Hey everyone! I'm a 21 year old college student and I'm minoring in art history. I don't really know what I'm going to do with it yet, but I really love art and reading about the artists and current events that affected art-making. I just joined this site and am in need of lots of support--feel free to friend me! :)

Hi Everyone,

I am new here. I just joined SP last week, and I am making this year the year I whip myself back into shape. Feeling better all around is a great goal for me. I hope to meet some great friends here.

I used to work at the IMA.

Our family is in the process of creating our own museum. Our goal is to have a museum on a ranch.

Hi Elvira! I enjoyed seeing your post... I used to work at the National Gallery! Still live in DC, but left the NGA for the Smithsonian a few years ago. I try not to take all our great DC museums for granted!

Nice to see some artsy people on here...
:)

Hello, my name is Elvira, pronounced el-vee-rah. I first learned to love art many years ago when I spent my junior year at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Later, with a teaching stipend to teach English at a rural German school, I entertained myself by going to small-town museums.
Nowadays it helps to live near the National Gallery of Art in Washinton, DC. I started doing landscape painting a few years ago while recovering from surgery and continue to TRY my hand at plein air painting.

Hi there!

I joined almost a year ago! And I wasn't very active at all because it was my last semester in school and I was trying to finish my thesis. Then, grad school apps and GRE stuff happened. I've always been good at making excuses but now that I've graduated and I've been accepted to my top choice graduate program, I have no more excuses! And, really, it's about time.

My main goal is to be healthy. I would love to lose about 35 pounds or so (which would put me in a good weight range) and I want to accomplish that by the time I leave for school in October to study. I really want to have healthy habits already in place before I go and settle in and I want to be able to make better choices and not be intimidated by whatever the local food scene happens to be in Colchester. And I have a very good feeling that utilizing this site and all of its features, including the message boards, are going to help me achieve all of my goals.

Cheers!

Esme
