I know it's a little late, but we need to congratulate ourselves! I'm sure many of us are eager to kick 2010's ass, but let's take a moment to commemorate the beating we left 2009 with.

Everybody who logged here lost consistently. 10 pounds or no, we all left a little something behind. I did a little tabulating, and here are the leaders of the 10 Pounds by New Year Challenge:

MaeReth, you are our weight loss percentage with 6.4 percent and 11 total pounds lost! Way to go!

Becker, you became our total weight loss leader on 12/18 with 11.7 total pounds lost. I'm sure you continued your streak on through 12/31!

I also didn't make my goal, i don't enter my weigh on sparkpeople regularly, but simply joining this team and reading over the posts helped me make better choices for eating and held me slightly more accountable. Thanks group!

Whoo hooo! Got my 10 lbs! I'm going to weigh in again on January 1st to make sure it's not a fluke. I went out to dinner last night to a place that I know loads up the salt, so my water retention from drinking on New Years should be similar to this weigh in. Hopefully.

Yeah, I knew that was going to happen. This week was a ton of going out to eat and drink. I think I'm retaining a lot of water, because I weighed in at 182 last Sunday.

I'm going to visit the parents tomorrow and will be there through Saturday. I'm going to kick my ass left and right and hit 183 by Friday.

I had a goal to lose 8 by New Years but so far have really only lost between 0.5 and 1! But I am not going to get too discouraged because the first month back at excersising for me - I hardly ever see the scale move. It usually takes a full month before I'll see changes with numbers!

Nov 2: 163 same weight, but weighed the next day and I was 166 :(
Nov 9: 161.8 (must be doing something right)
Nov 16: 167 (ugh. time to go map out my meals (my least favorite activity))
Nov 23: 166 I'm actually not that disappointed, this weekend I was at Banquet, aka, drinking all day.
Nov 30: 162.8 (I spent Thanksgiving in Florida, we didn't have a traditional dinner, and I walked with my family 3-5 miles every day! I just wish my weight didn't fluctuate so easily.)
Dec 7: 164.8 well, i haven't been working out, so that would explain it.

I was soooo inspired by the biggest loser last night, to see how far all of the contestants had made it in 7 months (especially Shay, Abby & Rebecca!!) yay! 4 down since I started so that means 6 more before the new year. 10lbs lost by new years would mean the beginning of a great 2010!!!! and 1/3 of my goal done!

Here are my new measurements and weigh-in in comparison to last week
LBs: 159.6--158.8 lost 0.6lb
Waist: 38.5--38 lost 0.5in
Hips: 40.75--40 lost 0.75in
Thigh: 20.5--20.25 lost 0.25in
Arm: 12--11.5 lost 0.5 in
Calf: 13.75--13.75 stayed the same
Overall I'm pleased. I wish the scale read a lower number but in reality it's the inches that everyone sees not the scale number so I'm pleased.

Okay, so I am not just doing my New Year's goal. I am doing my full plan to reach an okay weight by my wedding date in March. I am really nervous about this, because I am so unhappy with my weight right now. I just don't want to hate all my wedding pictures because I couldn't buckle down and lose weight.

Okay so I started this challenge a long time ago at 130 and am now 126.6 so I guess that is something, it has been a long and hard last few pounds, but overall I am happy so I will just focus on working hard and let it happen as it happens. I want to get a lot more tone and the last few pounds can come off as they like, as I will be counting calories and working out like normal.

I am thinking about beginning training for a marathon, I think that is something awesome to experience in life and awesome for my body too. So we shall see and we shall see where my hard work will take me in December.
