Hi! Would you mind posting on the "Revive the Team?" thread? I'm hoping that if everyone will post in the same place, then we will all get a better chance to get to know each other and benefit from each others' experience and motivation. I don't think there are enough of us yet to achieve "critical mass" and maintain interest in very many threads. Not that there are very many threads, but you know what I mean!
....Just trying to keep it together long enough for there to be regular posters and regular interest!

And thanks HUGGABLE for all you are doing, too!

I once lost 120 pounds on the Atkins diet. My doctor told me to go off the diet. I did. I became pre-diabetic & gained back 80 pounds. My doctor told me to go back on Atkins! So, here I am, starting over again. The good news is that I'm thrilled about going back on it. I love the diet, I love protein, I love not being hungry, and I love how easy it is to follow. I'm going to give it one month, and see if I am still able to have the 10 pound a month loss that I experienced the last time. I'd like to hear from other's who are having success with the low carb lifestyle.

Hi Amy -

This group has been dead for a long time and I hope to bring it back. I have been doing something similar to Atkins (not counting carbs but eating foods on the induction list). I fell off the diet in November and started up again last month. I went to the doctor this morning and have lost 7 of the 9 pounds I gained between November and April.

I am a school bus driver who has to control diabetes. Low carb is the only way that I can do that. Most nutritionists follow the ADA guidelines. I have never been able to get my blood sugars under control following those guidelines. I can pretty much keep my sugars within normal limits eating low carb and taking my meds.

I want to add exercise but afraid that will drive my sugars down. Need to experiment by adding exercise and a few more carbs.

Welcome to the group.

Hi, I'm Amy. A few years ago I started the year resolving to lose the weight I had gained over the past 10 years. I lost 15 pounds by the summer that year and started adding back carbs insidiously. Of course by the holidays I was out of control. Since then I have been on WW and have tried calorie counting. Nothing has given me the same results as when I was eating a low carb diet. I joined this team for support and to learn a few things too. I hope to meet some new friends and hopefully reach my goals. I have read many books about low carb and I am convinced that this is not just a quick fix but a plan for life. I hope to not make the same mistakes I have made before while following low carb. I think in the past I may have eaten too many processed meats and possibly not enough fat. I hope to correct those things and focus more on real food and less processed.
