Hi - I've been with SparkPeople for a couple months, but haven't been using it as much as I should. Consistent exercise has always been a problem for me.

It'll be a pleasure getting to know all of you.

Hi, team!
My name is Sandy and one day I would like to be a mini - Sandy. I joined SP in September. I feel like my motivation has been zilch. So I am joining the team with the hope that a challenge will be just what I need to get myself going in the right direction. I plan to begin the challenge on January 7th so I can participate in the 1/7 through 2/2 session.

Hi everyone,
I'm Kate and I live in Pittsburgh, Pa. I've been on SP since March 2012 and have been on a plateau for a long time. I need a jumpstart and am hoping this challenge helps.
Good luck to everyone!

Hello everyone! I'm just back active in Sparkpeople after 4 years without (after meeting my 2007/ 208 goals). It worked the first time, and I know I can do it again, just this time I won't quit after my goals are met. I've recently started doing Zumba from the Exhilarate DVD and love it, especially since I can do it wherever I am (hotels, etc.) since I travel a lot for work. This challenge looks like a good way to stay on track after the holidays and to add more variety to my workouts. emoticon

So, since I am in quite a few groups, I'm sure some of you will notice that the post is eerily similar with only tweaks made to the individual group and my hopes for it. I generally dislike these, 'introduce yourself' threads because to me they are a few very impersonal paragraphs that are supposed to have a personal purpose. So please, bear with me on getting this right.

My name is Bronwyn Pearson. I am recently married to my wonderful husband, Bryan. He and I got married on our tenth anniversary of dating. We have a little girl, Ariana, who is four and in Pre-K. She'll be five in March and she can be quite a handfull. I also have two fur children: my cats Akasha, and Naki. They were both rescues, and have their little heart string tugging stories. Both of them sleep on me at night. Normally one will lay on my hip, and the other will lay just below my bent knee. They actually don't get along very well. It is quite common to hear Akasha growling at Naki, who still being a kitten, loves to antagonize her some.

I am twenty-eight years old, and that thought in itself depresses me. To be honest, getting older scares the crap out of me. I'm not the healthiest person alive, as you'll get to know in a little while. I can see mistakes coming back to haunt me, and my body is quickly giving out physically.

When I was younger, I suffered from both anorexia and bulimia. This has caused problems for me later in life such as crazy metabolism issues, problems with organs, and oral health. I also started having seizures late in life from a surgery I had when I was younger. They still aren't fully under control but I am on medication for them that seems to help. Every couple of months is better than every couple of weeks. I also have depression, bi-polar, high anxiety, and OCD. It is also interesting to note that I'm dyslexic, but I love reading and writing. It just takes me a little longer.

I was first going to school for Early Childhood Education, though that quickly changed when I had my own child and they started offering a Paralegal program at my college. However, thanks to my seizures (I can't drive for six months after I have one), I had to drop several classes and decided to take a break from school until I can get them fully controlled. Since then, my life has been filled with little pastimes. I like some videogames and I also roleplay and have begun blogging.

I'm at SparkPeople to try to get a jump start on my resolutions for living a healthier lifestyle and improving myself as a person. Mainly due to the medicines I'm on, I've gained weight and have trouble losing it so I've crossed in to the overweight category by five pounds and two inches of BMI. There are some other goals I have in mind, such as stop smoking and have a better family life. So, here's hoping! I'm ready to refresh myself for January!

Hi everybody

Lost a stone and less than half a stone to go. But it's sub-zero in England right now and my need for comfort food is kicking in. I think I need to up the exercise to combat it. But that's hard too - I don't want to go running when there's frost everywhere. I hope this helps.

By the way that's 141 pounds, not kilos - I'm not getting the measurements on sparkpeople at all.

Hi everyone. I have been making progress incredibly slowly this year, but have really had a hard time sticking with things every day. My birthday present to myself was the promise that I will take time EVERY day to focus on my needs. This is exactly what I needed to get started. I hope everyone has a great time!

Wondering if ill be able to hang on to this four weeks. We will see how it goes! Have tried many commitments and get discouraged very easily. Trying to hang on to this while working on it myself. I feel like I need to do this to know that I can. Just to accomplish it and not go crazy on eating would be a blessing.

Hi there, I'm Stephanie. I recently got married and in the busy-ness of starting this new chapter of my life I have sort of neglected my exercise and healthy eating goals. I have gained 10 lbs since I got married 2 months ago, and I can see this getting out of control quickly. I decided to do the jump start challenge because I thought it would be a nice little piece of motivation, something to work towards!

I am having trouble figuring out these message boards and where I should post...lol! You can tell that I am new to sparkpeople hu? Well, again, my name is Lisa and I am trying to get motivated, lose weight, and get in shape for myself as well as my family/loved ones. After going through a nasty separation and divorce I have let myself go and gained lots of weight...over 60 pounds in just a couple of years to be exact. :( I feel embarrassed to go clothes shopping, be in public, meet new people, etc..and I am tired of feeling ashamed of myself, so I am hoping this site can help me to get back where I used to be so I can look better and FEEL better about myself. I cannot afford to join any clubs such as curves, gyms, etc.. and never imagined a site like this would be completely free! This is such a blessing for me. I hope everyone on here reaches all of their goals and accomplishes everything they have set out to do! Have a blessed and successful day! I posted this message in the main discussion forum by mistake, I cannot figure this out for my life, lol! I hope I am getting this right...this time! If not, please hang in there with me till I do figure it out, lol!

Hi everyone,
My names Amy and i'm fairly new to spark people. Last year I lost 80 pounds but have since found it very difficult to lose any more. I've sort of lost my focus and my drive so I'm hoping sparkpeople is what I need to get back there and hit my goal of a total of 100 pounds lost. Wishing everyone the best in staying healthy and dedicated to your weight loss goals!

hugs,
