YESTERDAY'S SMALL GOAL: finish my urgent work (ACHIEVED!)

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: swim for 30 minutes

Morning
Had black coffee for breakfast, went to work and found out that the air con was broken (!) so I had to do some work in the stuffy uncirculated air before I gave up and went to a local cafe where I had a spinach and feta scrambled egg wrap and some green tea.

Afternoon
Got a bit of work done but - more importantly - I snuck off for a 30 minute swim which was great! Lunch was a homemade salad, some chicken tenders and chia seeds in water.

Evening
I kind of blew my evening by having chocolate carmel candies and a snickers bar --urgh! Why? I skipped dinner as penance and so I could keep my calorie count in check but I did have some herbal tea before bed.

** Hi @LUVSCLASSICS !! Welcome to my online journal -- I am lucky to live in a place that has "opened up" so the pool is open and the office just opened this week. But we all worry that this "opening up" could be a bad thing in the long run---it is so hard to tell....

Sounds wonderful, to be at work, yet get to take a break and go swimming in a pool!
In the United States, Northeast, geographically, things are still closed;
I don’t know if we can utilize our pools yet. It is June.
The beaches have opened, somewhat, but adjoins boardwalks are closed, and the eateries are only curbside pick-up. Because of this, I have not driven there yet.
This too, shall pass, in time. Maybe next year, able to use pool.

YESTERDAY'S SMALL GOAL: swim for 30 minutes (ACHIEVED!)

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: be positive

Morning
I slept GREAT! I slept all night long and woke up just a tiny bit late but with enough time for coffee and some scrambled eggs for breakfast with my husband before leaving for work. Got to the office and found plenty of work for me to do but not so much as to overwhelm me. One bad thing happened and that was that I forgot my homemade salad! I will have to eat it for dinner I guess....

Afternoon
I had a wonderful small caesar salad for lunch and some lemonade. I got a bit of work done (not enough!) but managed to sneak away from the office for a much-needed manicure and a 30 minute swim. For my afternoon snack I had some green tea with raspberry as well as some pesto and sundried tomato bites for my snack.

Evening
Had a great dinner with my husband at the local mediterranean restaurant where I stuck to sparkling water, hummus and pita bread.

YESTERDAY'S SMALL GOAL: no alcohol (FAILED!)

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: swim for 30 minutes

Morning
I woke up WAY too early again, stayed up watching some netflix, then fell asleep and then (of course) overslept. I also woke up hungry and had cheese and onion quesadillas for breakfast instead of a more healthy option.

Afternoon
Got enough work done to be almost proud. Had a homemade salad for lunch and carrots with hummus for snack. Managed to get to the gym early and swim for 30 minutes. Then went straight home and surprised my family by arriving home early for once. Managed to meditate for 5 minutes though!

Evening
I kind of messed up my eating with more cheese and onion quesadillas for dinner but I was happy that I didn't drink any alcohol or other "bad stuff".

Morning
I woke up WAY too early (3am) and stayed up till 4:30am before falling asleep again and staying asleep till 8:30am. As a result, I got 7 hours but not consecutively AND I was late for work (!). I managed to eat papaya for breakfast and have some black coffee.

Afternoon
I did not go for a swim because of a seminar I had to attend but for lunch I had my homemade salad and for snack hummus and carrots. I also had green tea and flax seed in the afternoon. I should have done more work but I got enough done to justify my existence for now.

Evening
Had pesto pasta with prawns for dinner, some more green tea and tried to get a bit more work done. Getting ready for tomorrow!

YESTERDAY'S SMALL GOAL: no alcohol (ACHIEVED!)

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: swim for 30 minutes

Morning
I was exhausted last night and seemed to sleep through the while night (which is unusual for me). I woke up around 6am, watched the news (that was a bit depressing), did 10 minutes of yoga and stretching, made some scrambled eggs with red onion and cheese for breakfast, had lemon water and black coffee, spent some time chatting with the kids and the husband and managed to get to the office to start our first day of post-pandemic office closure work.

Afternoon
Got a moderate amount of work done at the office, managed to get to the gym in enough time to do a 30 minute swim. Lunch was a salad with cheese, carrots with hummus and a slice of chocolate cake.

Evening
I had white toasted bread, feta cheese and avocado for my dinner as well as a mug of green tea. Then my husband was kind enough to give me a much wanted foot massage!

YESTERDAY'S SMALL GOAL: no alcohol (FAILED!)

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: no alcohol

Morning
After a late night I found myself oversleeping by a mile! Until 10am. Then I lolled around doing nothing except sipping on coffee, talking to the kids and watching my (recently grumpy everyday) husband bounce around the house.

Afternoon
Finally I asked my husband if he would like to join me for lunch. he has been adamant about staying home and not going out at all so I expected him to say "no" but I was surprised when he said "sure--why not?". I took him to a cafe that I knew would be open but practicing all of the social distance measures. He had never been to that cafe before and he seemed to really enjoy the dishes we shared - firecracker shrimp, caesar salad and pesto, feta mini paninis. We had a nice, easy lunch which I think improved his mood a lot.

Evening
Another small caesar salad for dinner and I successfully stayed away from wine and alcohol!

YESTERDAY'S SMALL GOAL: swim 30 minutes (ACHIEVED!)

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: no alcohol

Morning
It's a Saturday so I woke up late. In part the reason for my late wake-up was that I woke up at around 2:30am and stayed awake till about 4:30am. That seems to be happening a lot lately. At around 3am I got hungry and ate some mac and cheese which was (of course) a bad idea! I had a late breakfast with the family that consisted of black coffee and toast with feta cheese.

Afternoon
May the fitness gods forgive me---I had a handful of KFC french fries (from my kids' take-out) and a salted caramel chocolate cake for lunch. not what I had planned....but I followed up with flax seeds for a snack and a 30 minute swim.

Evening
Took the boys out for a seafood dinner (spent way more than I wanted to and I drank two long island iced teas which did not help with my sleep!)

FITNESS SUMMARY

NUTRITION SUMMARY

YESTERDAY'S GOAL: (Swim for 20 minutes) ACHIEVED!

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: get my work done and clear my inbox

Morning -
For some reason last night I slept terribly. I had nightmares, was restless and woke up with a sore throat. I am really hoping I feel better soon. I had two cups of black coffee for breakfast that gave me a little bit of pep.

Afternoon
I had a very early lunch of quesadillas but it felt good to fill my stomach after skipping breakfast. My sore throat is feeling better but I feel sleepy. I have a lot to do and since my goal of the day is to clear my inbox that means I have to get started on the work now and forge ahead.

Wow- that swim yesterday really made me feel great AND I slept well. I also managed to stay away from an evening cocktail or glass of wine which also made me feel great. I have to remember over and over again how NOT drinking and DAILY exercise make my day GREAT!

YESTERDAY'S GOAL: (no alcohol) ACHIEVED!

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: Swim for 20 minutes

Morning -
This morning I got up feeling great. I had a disagreement with my teen age son but...what's new? ah... teenagers......Got to work and had some scrambled eggs and a croissant with hard coffee for breakfast.

Afternoon
Yay! I went on another swim! It was only 25 minutes and I swam slowly but I feel great. Lunch was szechwan chicken and rice today and I stayed away from any sweets or chocolates.

Evening
Dinner was pepperoni pizza which was obviously not a great choice but I still felt great due to the afternoon swimming exercise.

It has been more than 6 weeks since I last posted. Many of you can figure out what craziness has intervened (yeah--- this Covid-19 thing!). But I am finally on top of figuring out how to work from home, how to school my kids from home and how to deal with my (now unemployed) husband who is also finding his way in this new world.

WEIGH IN - 240 pounds (3 pounds lost; 80 to go)

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: Remember to get the kids online for their "Zoom Bingo Game".

Morning -
This morning I had two pieces of buttered cinnamon toast for breakfast (comfort food) and a cup of black coffee. I had a nice chat with my husband over breakfast and realize that I had actually slept very well last night.

Afternoon
Spent the afternoon doing online work and just let the kids play video games all day (what else can I do.....?). Had a chicken cheese burger for lunch (delivery is also our new normal!)

Evening

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: BE NICE TO MY HUSBAND!

Morning -
This morning I had scrambled eggs for breakfast and then went to the local cafe for a coffee. We all think that the cafes and restaurants will close this week so this might be my last cafe coffee for a while!

Afternoon
Spent the afternoon with an angry 9 year old who definitely does not want to do any schoolwork so I gave in and just let him watch movies. It is obvious (on day one) that I am going to have to get a grip on this quarantine schedule.

Evening

Everyone left the office early (these days attendance at the office is optional) and I found myself last in the office!

Yesterday's Small Goal - No Alcohol - ACHIEVED!

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: SWIM 20 MINUTES

Morning -
I went to be early last night because I was feeling fatigued and not particularly well. I think it was those fish tacos! Anyway - I woke up feeling great and saw a message from my daughter who is excited about a really great job offer she got. That made my morning! This morning I am having cappuccino and some psyllium husk in water. Psyllium is NOT tasty (in fact it makes my gag - but it is a great source of fiber and makes me feel full.

* missed Wednesday due to a work trip *

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: NO ALCOHOL

Morning -
I woke up this morning at the hotel and very uncharacteristically took advantage of the indoor pool (again!). This means that I managed a 20 minute swim on Day 1 and Day 2 of the challenge. I am so proud of myself for that. Breakfast was toast and butter with some watermelon slices with black coffee. Spent the rest of the morning in meetings.

Afternoon
Had fish tacos for lunch and then headed home. Had some popcorn for an afternoon snack as well as some green tea. After a few hours it became apparent that the fish tacos may have been a bad idea because the motion sickness plus the fis tacos did not sit well with my stomach!

Evening

I got back to the office in time to check my emails only to find that there was a whopping 90 emails in my in-box. After discounting a few junk mails and a few that I was merely copied in on for FYI-sake, I whittled it down to 37 emails. Dinner was some really delicious pesto gnocchi which I was craving even though it really wasn't the best choice to make. but at least I did not pair it with wine or a cocktail (which was tempting)

FITNESS SUMMARY

NUTRITION SUMMARY

NEW WEEKLY WEIGH IN DAYS WILL BE TUESDAY

WEEKLY WEIGH IN - 240 pounds (3 pounds lost; 80 to go)

TODAY'S SMALL GOAL: MEDITATE

Morning -
I will be changing to Tuesday weigh in days due to the challenge that I have joined. Today is the first weigh in day and my goal was to be at exactly 240 and I achieved that goal! After weighing in I had a bad breakfast (croissants and brie cheese with vegetable quiche at a breakfast buffet that was put on by the conference I attended this morning).

Afternoon
Spent the afternoon with one slightly injured 13 year old at the clinic. Something with his neck muscle. So now he is sporting a very dramatic looking neck collar. So my afternoon was kind of shot dealing with that minor emergency. As a result I did not get any work done and I have to travel tomorrow for an overnight trip.

Evening

Finally managed to sit down at my desk and do some work! I have to travel tomorrow so I need to go home and get some much needed rest (and pack!)

FITNESS SUMMARY

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Black Coffee (no sugar)

Monday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Got up this morning to find out that the dog had run off to chase a cat. Luckily she did not catch the poor cat and luckily we caught her and brought her home. So that was my early morning exercise - ha ha! Got to the office and found only a few emails (which is not unusual for a Monday morning). I expect the work will pick up this evening. But I need to take advantage of the slow morning to go for a swim.

Afternoon
Had a meeting at 12noon that lasted WAY longer than I thought it should have. So by the time I was finished with the meeting I was very hungry and went immediately to Subway for a 6 inch Chicken Teriyaki Sub. It was delicious and I am proud to say that I did not indulge in potato chips, cookies, soda or anything else.

Evening
Went for a 20 minute swim and was headed home when I.....stopped off at a new restaurant which claims to have fantastic chinese dumplings and other Asian fusion food. It was terrible, I didn't even finish the food and when the waiter saw I was not eating he brought the manager out to ask me what was wrong. Instead of telling them the sad truth (that the food was terrible) I lied and said I was full so wanted to dumplings take-away. And...I had a very large Long Island Ice Tea that I did not need.

FITNESS SUMMARY
swan 20 minutes

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Peanut butter crackers (4)
Black coffee
Cappuccino (no sugar)

watermelon, cucumbers, banana, papaya and carrrots

Sunday - Daily Journal

Morning -
I missed my journal yesterday but am not bothered because I did ALOT of work and managed to get my email box down to just 5 emails left. This morning I kind of wasted my time, stayed in bed late, nursed a headache and - very foolishly - at some Pringles for breakfast!

Afternoon
I spent the morning in my office and got my inbox down to only 2 emails (yay!). I also got 9 out of 13 things done on my to-do list. So although I spent my Sunday morning doing work I do not feel bad about it. I also managed to get in a late afternoon swim at the pool.

Evening
Spent the evening doing homework with my daughter. She really struggles. All of my other kids sail through schoolwork (they never even mention it to me and they do well with their grades) but my daughter struggles and she is clearly having a lot of trouble with her new science class which is hard for her. Managed to get in a 15 minute swim and took the kids out for tacos.

FITNESS SUMMARY
15 minute swim

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Barbeque pringles (about 12)
Cappuccino (no sugar)
pita bread
hummus
grilled halloumi salad
red velvet cake (only half)
chicken taco

SLEEP AND MEDITATION

meditated 10 minutes

Friday - Daily Journal

WEEKLY WEIGH IN - 241 pounds (2 pounds lost; 81 to go)

Morning -
My morning weigh in was kind of a disappointment for me. No loss and it appears my upper arms have grown an inch (!) I need to be more precise with my measurements I think.

Afternoon
Spent the afternoon with my 9 year old son and his friend - I showed them all around the office and took them to see what I do for work and it was really fun to answer their questions. After they left my office I failed to tackle my work the way I was supposed to until the last few minutes in my office when I quickly polished off 5 emails that I could have very easily handled earlier in the day. I hate it when I procrastinate! For lunch I had a bean burritio and french fries -- obviously not a great choice.

Evening
A slight nightmare in the evening with 2 margaritas and soem more Mexican food....why oh why do I keep self sabotaging????

Wednesday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Woke up this morning because there was DRAMA in the house! The boys had their pet rabbit out of the cage and hopping around when the girls accidentally let the dogs into the house and the little dog got hold of that poor rabbit. The rabbit survived (thanks in part to the fact that the little dog has a tiny mouth!) but he is shook up and we might have to take him to the vet for a checkup. Oh the drama! I didn't have breakfast so made up for it with a cappuccino and black coffee. I have a little too much to do today so will need to make sure I do not use it as an excuse to not swim.

Afternoon
Lots of meetings so I was able to successfully convince myself that I did not have enough time to exercise...urgh.

Evening
Oh my! A little bit of a disaster as far as my plans were concerned -- 2 long island iced teas and some delicious feta and spicy salami pizza!

FITNESS SUMMARY

NUTRITION SUMMARY

Tuesday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Woke up feeling a little bit groggy but got to my off-site meeting on time and spent 3 hours there. Unfortunately there was a buffet but I didn't do too badly -- a flaky croissant, some brie cheese and vegetable quiche was my downfall. Since I was out of office after the meeting it was the perfect time to slip off to the gym for a swim (which I did!). I am so proud of myself because I made the effort to go to gym and swim. I managed to do 20 minutes swimming and it felt great! I grabbed a cappuccino after the gym and then headed back to the office.

Afternoon
Got a little bit of work done at the office and had a bagel with pesto and a side salad halloumi, tomatoes, rocket and cucumber. For my afternoon snack I had a fruit plate of watermelon, papaya, cucumber and banana.

Evening
I didn't quite finish my work but the boys showed up at my office and I decided to take them out for Chinese food. We had some harkau (prawn dumplings) which was nice. Then I took them out for ice cream (I didn't have any). The traffic home was terrible so we spent a lot of time inching our way back home in traffic. By the time we got home I was too tired to do much else other than to sleep!

FITNESS SUMMARY
20 minute swim

NUTRITION SUMMARY

Monday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Woke up feeling refreshed and happy! Got to work and realized that I have a slow schedule this week which means I need to focus on some of my other goals (like applying for new jobs!). Had a cappuccino and a small black coffee for breakfast.

Afternoon
I had big plans to swim but work just took me by surprise with a suddenly busy day. I thought I had very little to do today but then all of sudden I got several new projects and that kept me busy (but not too busy to eat a cheese and chicken soft taco for lunch). For my afternoon snack I went very healthy and had a fruit plate of watermelon, papaya, cucumber and banana.

Evening
Had Chinese food with a friend. She was pretty insistent on sweet and sour prawns, race and crispy duck (none of which I really wanted but since this is her last week in town I decided to agree to whatever she wanted). I tried peeling off the breaded bits from the prawns because it wasn't very good and also I wanted to save on the carbs. I am VERY PROUD of myself for avoiding alcohol again today!

FITNESS SUMMARY
15 minute swim

NUTRITION SUMMARY
cappuccino (no sugar)
black coffee
chicken cheese soft taco
papaya, watermelon, banana, cucumber
sweet and sour prawns - white rice
crispy duck in hoisin sauce
NO ALCOHOL!

Sunday - Daily Journal

Morning -
the kids let me sleep until 9am! I was amazed. When I finally got up I found that they had already treated themselves to breakfast and were outside playing in the yard. I had 2 scrambled eggs with a bit of white cheddar cheese, 1 piece of white toast with butter and a cup of green tea.

Afternoon
I spent the afternoon in the office piddling around and not getting much done. I ordered a grilled halloumi salad which was delicious and I had some chia seeds finally.

Evening
I got to the gym and had a good solid 15 minute swim. I meant to swim 20 minutes at least but 15 was enough for me! I did not realize just how out of shape I am until I tried to swim one length of the pool and realized that I was already tired. After the gym I grabbed four small spanokopita (Greek spinach pastries) and had a freshly squeezed juice.

FITNESS SUMMARY
15 minute swim

NUTRITION SUMMARY
2 scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese
1 piece of buttered white toast
green tea
grilled halloumi salad

I woke up with a headache but took the kids out for breakfast anyway. Luckily I got my hands on some tylenol which took care of the headache! We had a great breakfast at the local cafe -- the kids had "pain au chocolat" pastries and I had a nice Lebanese spread of zaatar manakeesh and labneh whcih I love.

Afternoon
After breakfast I took my son to his electrOnics class, hung out with the little ones for awhile, took the girls to a salon and too the boys to a game center. Then we had chinese for lunch (I had crispy honey chicken in white rice). Overall-- a pretty good day.

Evening
And - as usual--- I pretty much ruined it in the evening with 2 glasses of wine and some cheetos urgh --awful.

Friday - Daily Journal

WEEKLY WEIGH IN - 241 pounds (2 pounds lost; 81 to go)

Morning -
I was up all night with my daughter who has an ear infection. She was really in a lot of pain and I felt so sorry for her but I tried everything. This morning we will go to the doctor's office but I am exhausted. Maybe I got about 5 hours of sleep? this morning I had a nice breakfast with my two teens before school - scrambled eggs and black coffee (nutella pancakes for them). Now I need to tackle the work -- I have 14 emails waiting for me!

Afternoon
I played racquetball again today which was great fun! The rest of the entire afternoon was spent on errands - I took my daughters to the doctor's office for different reasons and that took awhile. Then I met up with my visiting friend and ended up chatting away over coffee. As a result I did not get much work done today but it was still a good day (and moderately productive). I skipped lunch due to all of the coffee and errands.

Evening
I had a girl's night out with 4 good friends and we had Ethiopian food (which I LOVE!) so I had way too much. The good thing though is that I stayed completely away from alcohol.

FITNESS SUMMARY
45 minutes of racquetball.

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Black Coffee (no sugar)
Scrambled eggs and toast
watermelon
cucumber
carrot
banana
Ethiopian food (too much of it!)

SLEEP AND MEDITATION

Thursday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Woke up super early and called my daughter who lives abroad. It was so great to have a nice long, fun call with her - it has been awhile since she had time for a long talk. For breakfast I grabbed two oatmeal cookies, had a cappuccino and am saving myself for a visit to the gym this afternoon.

Afternoon
I spent the afternoon running errands for these kids of mine! there were a few kinks in the schedule that got us all confused but everything worked out in the end. For lunch I had some Lebanese food - labneh and pita bread plus some cheese rolls.

Evening
Evening was GREAT! First - I played racquetball with a friend at the gym (the first time in almost a year!). It is a terrible sport for my knees but I love the competition. AND -- I fulfilled my goal of going to the gym! Then we went out for cocktails and - instead of cocktails - I had sparkling water! woo hoo! I resisted cocktails!

FITNESS SUMMARY
45 mins racquetball

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Oatmeal cookie
Cappuccino (no sugar)
cheese rolls
labneh
zaatar manakeesh
cucumber
watermelon
white chocolate bar

SLEEP AND MEDITATION

Wednesday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Woke up feeling great. I know the reason --- it is because of the fact that I have not alcohol in about 4 days. Also I think it helps that I have finished a lot of my work each evening before I leave the office which means that I don't carry any work worries home with me.

Afternoon
Finished my morning work early so I dashed out for my self-promised manicure which feels great. I also took the kids out to lunch so that made me feel like an A-grade mom. Lunch however resulted in some bad choices for me -- a cheesy chicken schnitzel with onion rings and mashed potatoes.

Evening
I joined the gym! yay! That was a commitment that I have been meaning to make for awhile and finally did it today. Wish me luck. In another atrocity - I had a rum and coke at dinner (but only ONE!). For dinner I managed to put together a nice little salad.

FITNESS SUMMARY
(nothing! BUT I did join a gym! yay!)

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Oatmeal cookie
Cappuccino (no sugar)
Chicken Schnitzel with cheese sauce
mashed potatoes
onion rings
rum and coke (1)
green salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, lettuce

SLEEP AND MEDITATION

Tuesday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Got up super early and left for the office before the kids were even up for breakfast. My day is FULL today - I am not quite sure how I will get it all done. I had a quick oatmeal cookie for breakfast just to have something in my stomach and will treat myself to the usual sugar free cappuccino as soon as the cafe is open. Then back to my desk to tackle all of this work.

Afternoon
Had tons of meetings but all were fruitful. Best of all -- I had 3 replies from people willing to be references on my work applications. Had some healthy Lebanese food for lunch - labneh and pita. Then had a fruit plate for my snack.

Evening
Ruined the diet with a big plate of cheesy pesto pasta. But... boy was it good! I ended the evening by picking my good friend up at the airport which was great. Then when I got home all the kids were asleep so I managed to go to bed all by myself with no kiddos.

FITNESS SUMMARY
Urgh -- nothing as usual!

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Oatmeal cookie
Cappuccino (no sugar)
Cheese rolls in sweet chili sauce
Labneh (yogurt) and pita
watermelon
cucumber
carrots
green tea
cheesy pesto pasta

SLEEP AND MEDITATION

Monday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Goal achieved! I set a single goal for myself which was to go on a morning walk. I did it! A 20 minute, 1.44 km walk. Not huge but huge for me. When I got back from my walk I was feeling good and happy (so happy I actually put on make up which is something I only manage to do a few times a week!). So the morning started great but the kids had another plan in mind! The engaged in yet another Monday morning fight in the car. What is it about Mondays??? But they managed to get to school in one piece and I got to the office and have already whittled my emails down to just 4 left. I might have time for a facial or manicure today! Breakfast was just a cappuccino, a black coffee and some water with chia seeds.

Afternoon
Remind me not to pick up the kids after school. I thought I was doing them a favor today by picking them up and taking them out for Chinese noodles for lunch but they were, for the most part, wild, ungrateful and unruly. I had a salad (as was my goal!) but polished it off with pecan pie which was not part of the plan!

Evening
Worked a bit late and then wolfed down a chicken samosa when I got home! Other than that the evening was kind of boring.

FITNESS SUMMARY
20 minute morning walk (1.44km)

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Cappuccino (no sugar)
Black coffee
chicken casear salad
pecan pie
snickers bar
chicken samosa

SLEEP AND MEDITATION

Sunday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Woke up feeling good but did not fulfill my self-promise to go for a walk. Instead I took the kids to Sunday School and grabbed a quick cappuccino and some peanut butter crackers on the way. Afterwards, we went grocery shopping and headed home where I miraculously managed to have a nice 10 minutes meditation in my room.

Afternoon
For lunch I had hummus, carrots and penne pasta. Then took the kids took teh local library for a marine biology activity that they enjoyed.

Evening
And -- yep --- again --- I indulged in two gin and tonics at dinner and fried up some potato and cheese croquettes for me and the kids. They were yummy but not at all keeping with my nutrition plan!

FITNESS SUMMARY
nothing! (as usual...)

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Cappuccino (no sugar)

Saturday - Daily Journal

Morning -
Woke up feeling good despite the super-weird dreams I had last night! By the time I was up and about, the kids had already made themselves a huge (too huge) breakfast so I let them have it and enjoy their buffet. Meanwhile I headed out to the local cafe with my oldest son to have a cappuccino. I had a pancake and ate a few of his hashbrowns so I did not start the day with the best food choices I could have made. No plans today -- just some work and maybe some grocery shopping.

Afternoon
Lunch was two Peanut butter sandwiches, no exercise and a half-attempt to get some of my work done. The ONE GOOD THING that I can report about today is that i started my first job application. I didn't finish it but I just need to get 4 references and that will finish the application and put it ready for me to push the send button.

Evening
(sigh....) when will I learn? When will I learn to make good choices? Donner was delicious -- homemade cheese ravioli in a creamy tomato sauce and fresh parmesan followed by a creamy decadent tiramisu. And - yes - two cocktails. urgh... when will I learn?????

FITNESS SUMMARY
nothing!

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Cappuccino (no sugar)
Pancake with syrup

Friday - Daily Journal

WEEKLY WEIGH IN - 241 pounds (1 pound gain; 2 pounds total lost; 81 to go)

Morning -
I was disappointed (although not surprised) at the 1 pound weight gain this morning). I did not (as planned) go for a walk this morning and did not do any cardio. When am I going to get my act together and start exercising???!! Came to the office without breakfast so had green tea and, later, a cappuccino (no sugar) with a plain doughnut. The danger in skipping breakfast is always a doughnut! Full work day ahead so I need to stay organized and focused to see if I can get all this work done before 5pm. I have promised the kids that we will go to a local cafe for Board Games Night so I need to keep that promise.

Afternoon
Had a healthy lunch of grilled red snapper and mashed potatoes. Followed by a snack of watermelon, cucumber, carrots and pineapple. I got quite a bit of work done but there are several "big" important pieces that got neglected so I may have to come in on the weekend to deal with those.

Evening
Well well... as usual I lost the plot in the evening with two Moscow Mules and a big slice of pecan pie and ice cream. urghhhhh

FITNESS SUMMARY

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Green Tea (no sugar)
Cappuccino (no sugar)

Hello Thursday. Sorry Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!

So, where have I been for the past week? Well Saturday and Sunday found me in bed, sick to my stomach with cramps and fatigue. It must have been a 48 hour bug or something because by Monday morning I was up and about again. But I found myself swimming in work, kids and just trying to stay caught up. I have made some good food choices (and some bad ones) but - worst of all - I have not made any effort all week to exercise. To my surprise - it is suddenly Thursday! Which means tomorrow is weigh in day!

Thursday - Daily Journal

Morning -
I woke up too late for a walk or cardio and the morning traffic was weirdly and unusually awful today! But I managed to get the kids to school on time. Got to work and managed to get my day started with a list of 22 things to do.

Afternoon
Had a healthy lunch of tomatoes, feta, pita and labneh. Also had a cup of Jasmine green tea. My afternoon snack was watermelon, cucumbers and bananas. By 3:30pm I had whittled by list of things to do from 22 all the way down to 9 (yay!). I also managed to get that done even though I had two visits from former co-workers who I very much enjoyed seeing again. By 4pm I was able to lave the office early to take the two younger kids to their swimming lessons and dropped the two teenagers off at the movies so I am feeling like a fairly decent parent today!

Evening
As usual - I blew it this evening with a large portion of deep fried chicken tenders, a hot fudge sundae and later in the evening I had a cocktail. Urghh. all of the kinds of stuff I was trying to stay away from. So I ended the evening feeling bloated and disappointed in myself.

FITNESS SUMMARY
(nothing!)

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Lebanese pita bread with zaatar
Labneh (lebanese yogurt spread)
Black Coffee
Feta cheese
Tomato slices
Pita bread
watermelon

I woke up very early to help my son with his homework and rush to the office to do some unfinished work. scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast plus some green tea. Monday - Daily Journal

Morning -
What a disasterous morning. The kids were monsters. So mean, unhelpful and combative. I tried so hard to be nice and speak in a calm kind but firm voice. I stayed calm until I told my 13 year old to please lock the front door and he said (sullenly) "Do it yourself." That was the end of my calm voice. So... well... it was a terrible morning. I did not go for a walk, I did not meditate and the only good thing was that I had a virtuous breakfast of cherry tomatoes, green olives and feta cheese. I have a FULL and long day at work so I have that to look forward to but anything will be better than this morning!

Afternoon
I worked very hard, got a lot done, had some good meetings and even managed to stay healthy at lunch with some brown rice, broccoli and carrots and some apple juice.

Evening
Couldn't be bothered to prepare dinner so I ordered pizza. I had 3 slices but because I ate so lightly for breakfast and lunch it didn't hurt my calorie count.

FITNESS SUMMARY
nothing!

NUTRITION SUMMARY
Magnesium supplement
Cappuccino (no sugar)
6 large green olives
feta cheese
cherry tomatoes
brown rice
stir fried carrots and broccoli
apple juice
Cappuccino (no sugar)
3 pieces of pepperoni pizza

SLEEP AND MEDITATION
Slept horribly (probably because of all the champagne)
Meditated for 10 minutes (guided meditation)

WORK
6 emails left in my INBOX
LIST OF THINGS TO DO - 19 items (12 done - 7 left undone)
