Hey Everyone!!!

I'm Holly, 26 and I live in New Brunswick!! I recently just moved back to the town im orginally from and don't know a lot of people here anymore. I'm hoping to lose weight by the summer and just to be healthy again. I was in a car accident 6 years ago and have gained a lot of weight since then and I basically put my life on hold after the accident. I've decided 2011 is going to be my year and have set a lot of personal goals. One being driving after my accident I put off getting a license and its only Feb and I'm already on the right track. Another goal was to get a house I've been searching for houses and going to open houses and I'm confident I'll have one by summer. And my last goal accomplish everything I can in my job.

I'm hoping to meet some new people who are on the same weight loss challenge and share support with on this exciting journey!

My Name is Meghan I live in Cape Breton NS. I was happy to find anohter Canadian team. I found about about spark people from my mother. I guess she heard me one to many times saying I need to lose weight. I am glad I joined this site. It has help me out alot over the past couple of months. I am starting finally to lose weight slowly I lost some and then gained some back and now finally starting to lose the weight. I guess between the reading and tracking of the food it has helped out alot.
I have two small children Ethan soon to be 5 and Caitlin she is two and half. And then my other half the love of my life lol. They are my world. I know I need to loose the weight not just for them but for me too. I have alot of self esteem issues not to mention battling hypo thyroid.
I hope everyone that joins this site reaches thier goals. For now I am going to take baby steps and keep going from there.

Good weekend at work, but bad, as far as food, is concerned. Ate 2 wonderful chocolate covered doenuts,last nite. Strange,but I'd never eat Tim Horton doenuts,ever,but,alas, last nite,they were simply delectable!!!! Bad girl,that I am. Even with those gone, I've maintained,and haven't put on weight. Working nights seem to alter your fluids,for the good sometimes,and I never put on. But I have to stay away from this stuff!!!! Just tired, I guess, and that makes you more vunerable.

Anyway,this week I'm off,getting ready for a nurse's strike in Newfoundland. Uggg!!! Will try to stay tuff,as far as junk food goes.

You guys keep me motivated,so cheers to you all!!!!

Hi Everybody!! I'm Ashley and I'm living in Halifax, originally from Guysborough County (Country Harbour to be exact) I was so stoked when I happened upon this team!! I love the East Coast with all my heart, and it seems you all do too. I started my journey for real this time in April. I had been fiddling with losing weight for a couple years, but I've never been overweight enough to really motivate myself.

I'm getting married in August, so It gave me the push I needed to finally start, I I'd been using spark and exercising regularly and when I got on the scale, and it didn't move, I was disappointed.

My fiancé said you should check your measurements, I think you look smaller, so I did, and low and behold, I had lost four inches off my hip and thigh area in about three weeks to a month!!

Not to be long winded, but my point is, without spark, I wouldn't have made to that point, and I wouldn't have the motivation to go on. It's changed my whole way of thinking. Thanks to spark, and hello to you all, and I am happy to be here.

Ok, I'm done.

Dial-up is so slow!! that I don't do too much looking around. I have about 20-25 pounds to lose and I'm off to a really slow start....but I'm out of the gate!

Hi I'm a new member from New Brunswick. Still learning the ropes of spark people, hopefully I get the hang of it soon.

I need all the motivation I can get and so far this site and the people are really motivating me to finally follow through on my weight loss journey. I think having to be accountable to others and having an extra support system will help too.

I've been an athlete in the past, but I completely rely on being a member of a 'team' to get to that point. . . anyhow, the hope is that I can be accountable to you guys now!

How is everyone? I am from Charlottetown P.E.I. I have been on Spark people for a while, but I was getting a little lonely. There are some really nice and supportive people on SP and I have made lots of new very inspiring people, but they come from all over. I would like to meet some people from home (or close to it). Go figure, 1st time posting & I got it all wrong! This group isn't the gardening group is it? Well now, what I said still applies and to those that DO garden, to those that have read about gardening, are considering starting a garden, have seen a garden,or have no interest in gardening whatsoever, I still wish you much joy and progress in all things positive...aaaaand I wish I knew how to delete messages 'cause this is one too many!

I pop in and out of the site and thought I'd better swing by for a quick "hello" I'm writing from northwestern NB and from my living room window see nothing but mountains of snow. Not complaining but it sure would be nice to catch a glimpse of a blade or two of grass...thank goodness for the promise of sunnier conditions ahead! Kinda itching to get into the garden. Wanted to wish you all nothing but success and hope this site has been as helpful to you as it has been to me!

Hi everyone...my name is Alison and although I am not new to SP I am fairly new to posting. I just turned 30 years old and I am having a hard time losing time weight these days. In fact for every pound I lose...I put 2 more on, it's frustrating. I've lost 25-30 pounds on 2 separate occasions a few years ago and now that my husband and I are trying to start a family I really want to be healthier going into it. Any advise or words of encouragement are muchly appreciated.

Yes I hear you on the falling off the wagon,, I should be completely covered in bruises from falling so much !

But as long as we keep getting back on right :)

I'm going to do it !! I'm so close to making it happen this time I can't give up now !

I have 2 months to take off 22 lbs. Even if I can come close to it I'll be happy.
I want to be close to goal for my anniversary. that is when my son and dil will be arriving home for Christmas and I'd love to surprise them with the new me :)

Must run have lots of bulbs to get planted today. want to get the majority of it done while granddaughter is having her morning nap.

Boy, Do you ever sound like me. I'm a wife of one and a mom of 2. Until Sept 4 I was a SAHM, now I'm a stay at home student mom. I volunteer at the school and I'm on the local library board. I love to craft but lately I don't have as much time for it. If you tell me that you live on the West Coast of NL I'm gonna think we're twins!LOL

Seriously though, I'm glad that you're back on the wagon. We're all here for the same reasons, hopefully we can all help each other!

I will be turning 40 in March 2009 and want to lose 40 lbs. by my birthday. I then will continue to lose more after that. The total I need to lose is 65 lbs.

I have lived here in Nova Scotia all my life I was born in New Harbour, down in Guysbourgh County. I have on son who is now 21 years old and out on his own. Hi. New to the posting scene but not to Spark people. I came back to Spark after a bit of a slump in my weight loss. Didn't seem to have the motivation until June. I have been exercising all summer but haven't seen a drop in the scales. Thought i would start tracking nutrition again as portion sizes seem to be my pitfall.

Hello everyone. I am 37 and currently weight in at 241 pounds. My goal is to get down to about 140 or 150. My biggest struggle is accountability. My bf is a great supporter but as a thin person who has never had a weight issue he is limited in the support he can give. That is why I joined this group. I know that with support and accountability that I can achieve my goal. I would love to hear from anyone who has a story to share or just wants to chat.

I live in Nova Scotia, born and raised! Have been married for almost 9 years and have 3 children. I have struggled with my weight for my entire life, but within the last 4 years lost a lot of weight and gained back about half. I am back on track again and hopefully, will stay that yay!!

Denise, it's been so long since I set up my weight loss ticker that I had to go and look to see what to do! When you set up your own Spark Page there is an option to choose your ticker and your ticker icon. You can also choose to make is visible to everyone or not. Hope this helps!

I'm Jackie, a 30 something Mom of 2 and full-time career woman from Fredericton. I've got 100lbs to lose and I'm on SFL. So far, 16lbs down Since Feb! Like everyone else, I sure wish it would come off faster but I guess I will have to learn patience.

The worst of it is..I know the portion sizes are wrong..I know the foods are wrong..but not being accountable to anyone but me makes it easy to cheat or tell myself, it's o.k. this time...
Going here with my niece should be just what I need.
I'll keep ya updated and anything I learn, I'll share.

I find that eating the right foods and learning portion sizes are a big help.

It's a nutrition center that helps you eat the right food (based on the Glycemic index) and the right portions.
I feel food plays a BIG part of my weight. I know I over eat.
It's not a weightloss center but you do lose weight as a result.

Hi there "East Coaster"! This is my 2nd week on this site and it's Fab! I'm a 43 year old wife with two grown children. I live in Cumberland Co. Nova Scotia. I'm an old country girl at heart but do love getting to Halifax and Moncton for the odd weekend excursion!

I have lots of relative on "Spud Island" PEI and always vacation there during the summer. I would love to travel to NFLD some day... one of my many items on my "Bucket List".
