Welcome!!!! I will also turn 47 in November and would like to be much smaller by my birthday. To me, that would be the greatest gift of all. I'm in an 18 now and I'm thinking that to be down to a 12 or even 14 for me would be a great goal. Let's do this!!!!!

I eat low carb. I've read *a lot* about the science of weight loss. A great book is Why We Get Fat and What to Do About It, by Gary Taubes.

I'm not exercising yet, but hope to re-introduce exercise this weekend. The endorphins really do help :)

Hey! I'm the same height and the same starting weight. I started April 17th and have lost 13 pounds so far. So, there's hope! :) We're all in this together :)

Hi Everybody, I am pretty new to the forums still trying to figure out how too get around but getting better at it. I am 5' 7" and weigh 195...I am in the obesity range and now that I know that I giving it all I haveto lose this weight, I need to lose about 60 pounds. It is hard to lose weight but I have change my eating habits drastically, I hope this helps and I go fora walk everyday. I have been weaning myself of some of my medication and that should help too, they have helped in me putting on all this weight. My goal is to see some kind of improvement by November and if I work hard then something should happen. I am 46 and that by my 47th I am in at least two sizes smaller. I am in a size 16 now, hope to be in a size 12. Thank you for listening....
