I too am 64, and I have just been diagnosed diabetic. My sugar levels last week when I was in the hosp were high over 500. I have had significant problems bringing it down due to some other conflicting meds, but things are in the works to bring that into check. I am looking forward to learning about this new part of my life, and how to control it.

I have just turned 64 years old and I am diabetic. I need to lose weigh so I hope to go from 221 to 175 so I can have my second knee replacement surgery. I need to get serious so I am joining spark people. I have a terrible sweet tooth and have never been able to get control of it but now is the time to start. I usually bake huge amounts of sweets for the holiday, cookies, fudges, candy, everything you can think of for the holidays and I am scaling way back this year. I am the one who eats everything and everyone that comes over enjoys the piece or two of sweets they take but then it is all left her and no will power me eats it all. Right now this is the first challenge I am working on for the next two weeks and then I am looking at exercise and healthy choices. I enjoy my grandkids and I love going swimming. Enough for now. Enjoy your holiday season.
