I smiled when I read you feel conflicted about SPT - quite a few of us shared the same in the January message board : )) but I love the BLE book and I truly appreciate she published it at a reasonable price, so the program is available to all of us who are willing to make the effort and work through it.

Maintenance Lessons Learned:
-go on with the healthy lifestyle learned in weight loss phase
-just add healthy foods gradually to stop losing
-work out every day - 30-60 minutes is enough to maintain weight and good mood
-do not try to balance overeating by extreme workouts, it is not going to work
-avoid overeating, instead of satisfaction you get stronger cravings

Hi, everyone - Iíve been living BLE for a year, as of 1-29-19. Amazingly, Iíve lost 69 lbs. And, even more amazingly, Iíve come to believe that even someone like me who has struggled with weight my whole life, who has yo-yoíd for years, with a family and personal history of obesity, and post-menopausal - can actually lose the weight and live in a right size body. Iím not quite there - still 5 lbs above a normal BMI. But I now believe I can do it.
I am grateful to BLE for the science-based inspiration and strategic tools to actually live this way. Like some others, Iím a bit conflicted about SPT. Iíve learned so much from her and yet I am simultaneously turned off by the dramatic presentation and sales pitches. That said, Iím filled with gratitude for the changes in my life as a direct result of BLE.
I was on SP a long time without losing weight. I continued logging in because I find the articles inspiring and I love the food and weight trackers and general positivity of the postings. I love the new ďplan your dayĒ function.
I feel like Goldilocks finding this group! Just the right combo of BL and SP.

Iíve only read the book but had the super support of this team for 4 months now. I look forward to walking through this experience with you. I donít do FB so this is my BLE support group. Hello Bright Liners - I am new here and I am excited to join this team. My name is Jane often called Jaiz. I have been Spark friends with DJ for several years and I was inspired by her success on BLE plus another Spark friend has also done well eating this way. I bought the book back in November and I have been slowly reading it and getting ready to commit. This week I have signed up for the 14Day Challenge and today is my day 1.

Currently I am also a member of Weight Watchers and so far I have lost 20pounds. I want to lose 10-15 more at least. I know that I can follow BLE alongside my WW. I need the face to face accountability that WW gives me. I am a lapsed lifetime member and once I lose 10 more pounds I can go to meetings and get weighed each week for free.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all and learning about how you work the program and also how you overcome challenges. Would love any tips you have. Keeping my lines bright today.

Glad you are checking in with us while considering BLE. As far as treats, I do not have any snacking or treating outside of my meals but always look forward to my fruit with each meal. I'm a "9" on the scale and lived my life from childhood on with "treats" so this is a dramatic change for me for sure but one I willingly and ably am able to make while following my Bright Lines - surprised me - ha! My fruit servings are so much "sweeter" tasting to me than ever before - amazing how much one's taste buds will change/adjust back to normal after having been overblown for decades!

If you haven't read the book yet I'd suggest starting there - it is SO helpful and informative and we're here to add any experiences/insight we can as well. I checked mine out from the library.

Hello! I'm Lori and I am on day 28 of BLE. It would be a week longer but last week I started down the slope and rolled all the way to Pizza and ice Cream....back on track! I live in GA now. We have 2 adult sons. I with Autism that lives at home and we just celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary! I was a 9 on her quiz! Looking forward to meeting everyone! Lori

Welcome to the team Tia!

...and congrats on your 3 days with no sugar or chips! That IS an ACCOMPLISHMENT!

You can do this Ö the longer you keep up your current trend the faster any cravings will go away. That is how I have to do these type of things - "cold turkey" style.

I think some people can taper off with things/others have to have more strict approaches. I think it might be where one falls on the susceptibility scale Ö I'm a "9" so have a brain that's been well trained for addictive pathways Ö working on changing that!

Welcome Tia. Try giving up one at a time, completely. Chips are my nemesis. If there is a bag in the house, I will eat all of it. My husband continues to buy them so I need to tell him not to. But he doesn't listen. I dont even go down that aisle in the grocery store. Carol

What study of Bright Lines have you done? I've simply read the BLE book and catch SPT freebies online. I am so glad to have this team. We are a small group with varying experiences but since I've never done the paid program didn't have a support group till I find this one. Great supporters!

Argh! On the sugar and chips! But if you want it, you can do it. I struggle for about 3 weeks with the sugar/flour abstinence and downsizing portions/servings of protein and fat but it has gotten easier. It does get better. My physical trainer always says, it doesn't get easier, it gets better! And I often remind myself of SPT saying it is just Today.

Hello team! I am also happy about finding an active BLE group for support. My name is Tia and I have been eating "Nutritarian" style for almost a year. My main issues are that I started, about 5 months ago, eating sugar and potato chips (in large quantities) again. :( I have since gained +15 pounds on top of the 25 that I needed to lose. I am having a super hard time giving both chip and sugar up at the same time. I am eating less of both of them (and losing weight), but I don't want to just eat less, I want to get completely off of them. I want to employ BLE to help me with this goal and I feel like having a support system would help. Well, that's about it in a nut shell. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi team, I'm glad I found this active BLE team - thank you Tricia for leading me here!

I'm in maintenance since 2011, but I love to learn new things.
I started to follow Bright Line Eating principles in November 2015, before the book came out, so I never tried the weight loss part.
I was looking forward very much to read the book and downloaded immediately when it came out. It is brilliant and I loved it.
Also I was delighted to see that what I eat is perfectly in line with the maintenance food plan described in the BLE book.
Eating only 3 meals, and refraining from sugar and flour gives me freedom and a lot of energy.

I am new here. I've been looking around and visited many of the topics, threads and member pages. I completed the BLE book and have been receiving emails and vlogs of SPT for a couple of years. After a recent fall to a binge I decided to give her plan a try...

The rest of my story is on my page...nearly 7 1/2 yrs Sparking with success at weight loss, maintainence, and Even some food freedom.

My greatest fear is eventually desiring to go back to sugar, flour, alcohol on occasion and socially! But, for today, committed to try, work, and trust the plan!

I hope word of this team gets out to a few more Sparkers who have also dappled with the ideas presented by SPT and we can guide and support each other on this great website.
