emoticon back! I think most [all?] of us have gone back and forth weightwise and healthwise - I also think most [all] of us have a love/hate relationship with diets! But I'm always learning new ideas here on SparkPeople and I'm sure you will as well. I'll suggest a book I recently read that started me on a whole new way of thinking - I'm following the concept and have seen the scale needle dropping without all those cravings and frustration I've had in the past. The book is Gary Taubes Why We Get Fat and What To Do About It. Even though I don't agree with 100% of every word in the book, it's definitely educational and the general concept seems to be extremely helpful for me. Either way, hang in there and keep trying to find the combination that works for you - keep us posted on your progress, too!

Welcome back and good luck with your re-focus? Have you considered frozen options? Sometimes those can be cheaper (I get mine at a bulk food club and they tend to last a while that way) than the fresh options.

I'm back again (for the xxth time), trying to really do this. I have a love/hate relationship with diets. Any word where'die' is the majority part of the word can't be good. Every time I die, I end up gaining weight instead. This time I'm trying to incorporate healthy in-season (cheaper) produce. I'm a member of a local CSA so each week is like I'm on the show 'Chopped' trying to find a way to make a great meal out of what's available.

I love to cook and bake. But trying to make it healthier and family friendly.
