diabetic and the only cure is good habits, so behave I do. Best wishes and stick with it!

Anyone born in 1940? I'm still exercising one and half hours everyday. Have Elliptical, Treadmill and Recumbent Bike in my basement and use them every day. I'll be eighty in December and started exercising (running) when I was 38 yrs. old. Ran a marathon in Detroit when I was 40. Ran for 27 years until my knee gave out and had a replacement put in. That's when I got all the exercise equipment.
