I try to adapt an existing recipe to fit for me. You can makeover any recipe on Spark. For instance if it calls for any canned broth, tomatoes or beans, substitute items with no sodium. Make your own seasoning mixes and omit the salt. (Taco and chili come to mind.) If you use jarred spaghetti sauce use a low sodium sauce. For most tomato sauces or bases for soups I use low sodium V8.
My favorite swap is very lean ground turkey instead of ground beef. I don't even notice but you can do a mixture of 1/2 and 1/2 to start with.

I need some recipes for low-sodium & low-fat meals. Just spent 2 weeks in hospital for fluid retention from cardiac issues. Any tasty & filling recipes out there?
