Those plateaus can be frustrating -- try to think of it as an exercise in not making the scale the most important measure of your success -- If you are losing inches while maintaining the same weight, you are building muscle and getting more fit! That is a great success.
Best wishes to you on meeting your goals!

Welcome to the team. emoticon

If your losing inches that is great because you will eventually start losing the pounds too.

I am retired so I go to Curves and water aerobics Mon, Wed and Friday mornings. I think if I was a young mother again I would get my children involved in some sort of fun exercise we could do together.

Welcome aboard! I live in El Dorado Hills, which is along Hwy 50 east of Sacramento in the foothills before Tahoe. I have been here since the first week in January of 2010 and love. I am taking it nice and easy so that this is a lifestyle change and not just weight loss. I'll add you as a friend so you can read today's blog. Good luck if I can ever help just let me know.

Hugs

I am so excited I found our very own local chapter in the Sparking saga! I've been Sparking since mid October, 2009 where I started out around 207lbs and have gone down to 188. I've introduced jogging to my routine - I can only workout outdoors since the gym is out of my budget right now, so this weather has been getting me a bit down. I do strength training at home too, mostly some of the demos I found online thru this site, and your usual crunches, squats, push-ups, etc. I've been stuck at a bit of a plateau now for about a month though and it gets pretty frusterating at times. I see results as far as inches - but that darn scale doesn't move.

Anyways, I decided to sign up for a run next month in Oakland, the Rhodes Race. I'm not doing it to win, just to be able to say "I did it" and to feel a sense of accomplishment. It's my very first run so I am so pumped and excited.

I am very happy to be part of this team and can't wait to see if we hold local events (runs, etc) that I can participate in. I am married and have 3 kids so finding time is a challenge at times, but I am learning to put myself a bit higher up the priority chain.

I'll quote Porky and say, "That's all folks"...for now at least!
