menopause (and surgery) made me gain. I can't stress enough about getting your sleep and drinking lots of water. You didn't gain the wt as fast as you want to lose it, 2 lbs a month is awesome you are on the right track

I am a 60 yr old recently retired teacher of 38 years. I took an HRT medication during my last 2 years of teaching so I could get some sleep and be up for 30 six year olds but I also gained 15 pounds. Now I am trying to lose that weight. I walk 2.25 miles over a rough hilly area, and also spend 2 hours on an elliptical every day. I have only lost 4 pounds in 2 and half months. I try to keep my calorie count under 1500 calories a day. Most days it works but not always. I am very frustrated that I can't lose weight. I have always worked out but during those last 2 years I was always exhausted and only did about 20 minutes 4 times a week. Now I am spending 3 hours a day exercising and still can't really lose weight. I know menopause makes it harder but does any one have any tricks that might motivate me to continue trying to lose the weight.
