I agree with Luann, you can't. I mean you can help encourage IF they are willing and trying but that's about it imo. Even then, it can be a slippery slope imo.

Spouse, friend, whoever.... nothing you can do to make someone else lose weight.
They have to make that decision (and do the work) on their own.
