Hello All! I have been on Spark for almost 4 months, and have recently changed over from a Garmin device to a FB Alta HR. I like it so far, and am looking to make friends on this team, now that my device appears to be syncing (took nearly a week emoticon ). emoticon

Just bought a FitBit Charge 2. Since it was the last day of the week/month, it gave me a chance to play around with everything before a "real week/month" begins. I'm super excited. My goal steps is 10,000 a day. Everything else will come with time. Great luck to everyone on their journey!

Hi all! I love my Fitbit, so joining this team was a no-brainer. Been on SP less than a week, but I知 inspired. Setting my goal to 6K steps a day. Any more is bonus. I use a Fitbit Alta, but want the latest model. Asking for it for my Christmas gift so my husband can get me a present I really do want!

Hello everyone,my name is Judy I live in North
Eastern Pa. I have decided to get serious with my exercise ,& healthy eating .I posted on my blog in the last 2 blogs of how I am getting there please go to my site. I have had 3 fitbits & lost all 3 of them ,so I now have one for my wrist seems to stay put. There were so many times I just wore it without even caring to look at it.
I have a cousin that I spent 7 days with & came home with a new mind set. She was a motivational speaker at one time .
So I am back with a new attitude !! ( ROCKMAN invited me to the forum )

emoticon I'm Janice and been here about 1 week so far. I had trouble setting my fitbit flex to sync with SP ...but found out I had it set up on a different email that wasn't working. So I was on-line with fitbit help for about 1 hour to get it all figured out! And finally I'm BACK to enjoying the Sync .......this is just emoticon

Hello, I am Linda. Have been with Spark several years and had a Garmin but lost it this past week. Daughter had a Fitbit she was not using so I inherited it and love it. Got it set up last night but still learning. Really like that it buzzes me when it is time to move!

Hi all!! Newbie here. New to spark and only had my fitbit charge2 since march. Looking to figure out healthier eating to loose weight. I am a single mom of 2 teens. I work, do online college classes and attend my daughters many activities. With all I do I only manage to get in about 5,000 steps. My job has a lot of sitting and not much move time. I suck at staying motivated and cooking. I welcome ideas of how to get started on a better meal plan that doesn't require cooking skills, and also how to loose weight. I have never been able to really loose weight. I have been the same weight and body shape since my daughter was born 16yrs ago despite a not so healthy nutritional diet. I recently gained 10lbs due to some endometriosis treatment and haven't been able to loose it. I just am clueless what to do and where to start.

Hi, I'm grad new to this team. (HOpe I'm posting in the right place). I am a children's book author, illustrator and portrait artist so I am more sedentary than I should be. Just got a FITBIT and am learning how it works. My goal is to hit 8000 feet, but I have MS so I'm happy to have 5000 feet at present.
Looking forward to participating in this group.

Hi everyone! I had my annual checkup last week and my cholesterol and blood pressure have gone down since last year. I figured if they went down without me actually trying they could REALLY come down by next year if I put in some effort. So I got a Charge HR 2.
I'm new to fitbit and would like to do some of the challenges, so feel free to add me.

Hi, everyone, I have been using my fitbit for about a year now, but I am thinking about upgrading. I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea what is the best for monitoring your heart. I am trying a the target heart rate method. I am new had no idea... I am training for a 5 K and trying to use my heart rate as my training. Anyways right now I have an Alta and I was looking for a fitbit that was a little more water friendly and a little more accurate. I sometimes wonder if my fitbit is not very accurate. Anyways thank you for your help.

Getting ready for the 5K

I just bought a FitBit after realizing that comparing my day to day progress was important for my motivation. I used a Jawbone Up Move, and was happy with that, but like everything else in life, nothing is forever, including companies.
I just learned that my cholesterol is too high, but for a 61 year old, overweight woman, I'm otherwise in pretty good shape. My goal is to be a not-overweight, healthy woman at every age until my expiration date arrives. I am planning to do this by eating a little bit heavier in veggies and way lighter in breads and sweets and chips.

There is always good in the universe, but sometimes you have to look really, really hard to find it. It's worth the effort, though. And when you do find it, dance like nobody's watching, so you can spread it around even further.

Given my desk job, yes I am. And on the weekends my tendency is to crash. But since using the fitbit I have increased my steps from 3500 to 5000 and I do tend to get more in most weekends. I've kinda made a game of the 250 steps on the hour - and it helps me be fresher on the job.

I'm new here with this team ...

Hello! I'm surrounded by diehards at my office who walk 20K steps a day. I'm trying to work up to 3500. At least the Fitbit knows not to start me at 10K. Are there any other sedentary types on here?

Hi FitBit Users Unite! Thanks for inviting me to the team! I've recently restarted SparkPeople after many years away.

My department all won Fitbit Flexes last week and it is great to have a FitBit again! I previously had a ChargeHR but the band broke and it fell off my wrist without my realizing it. We've been doing a lot of step competitions in the office. It is great to have some healthy competition at work!

I am looking forward to exploring this team more and get stepping with all of you!

Hi, I知 Susan from CO. Just got my Fitbit Zip. (Can稚 wear any thing on my wrist). I am loving it. Have set my first goal at 5000 steps but have been doing 6000. I have 4 married children, 9 granddaughters, and 3 great granddaughters, with 1 on the way. Can I safely say a boy would be nice? I am almost 70 and started out needing to lose 97 lbs. Down 33 since Jan 13. I just really want to be healthier and be around for my great granchildrens weddings. My DH is so supportive and have a friend that is very slender who is my accountability partner. Use a treadmill for walking as we are 9000 feet with lots of mountains and I just am not ready for that yet. Maybe someday.

I am wearing a fit bit for the first time today. It was a mother's day gift from my daughters. I have been a sparker for over 5 years. I had two previous weight loss efforts, just to quit and gain back. Third time is the charm. I have lost over 40 pounds. I am 65 and a high school art teacher. I retire after one more year. I want to go into retirement as a healthy, active senior citizen.

Hi everyone! I too am new to this group and really hope to gain some encouragement in my weight loss journey. I am 68 years young and hope to get fit enough to enjoy the upcoming years traveling with my husband, enjoying my church and singing and of course, my children, their spouses/significant others and grandkids and granddogs! I am 5'6" and currently am afraid of the over 250 lbs I carry...I'm not even sure what my true weight is! My only problem - besides sore feet and aching legs - is the motivation to keep going. Would appreciate any and all help!

I have just started Fitbit but have wanted one for quite awhile. I bought simple pedometers but they were inadequate. When I wore two different ones at the same time, they would record different amounts and neither recorded heart, etc. I find the exactness was what I wanted. Also I can see my progress and increase challenges when I feel ready for them

I hail from manitoba Canada and am looking forward to hear from other fitbitters around the world.

Good morning! Today I am new to the Fitbit User Unite. I have, however, been a fitbit user since December 2016. I like the information that the Fitbit provides and sometimes it is very surprising the number of steps one takes. My DH just got a fitbit and for his job he averages 18,000 steps per day. I used to think that I walked lots on a nursing shift.

I am working to lose 10 more pounds... 11 gone.. but the scale is doing the up 3 pounds....slllooowwwly get rid of the 3 pounds. I know that it is what I eat but it feels sometimes like I cannot stop myself from that one little snack.. and then an hour later another.

Wishing all a wonderful day!

Hi!!! I've been a longtime member on Spark but have come and gone lots of times more gone than come but I'm really needing to make some changes so here I am again. I've had a Fitbit for about 2 years and I've definitely not used it to its potential in the form of motivation and making goals so I'm trying to change that. So here's to new goals and adventures!

Hi all! I've been using my fitbit for almost a year. I got a little unmotivated for a bit due to health and it not updating to my phone, but one of those got fixed. :D I'm looking to get moving again, especially before the Oklahoma summer hits.

I'm a single mom of a 18 yr old high school student who wants to join the Navy, so you could imagine how I'm taking that. LOL Sorry, I never know what to put in an introduction but feel free to ask questions.

Hello all, I am a returnee to SparkPeople, did not interact with anyone, kept myself hidden, not sure why, but I am here again. I keep throwing away the extra weight (not much, but for me too much) and it finds it way back home.

Anyhoo, I have been using the fitbits since they pretty much came out. I basically got for my hubby to motivate him to be active since he has many health issues and needed to stay moving. Naturally he would not wear his unless I got one, so we are the proud owners of the Charge 2. But he spotted their newest one, the Versa and has been hinting. We have our own competitions as to how many steps, stairs etc each has. Amazing how many steps I can get on a weekend doing grocery shopping, etc

I am from NH, owned by several fur babies and still work full-time

emoticon Hi!
CAS from Maryland here. Joined Spark the end of January and have lost 20 lbs as of today! Realized that when I am not actually doing workout minutes or chores, I do not move much. The fitbit looked like a fun way to get motivated. Looking forward to counting steps and figuring out what else the Charge 2 does when you know how to use it. emoticon

Every day is a new beginning! Carpe Diem!

Hi I am Donna from Saskatchewan Canada..I am just new here on Spark but I have had my fitbit for a few years. Wondering how you keep syncing it or does it do it by itself?
