Bea and Donna, those first drives are a milestone, aren't they? Suddenly you're independent again, and it feels like before the surgery!!! But yeah, takes a while to get your strength back - so go slow, rest a lot, and you'll feel back to normal pretty soon.

Nell, I'm so sorry about your cat. It's so unfair that their lives are so much shorter than ours, isn't it?

Econlady, the detail in those cookies - wow! So amazing! You must have an incredibly steady hand the way you pipe those bike tires! They are perfect!!!!

NancyAnne, it sounds like you and your daughter have made great progress since the big blowup - this is great!!! Maybe she'd be willing to spend a little time with the family for the holiday? Sometimes knowing there is a time limit helps. (I can only take about an hour of my sister.)

Donna, I know it's hard not to be independent - but all those people who offered to help out really did mean it. (I always have to remind myself of that when I need help.)

Jamir, hope you feel better - and Kellie, and Poindextra, and Toni! It's that time of year, isn't it? All those germs, and we're in closed environments - feel better!!!!

Bess, enjoy your day with friends!

Maree, you do more in a day than anyone I know!!!

I was going to take it easy today, I twisted my ankle the other day and realized it's still rather sore. But then I ended up on my own for breakfast, DH wanted to go back to the hotel after his chiropractor appt - so I went to town, walked around, bought another top I've been eyeing, and just enjoyed the bizarre fogginess of the day. Ended up getting another couple of miles of walking in, without even trying.

Yeah, didn't need this top. But it's another cropped pullover, and looks great with all my black clothing - it's red with an abstract geometric design that looks like vaguely random brush strokes. Folds up very small, so great for travel. Sigh. I need to just stop shopping!

Good evening

Another first since surgery today. I took my friend, Mary, to a doctor appointment. It was a short drive. I'm not sure I could drive all the way to Zootown yet. I still get tired too easily. So today was like a practice run.

Econ, those are terrific. I especially like the bicycle one.
Horray, NancyAnne!

Just wanted to give you ladies a quick update:

Met with my daughter Alex for lunch today. Things went better than I'd hoped. We're still not at her coming for Christmas, but I can tell she wants to somehow. I was able to convey to her how much I love her and how stuck in the middle I feel. I also was able to identify with some of her feelings, which she seemed to appreciate, and tell her I am sorry for the places where I could have dealt with the whole ugly scenario better.

Not perfection, and we still have a ways to go, but progress. I'll take it!

Nancy Anne

My cookies started breaking yesterday before I could mail them. Broke my heart to see all my work and time fall apart. The gym staff loves munching on my broken cookies. I feel discouraged. I also got some bad club news that I was dreading. The clubs days may be numbered.

Phebess, I read your blog this morning and a hearty thank you for sharing with us. Wow! You are one amazing packer and I for sure going to refer to this stain for my future travels. I know a great deal of thought went into this.

Sending healing vibes to those fighting viruses right now. The good, thing is you will be over this before the holidays.

Rods you I have a meeting with the pharmacist regarding hubby’s meds. Not sure why he wants the meeting but we are booked for half an hour. I scrambled to find someone to take me.as we have four other medical appointments this week and I am trying not to bother people too much. I will be calling my doctor today to discuss my driving again.

Love the post about the healing vibes of a purring kitty.

Bea you are doing so well with your recovery. I can bet you needed a nap after your busy:
morning yesterday.

Jamir, I have done spinning classes and for me they are the best cardio workout. I know you will love your new bike. I a ways said the spinning class was a love hate relationship.

Hope everyone’s week is awesome!

I'm back! Happy Monday! I seriously believe that the building that I am currently working in, for one reason or another, is making me sick. Thousands of people go through here, AC/temp issues, etc. I rarely had sinus infections before moving in here - now I have 2-4 a year. I spent a lot of time in bed Thursday and Friday, felt better and ran a lot of errands Saturday and paid for it yesterday.

Maree - I know - that commercial, ugh. I have been liking the bike. Only 4 rides so far, and still working through trying all of the instructors. Hoping now that I'm feeling better that I'll get on a better routine. My boss has been considering a Peloton or the Nordic Trac version (used to be branded Lance Armstrong, but not sure what it's called now), but she has never done very many spin classes, so I recommended that she get a pass to one of the local studios and try it out before making a hefty investment. Spinning was the first fitness thing that I had really gotten into several years ago, so I knew that I liked it, and have been playing with the idea of a bike since I stopped doing as much running a few years back. There aren't many live classes when I typically workout in the mornings (5:30-ish EST), but there are plenty of prerecorded classes to take. And Hawaii sounds divine.

Nell - Hard to watch pets age, for sure. Hopefully, she still has some time.

Off to werk. Exam time here, so not too much to catch up on, thankfully. Have a good day, all!

I love kitty cuddling, but my poor oldest cat is dying. She is a bag of bones, and she has a funny crouch thing going on. I don't know if it's pain, she isn't crying, and she still jumps up on me when I am sitting on the sofa, a jump she can still make. I don't want to have her put down if she is comfortable, and still using the litter box. She was our Christmas joy in 2006, a brand new kitten after losing 3 cats that year, now it's her turn. Where do the years go?

Monday Monday - And a rainy one at that

Maree, Toni, Poindextra - Hope all 3 of you can lick this cold. Soon. I love the idea of kitty purrs setting up healing vibrations.
Phebess - LOVE the watercolor wardrobe on your travel blog!
Bea - happy to hear you're back in the classroom again
Donna - I want to know too - did you find those decorations. Love your family, btw
Econlady - Glad to hear the neck pain eased up
Nell - wasn't yesterday's weather weird. Started out freezing cold - warmed up to sweater weather then got cold again! Virginia - always offering you something new
NancyAnne - oooo Chocolate tea! yum

Shoutouts to all the rest of the team with wishes for good health and easy schedules.

I will be spending a day shopping in the city with a girlfriend today, so, no sewing, but all the pieces for the playhouse are cut out. Tomorrow is another day away from home but I'll at least thread the machine so I will be ready to jump in on Wed.

Here's for another merry and bright day

Good morning!

Let’s huddle, Maree, Poindextra and me and knock this dang virus! I do miss an animal when I am sick, but my DH is taking good care of me. I watched Downtown Abbey, the movie, yesterday and really enjoyed it. Made soup.

Bea, exciting to hear you are getting back to doing what you love!

Happy Monday, everyone.

Good morning!

Thanks so much for the air travel tips! I appreciate this group SO much.

Bea, I bet your Sunday School class was happy to see you back! What a full day, did you ever appreciate old routines as much!

Donna, what a fun family day! Did you find the missing Christmas decorations?

Bess, you're as busy as Santa's elves! Doing what you love to do!

Phebess, I'll be visiting your blog later today. Cousin is checking availability of another room so DD and her family can go, too. Thanks again for sharing your travel tricks.

Toni, are you feeling better? I took decongestants yesterday and am hoping for a better day today. I may come home early today as I have a very full and long day tomorrow. Hope both of us can shake these colds. You, too, Poindextra. (I miss having kitties!)

Econlady, sometimes you just gotta roll with those bursts of energy whenever they come!

Nancy Anne, ah guilt. My Emotional Brain Training class helped me to see it for what it was and, as Toni mentioned, I usually am able to examine the facts I had available to me at the time a decision was made or action taken, and see I did the best I could at the time. I focus on the lesson learned. Not on what other people might think. Most "other people" are focused on their own lives anyway, not mine.

Jamirblaze, how do you like the Peloton? That commercial has certainly gone viral!

Better scoot. Crossfit class, packing my lunch and "werk""!

Hope all have a great day!
