Hi, I'm EPARKS4232 on both SP and BC. I'm in PA and am really enjoying both SP and BC. Since joining SP a year ago, I've started to run and have run 3 1/2 marathons. I'm training for the Rock and Roll Philly 1/2 in Sept for my next one.

Hi! I'm CheriePie over on BookCrossing and BookObsessed. It was already taken here though thus the Yin Yang at the end... or 69 if you prefer cuz I like that too. ;)

Having just moved from Massachusetts to California in the second half of last year, I had a 6 month period where I couldn't get back into fitness much (though I did maintain a healthy eating habit which I've had for several years now), but it seems my body will not lose weight by eating right alone. I'm at that age where I need active workouts several times a week to see the scale budge. It was when I got up to 190 lbs that I freaked and knew I had to focus big time on the fitness side of things as eating right alone wasn't doing it. I am now within 25 lbs of my goal weight of 140 and as I get closer, the weight comes off slower and slower. Gone are the weeks when I'd see 2-3 lbs drops per week. Nowadays I'm lucky if I see a pound come off, and I can usually kiss that goodbye if it's a period week.

My current fitness regiment consists of (2) 90 minute Bikram Yoga classes 2x per week, (2) 60 minute Belly Dance classes 2x per week, and then various workouts and exercises at home consisting of one or more of the following: Elliptical machine, Wii EA Sports Active, Wii Walk It Out (new), Wii Fit (boxing/step/yoga), Shiva Rea Vinyasa Flow Yoga DVD, and Gaiam Healthy Knees DVD.

Anyway, that's me in a nutshell. I already recognize several names here so to those old friends I say, HELLO AND WARMEST BLESSINGS, and to those I don't already know, HI NEW FRIENDS, I hope to get to know you better! :) Feel free to add me as a friend.

PS - For the past several years, I'd been using another program called DietPower to track my eating and exercise. Therefore, you won't find me tracking everything I eat in SparkPeople just yet, only because DietPower now has all the custom foods I've added in over the years. But I plan to at least put in my total calorie numbers, and track my fitness goals here as well. :)

Hello everyone, I am very glad I found this team. I have been bopping in and out of SP for a few months. Still don't know how to do everything. Hey all I"m new to the group but not to bookcrossing. At the moment, I do mostly Halloween releases under MysticPumpkin. But I have done state wide releases under Irissunshine, and my mom InHisHands and our friend not-a-clue. Not to mention the my siblings and my dad are all members of bookcrossing also.

It's nice to see a group for us here on SP

Hi Kelly,

I could get into an exercise machine that would allow me to read at the same time - geeze, I might never stop! I would like a recumbant bicycle for the winter months. I live on a highway with no sidewalks. It's a half hour ride into town to walk - which I've been doing this summer. But the winter - hmmm - rather ride at home with a good book - I think I'll look into that! If I could read on it I'll bet I could also crochet on it too!

Welcome to the team!

They sell exercise bikes and treadmills with reading racks mounted on them! I used to use one at a gym, and I have my eye on buying one for home sometime in the next year.

There are knitting teams here, too. We talk about knitting and crocheting while walking - one way to get in a hobby and some exercise at the same time.

Hi! I'm Rraine - here and at Bookscrossing. I'm not all that new to either site, but just new to a sparkteam. Reading is one of my greatest pleasures, but a little hard to do while exercising. It's time to take up a little more activity. I live in the Muskoka's in Ontario ~ nice to live where it takes everyone else hours to drive to. I'm an avid scrapbooker, love to knit and crochet and am working on my B.A. at Nipissing University. I'm not sure how many posts I'll make here, but it may just be a good place to encourage, vent, brag, etc. I'm looking forward to the changes coming my way even though it's going to take some work.
