Howdy LADAWNC77! Congrats on the loss! Sounds like you have your hands full!

My two kiddos, are 16 and 18 and we have two dogs and a cat. I figure now that my daughter has her license and can get herself to school and events, it's time I crack down and get back to it. I did SP several years ago and really did have great luck. Between the encouragement I got on here and being able to chat with people who are like me, I was able to build some healthier habits and got myself moving again!

I am 43 (boo) and started at 262 about a year ago. I have been able to lose about 20#s this year but it has slow and lots of ups and downs. I'm ready to step it up and see if I can get myself to wonderland!

My son helped me with my DVD player - bought a new one and guess what... that isn't the issue. I was up this morning ready to go and it wouldn't play so tonight we have to check the connections - I hope I don't need a new tv because I can't afford that right now!

Hi! I am 42 from Oklahoma. I have 2 kids ages 10 and 15. I homeschool both of them due to their special needs not being met at the small schools we are close to. (We live in the boonies.) We have 3 dogs. So, things can get kind of crazy around here. LOL

My weight was at 260. It is slowly coming off. As of this morning, I weighed 248.8. I still have a long way to go, but look forward to this journey with you all.

My day yesterday was very productive too. Although I admit part of mine was due to my over thinking a lot of things and letting my emotions get the best of me - so instead of allowing myself to sulk and eat junk, I cleaned - like Spring cleaning, clean. I felt much better at the end of the day vs if I had eaten my feelings which is a step in the right direction!

Was hoping to get my dvd player hooked up so I can dust off the old dvds for this morning, but my son is supposed to help me get it tonight. So fingers crossed!

Didn't sleep well last night, bad dreams and asthma kept waking me up.

I need to do better at tracking :( I tried WW, but had so much trouble, it just didn't work for me. I love chicken so that wasn't an issue, but my family - well they like red meats and I'm like you MPotter, not fixing two different meals.

Very productive day today. Felt much better. Grocery shopping, laundry, paperwork....
And getting reacquainted with tracking again on Spark. WW has made me feel too restrictive. Unless you eat all fruits, veggies, fish and chicken. Hubby is not going to eat that and I’m not making two meals... Lol But, I’m glad to be back and hope the scale starts going down, and clothes get looser!

Slept horribly last night due to insomnia. I finally fell asleep around four, and woke up at 8. I wasn’t as tired as expected. Maybe I rested too much yesterday. Got up, threw my ham and cheese casserole in the slow cooker and kept going!

Back to 48 degrees tomorrow!

Happy Friday! I'm new to the group and wanted to drop in and introduce myself and read a little up on ya'll. I am really trying to focus on getting myself back - I've lost myself the last 2 years (long story) and a couple weeks ago really did some thinking and came to some realizations. So, here I am, after being away for a couple years, to help get me back on track to finding me!

I'm a busy mom of two teens, well one just turned 18 but still living at home. We have two doggies, one who is very old but still a trooper! I work full time and my husband and I own a fabrication shop (metal working, welding type stuff).

When I did SP before I found friends and encouragement and motivation by seeing others success and I think it'll help me see that my goals aren't impossible again. This weekend I am going to be taking my daughter to a horse show and then recovering on Sunday..lol My son is giving me a dvd player so i can start doing some DVD workouts in my living room and I am going to try to get up early in the mornings to do them. My goal is to do 3-30 minute workouts through the work week for the next month. Then I'll do more... It's always the getting started that is hardest - wish me luck!

We’re getting rid of stuff while cleaning and organizing before winter!

Felt absolutely awesome yesterday! Was in a great mood too. Not sure where it came from, but I was smiling all day!

My daughter caught a horrible flu bug. She passed out for 2 1/2 hours while alone with Anastasia. Daddy stayed home from work yesterday, but we took her for the weekend. Dad needs to work and Mommy needs to rest. My daughter was so upset...

I had hoped to take Anastasia to a fall festival, but the rain is not cooperating. Think we’ll craft and bake instead. Planning on making a pumpkin cake today.

Stay dry and enjoy the day!

Crazy work day Michelle!

I'm so glad we have the fall temperatures again. My walk last night was fantastic!! Went with a few friends. It makes the time fly. Today's walk will be just me so I'm going after work. then I have the whole night at home.

Gotta get back to cleaning out more stuff. I've gotten rid of a lot of clothes from my closet that no longer fit, but still afraid to get rid of more.

Had a much better night last night, and had acupuncture after work. She treated my belly problems today. Feels as if it’s working already! I’m weaning off my vitamins, and going back down to every two weeks. Headache was almost nonexistent today, even with the rain!

Had an exciting day at work. One of the warehouse employees was arrested this morning, and of course, terminated. Rumors are going around about being drug related. So sad....

Looks like cooler temps tomorrow, but no rain.

Michelle, I've been doing the same thing at my house. Our trashman is not going to like us today. We also have a big box of clothes going to the veterans today. I need to get to the basement and just do a box a week. WE have so many stuffed animals and toys from when the kids were little it's ridiculous. And tons of vhs tapes!!

I was a bit more productive today. Cooked a chicken pot pie in the slow cooker, and did some much needed picking up while hubby cleaned the basement. Felt good to get something done!

Tomorrow, I’m going back to work. Ready for more activity... Lol We dropping quite a bit off at Goodwill on the way home as well as some grocery shopping.

Poor Anastasia now has a nasty cold with her infection. Her fever broke yesterday, but feel so bad for her! I told my daughter to keep her home this weekend so she can rest.

This cold/ virus thing is a doozy! Feel good for a few days, run down others. Just have to deal with it as it comes.

Watched my eating 6 out of the last 7 days and scale was down 4 pounds from three weeks ago. Starting walking on the treadmill tonight, only 20 minutes. But, a walk is a walk! I’m trying to focus on keeping my body healthy with food and wine exercise along with watching what will trigger my headaches. Number 1 is “Do not sleep with the window open “. This one is hard, but it is what it is. I just freshen the house with open windows during the day.

Tomorrow is another day. Make it great!

I am so excited - I actually made it to the gym this morning. It's really the only time I have to go, but it's usually so hard to get up that much earlier. Today, I woke up before my alarm and just made the decision to get up anyway. I came back feeling so full of energy! (not that I'm surprised about that benefit, but definitely enjoying it.) I might just try it again tomorrow. LOL

Drove down to pick up Miss Anastasia in Portage last night. Did our shopping at Aldi while there. Today is laundry and weekly chores, and packing.

We are leaving tomorrow morning for Galena, IL. My mom flies in to Iowa this evening. Then, my sisters and I ( and families) are renting a house for the weekend. We’ll only be there one day, but still fun. And my mom will meet Anastasia for the first time! I wish my daughter could come, but with her restrictions......

Called Thursday and disconnected our cable. Just wasn’t worth the money for as little as we watch. I’m perfectly fine with Netflix and Amazon.

Had a good weekend with Anastasia. We have so many laughs when she’s here! We just relaxed at home, felt it was too hot for much else. Playtime was around 5, when we fired up the grill for pork chops. It had cooled off a bit.

Yesterday, we drove down for my son in law’s 30th birthday. Bacon cheeseburgers and chocolate cake. It was fun to hang out and chat .

Back to work today, and tired. Hubby made multiple trips to the bathroom. Heat must have gotten the better of him. He did a lot of lifting outside on Saturday, helping his brother move.

Warm again today, and calling for storms.

Michelle-- I wish someone could help you get rid of those nasty migraines once and for all. You have been dealing with them SOOO long

Today is my "day off" but a contact from church set up an appointment for me with a director of an agency here in our town that not only provides our bus service but serveral grant operated resources for the poor. SO I will be going out there in just a little while.

Tomorrow I am supposed to work a bake sae in the morning and then go to a friends birthday swim party. It will just be ladies over 50 and one in her late 30"s. It should be a lot of fun.

Life has been kinda busy this week and it will be busy next week. I need to make a food plan for the week and stick to it. I have found myself eating unhealthy "just because I can" & " because I wanted to tune out" & because I wanted a treat since I was doing so much" NONE of these repeated patterns are good for weight loss. The thing is.. I had enough money last week t really stock the house with food for my son instead of one week at a time. While it has kept him from binging (because he see there will be plenty for a long time so he is not in a rush to get it all NOW) it has also left me with the ability to eat the wrong foods. And Its so much better when I live alone and just don't have those foods in my home.

I'm just going to have to make that food plan and practice self discipline and determination. OH ! HEY! I can use a reward!!! I have the perfect thing. I want to sign up with a coach that helps people discover their authentic voice. She is a friend of mine and said I could pay what I want and could afford. This would be great for my blog to turn it into a money maker and my church work. So the reward could be: If I stick to my food plan 80% of the time I can take the next month of coaching. Hey this just might work!

Kidney stones are common in pregnancy, I guess.

Had a really good day yesterday. Surprisingly so after our trip. But, I was up late doing stuff around the house. I’m energetic, but eyes feel tired.

Been feeling really good lately, and only get migraines once in a while- usually when it rains. I have acupuncture tonight, and am going to see if we can drop down to every other week.

We had so much fun last weekend that we plan to go for a week next year. So, we’re hunting for a used camper :)

Much cooler today with no humidity. Feels wonderful!

Having a good week. Still amazed by all the damage in our area. Some people may not get their power back until next week..

Was still able to my acupuncture last night, but so many trees have been uprooted due to the wind and all the rain we’ve been getting. Just devastating.

My daughter found out the other day that she has kidney stones. Probably due to dehydration and change in diet. She just can’t catch a break.,...

Enjoying the less humid weather and sleeping with the windows open!

I was able to find some recipes almost exactly to mine so I tracked yesterday and will track tonight.

On another note...
I posted that I was going to not focus on the numbers of the scale but how my blood sugar was doing and clothing fitting and energy.

My blood sugar is doing well!
My clothes are a little looser
My energy is good-- real good.

yet I got on the scale today and was up a lb. I still got a little sad. UGH I have got to let it go.

We picked up Anastasia last night and watched lightning for the last 15 minutes of the drive. Pulled into the garage, and the storm hit five minutes later. Great timing!
This morning, we had a pretty wicked storm come through. All towns surrounding us lost power with downed wires and trees. We were lucky with only losing the cable and internet. We must have been on the edge!

Spent the morning introducing Anastasia to the record player. Too funny! She didn’t quite understand the concept!

Congratulations Grandma!! With all the love you have poured into Anastasia she will be a very loving big sister.

This heat wave -- well lets just say I am enjoing my house this weekend LOL. I did go out for a 5 mile walk this morning while in the 80's and cut it off at a mile and a half. The heat index and my medication just made me feel sick. Tomorrow will get up and out earlier.

I froze the last of my vegetable soup and made a new post. I have fresh cabbage, zucchini, onions and celery that I don't want to go bad. They won't last much longer. So when this batch is done it will go in the freezer too. Then I have enough to make one more batch. I have frozen broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and squash that I also add to the top of the pot but the bulk 3/4 of it is the fresh veggies. I am just eating that and tuna this week.

I am taking my eyes off the scale...even though I have to weigh in for my challenge....hmmm I just thought about that. well I am not going to care if the scale moves and if I lose my 5%. I just want more energy right now, my blood sugar under control and to get into the clothes I just inherited that are one size smaller and I almost fit in them. I am done with the numbers for a while. I dont think disappointment and stress are helpful to weightloss LOL

Headaches are much better than Sunday, but still there. I’m positive it’s the humidity. But my energy and attitude are up!


My daughter and family came up for a visit last night. She had her anatomy ultrasound yesterday. It’s another girl! This fall, we will welcome Mirajane Hope into our family emoticon

Had acupuncture tonight, and refilled some of my vitamins.

Had a busy day yesterday. We were on the road by 7:30 to pick up Anastasia and drove down to Elkhorn to welcome a new baby to the family. Had a small get together and had fun visiting.

Dropped Anastasia off at home last night and shared some pizza. But, didn’t get home until around 11. Long day!

This morning, I have a migraine. I can’t complain. I only seem to get them once in a while. Thinking it might be triggered from the busy day, humidity, and lack of rest. Took a prescription med this morning and am going to take a nap. Hopefully, I feel better in a bit.

Hoping to get some grocery shopping done this afternoon!

My feet hurt!! I walked alot in the pool today. More than I planned bc a lady I knew showed up and walked a little bit with her. I did get to try my new water weights today. Loved it. I'm going to be so bummed when the pool closes on Labor Day.

The Mediterranean Diet is voted the #1 effective diet for Summer 2019. After reading about it I did my grocery shopping to match the menus. The diet focuses on that region of the world-it's foods and activities-so I have made choices that match the Med. Diet but also match my area. Spent the morning relaxing. Then, took Anastasia for her first mini golf outing after her nap! She did so good. She swings the club her own way, but she took turns and lasted all 18 holes. Treated her to a kiddie ice cream afterwards.

Hubby isn’t sleeping well, so my sleep is affected. I finally feel better, and get kept up..... The sacrifice of married life!

Plan to make a strawberry bread with the berries we picked yesterday. Good project for the morning. Maybe I’ll have Anastasia help mix!

Temperatures are much more comfortable with the humidity level lower. Love the heat, not the humidity. But, I still enjoy all of summer!

Welcome back Michelle!!

I bought a new swimsuit top the other day. Tried it one and it's too tight in the chest area. Ugh! That's what I get for buying it online. I have another one I always wear so guess I'll wear that until this other one fits again. Hopefully in a month I'll be able to wear it.

but on a good note, the shorts that were a little tight in April are loose. Unfortunately they are out of stock for the smaller size. Maybe I can find some new ones when we go on vacation next month. Can't wait to go. Really looking forward to getting away and it's our last big vacation before both girls go to college next month.

I'm back! Somehow, my email notifications stopped....
My fatigue took a turn for the worse. It took everything i had to get through a day at work, and towns a struggle. My acupuncturist suggested a hair analysis - the only lab work she does. It took three weeks to get the results. And with being exhausted 24\7 came bad eating choices. Too tired to plan or cook. We did a lot of fast food emoticon

I finally got my results last week. It showed that my significant element ratios were off. I am now on a lot of new vitamins to correct it. Thankfully, I will only be on them for a few months. The goal is to learn how to supplement with food. I felt a difference by day 2! And feeling more focused and alert every day! Absolutely money well spent!

Sunday night is the usual busy chores, but it's a three day week. My daughter and her husband are going on a vacation to Texas Thursday through Monday to a gaming convention. Not my thing, but that's what they love.

My daughter is still struggling, but doing the best she can.

Hope to receive notifications again so I can catch up - way too much to read emoticon

I'm so tired. Work in CRAZY. I'm mentally and physically exhausted. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be off tomorrow for the first 3 day weekend in a long time.

Been a great month so far. I have really gotten back on the wagon with exercise and my eating. I have really become addicted to being in the pool. Been doing water aerobics and river walking. No classes next week so we're going up the pool just to walk after work.

Good Morning.

This is the 3rd time I have woken up since I went to bed at 3am. This time I will be staying up. I am about to have a fantastic day going out to lunch and to the movies with a dear friend whose son is away on a mission trip s she has time today.

THe first time I was woken up was at 6 to run an errand for my son at the last minute. I wasn't thrilled but it was a blessing as I got a mile walk in nice and early before it heated up already by now. So overall it was a good thing.

Last week I was choosing not to eat carbs one day at a time. Today, I am letting myself off the hook for my day trip.

Thansk Kathleen!!

I did the river walking on Sunday morning. Absolutely loved it!! I walked for an hour and my legs felt so weird once I got out. Just bc I wasn't pushing against the water. Will be doing it again this weekend if the weather cooperates.

Our hockey team won the Stanley Cup last night!! It was so awesome!!

Can't wait for this workday to be done. It's perfect walking weather.

I haven't started my morning walks yet. It is too hot inthe afternoon but maybe I could do them at 9pm. I've been going to bed between 11 and 2am so when the alarm goes off I'm tired in the morning. Not so much at 11 or midnight but 1 and 2 -- I need more sleep.

It was so nice to sleep in today. I'm went back to exercising regularly this week and have been wiped out this week. I cancelled my girls night plans tonight just so I could have a weekend with nothing going on. Yesterday was my first day back at the gym. It was good. Weathers cooler and cloudy today so I'll be walking outside later. Didn't make it to do the river walking at the pool today. Will be doing it tomorrow.

Off to start cleaning the house!!

Hi everyone!! Well my youngest graduated high school last week. How crazy is that??

I also started a water aerobics class this week. It was fun. Bummed that tonight's got cancelled bc of the storm. You can walk at the lazy river at the pool in the mornings. I'm going to try that this weekend. Sounds like fun.

WHEW I am still yawning. I napped from noon- 2pm and then from 6-8pm and am ust getting up and going really after making a pot of coffee and putting in some laundry. This morning I got up and walked to Walmart to cash my first paycheck. Its 5 miles round trip. so it felt good when I got home at 9am. I just continued relaxing til my first nap. I just didnt nap long enough. I couldn't really wake up while watching Malcolm play his games. YAWN again wow!

Michelle-- sorry about your kitty. I know its been a long time coming but that doesn't lessen the loss in anyway.

Lori I did get my 5 miles in

I was up this morning at 6 and should have gone for a walk but I chose to stay in bed. The goal is to walk first thing in the morning while cooler and still have time to shower before leaving. Today I got back from church at 11am but it was too hot to go. I will go tonight at 9pm when the feel like temp is back in the mid 70's. Then tomorrow I plan to GET OUT at 6AM. LOL

I was hired at my church to be the new Community Liaison.Its just part time but it is doing things I would love to do.

Feeling much better after letting my body rest all weekend. We did our grocery shopping yesterday after work, which was much needed. The refrigerator was pretty bare.

My daughter had her OB appointment this morning. Baby is doing well. She is officially 12 weeks along and out of the risk timeline. She’s still losing weight, but not as quickly. The medication is working, but it causes horrible constipation. There are days she needs to skip the pills to feel more comfortable....

Acupuncture is tonight. I’m going to set up a different billing schedule tonight. It’s just too hard to pay at every visit. Good to have this set up so that we can work on next month’s budget with a plan.

Cloudy and breezy here. But, temps are supposed to go up later this week.

Finally have a day to catch up!

My daughter was diagnosed a few weeks ago with Hyperemesis gravidarum. Which is a fancy name for severe morning sickness. She can’t keep anything down, and list 7 pounds in a week. I took Anastasia while she tried the new medication. It works, sort of.... She is able to eat some, but still not enough. She is very sensitive to smells!

Last weekend, we went to Great Wolf Lodge in the Dells to celebrate her 3rd birthday. Nothing better than seeing a 3 year old have the time of her life!

Hubby picked up a cold while at the water park, and he shared..... I’m feeling pretty lousy today.

On top of all that, my Sweet Medusa stopped eating or drinking as of Sunday night. We put her to sleep tonight. It was time, but still so hard :(.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I’m going to rest up, and deal with my emotions.

SPARKKITTY2016 - Good job on the walk. Did you end up with 5 miles tonight then?

I know this is absolutely ridiculous but my body rebels when it's time to eat green vegetables. Mentally and physically. When I just eat them to be eating them, no struggle. When I start adding them to my menu as part of my meal planning my mind and stomach start reacting violently?

Made it to the gym tonight even though I'm not feeling so hot. Walked for an hour and got my 10,000 steps in. Here's to tracking and working out daily :)

I got a 4 mile walk in today already and I have another optional mile tonight if I decide to go eat at church for dinner.

I had a lot of anxiety this morning but it is subsiding now. The walk probably helped.

Hi everyone! HOpe everyone is doing well. My daughter's last band banquet was last night. I didn't cry as much as I thought I would. My daughter won a scholarship!! It was so exciting. It was a great night!! She graduates in a little over two weeks. Can't believe it.

We're finally getting our mom walking group back up again. Some of us are meeting at the track tonight. I really need it, especially since my back is out of whack again. Thankfully I got a massage git card so I'm going to schedule something hopefully this weekend.

Hi SP's. Hope all was well in your world. My grandkids went home tonight and I went nuts trying to get my house back together. Man...they are like a tornado when they get here! I have three of the downstairs rooms all back together. Will work on the kitchen and downstairs bathroom tomorrow.

I have to say I'm rather proud of myself today. My friend of many years whom also struggles with weight loss asked me to come over and do something but she didn't know what. She told me she has to "get serious" this time about weight loss. I suggested going for a walk in the rain, walking indoors at Lowes, or doing an exercise video. She shot all of those down and then said, "How about we walk downtown and stop for ice cream after?" I told her no and once again offered to walk with her away from food. She didn't want to do any of those. I'm walking without her :( Sad, but at the same time.........happy and proud! Putting on my poncho and heading out the door. NO EXCUSES!

Good morning SP's,

We have our grand kids this weekend. Can I just say that I am so worn out that I feel asleep brushing my teeth for bed last night while sitting on the toilet! Thank heavens my husband took them to the park this morning so I can get the house cleaned back up. This has certainly been a wake up call that I need to get myself back into shape. I can't hang with them anymore :( What do YOU plan to do this weekend to stay committed to your healthy living goals?

Love the enthusiasm on here!!! Trying to look at the positives...been able to stop eating this week from 8pm - 8am, have had no bread or pasta (both things that make me bloat), and while I'm technically not on a diet, the lifestyle changes perspective helped me choose grilled chicken and salad with no dessert at a potluck this week! Win, win, win.

So much for my decision to get up early every morning to exercise. I am getting up so that is step one. And I am exercising but not in the morning. I really need to exercise first thing in the day. Its getting up into the 80s. When its up in the 90s I wont want to exercise during the day.

I ' trying to think of a way to sew a washcloth to be able to hold a frowzen pack of some kind so I can cool off or stay cool while I walk. Last year i just took a wet wash cloth or hand towl with me to wipe my sweat off my face. It worked well But I would like it to stay cold.

I don't have extra money til next month. Any suggestions?

I did enjoy my retreat. The church has almost gotten enough pledges in to hire me. I am trying not to get anxious but I could sure use the money now.

Long day today.... Woke up feeling like I was catching a cold, but symptoms passed later this morning. Headache started around 1, but so much milder than they used to be. I’m making progress, even changed my acupuncture schedule to only once a week along with the herbs. The only problem I’m having with those is dreaded constipation. But, still feeling better!

Acupuncture went well tonight, but she said eyes were really red. I had trouble getting to sleep last night. Hoping for better results tonight!

Feels like we moved to Seattle.... Looks like we won’t see the sun until Saturday.....

Back to normal (somewhat) this week. Busy day at work, but busy is good :)

Had my supervisor drive me over to hubby’s work tonight. He drove the car to work, so that he could do an oil change that was overdue.

Even though the weather is all over the place, spring is here. The hundreds of ants I found under my coffee pot says so. Too wet to spray the foundation, so we’ll have to look for an indoor alternative for now. Yuck...

Didn’t get that deep sleep last night, so it’s an early night for me!

Hope the retreat was fun!!

Had a very busy week! I worked 9 hours four days, and it just wiped me out.....

Spent last Saturday with my daughter. We took Anastasia to Cabella’s to see the Easter Bunny and they gave out free 4x6 photos. Very nice! Then, we went back to her place to give Anastasia a nap before decorating eggs. She had so much fun. After we were done she asked to do it “one more time”. So glad I was there to help out. The smells from the hard boiled eggs and vinegar triggered my daughter’s morning sickness.

Easter was really low key. Went to Charcoal Grill for brunch and ordered a Mimosa to go with it. It was good, but never feel like I got my money’s worth. Just can’t eat that much.... Afterwards, we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

I had two appointments on Thursday. One at 8:30, and one at 3:15. I only worked four hours, but had to work extra to make up the time. I forgot how much that wears me out!

But acupuncture is going great! I’ve worked two full weeks! The treatments along with Chinese herbs....

We enjoyed our time with Anastasia this weekend and took her home. With the weather, I was pretty lazy this weekend. Came home and helped hubby in the yard picking up branches. He cut up all the large branches that fell off trees over the winter.

I am going away tomorrow for a 4 day retreat. I hear there is a LOT of food. I hope I do not overdo it.
